A "Buy-in quesiton" for Poker Players for No Limit Texas Hold'em

Some pokers rooms have a fixed limit on the buy-in for games. For example, the $100 No Limit game means you can only buy-in for $100. But some casinos allow a greater buy-in. For example, at some casinos the you can buy-in for $300 or even more for the $100 No-limit Texas Hold'em game. And some casinos allow you to buy-in for unlimited amounts.

Some players believe there is an advantage for buying the maximum amount. So if a casino allows you to buy-in for $300 at the $100 game, they will buy in for the full $300. Their thinking is that "chip stack" means strength and with a bigger stack you can force weak hands and weak players to fold.

Other players believe that buying in for the minimum puts less money at risk and gives them more opportunities to rebuy should they make a mistake.

I have seen players do both -- buy in for the minimum and buy in for the maximum when they could -- and each strategy has worked and failed because there is no magical connection between having a big stack and winning.

But what do you prefer to do?

Let's say Casino X has a $300 Texas No Limit Hold'em game and the minimum buy-in is $300 and the maximum buy-in is $1,000. If you had $1,000 in your bankroll for that day's play, how much would you buy in for and why?
