I'm writing this at 8pm on July 5th... and again I was overcharged at a fast food restaurant drive-thru. And I called the restaurant after I checked my receipt. Look, I was overcharged by only two cents -- but multiply that by the hundreds or thousands of others who probably have also been overcharged by this fast food restaurant drive through. And this one was near LAX and I'm sure they get lots of customers. Before you say don't blow this "overcharge" out of proportion let me paraphrase that old saying: a few cents here and a few cents there and before you know it it's a few dollars.
Remember that sales taxes hit the working class the most -- those who spend the largest percentage of their income on taxable items.
