Fucking bait and switch for Tier at Seminole Casinos! :(

So, I got a message saying something like," Second Tier, Legend. 1,362 Tier Points. Goal is 1,469 points by 12/31/2023 to maintain Legend Status. I played about 120 points, making 1,482 points. Goal achieved, right? WRONG. I got a new message saying something like,Goal to maintain Legend Status is 2,518 more points. Fucking bait and switch. 2,518 points is $15,108 coin in. There's no way I'll have $15,108 coin in to by December 31st. It was hard enough for me to reach $1,482 points(Took over three MONTHS) and they are asking for more than double that in coin in in 16 DAYS. Fuck that shit! :mad:

At least in Gulfstream Park, once you reach the Second Tier (Silver) you have a full six months to maintain it until you get dropped back to First Tier(Bronze) , not 16 DAYS.

I am Legend at Seminole Casinos because Seminole Casinos do the Matching Tier program from other Casinos:) I am Silver (Second Tier) at Gulfstream Park Casino, so I automatically became a Legend at Seminole Casinos. :)

I don't have a lot of experience with this and none recently, but back when I was playing VP for mailers, I used my presidential tier at Stations, to match tier at the LVH (formerly Hilton, now Westgate) on my first visit there. While they did match tier, they didn't give you long to maintain it. I forget the details but it may have been if you earned the tier at their casino you had 6 months to match, but if you initially got it by tier match, you had 3 months to match.

That sounds like what you are going through. Basically they are willing to match tier, but want you to prove you actually play at the level pretty quickly. They don't want to give you that level (for whatever it is worth) for very long, based on play somewhere else.

This does not surprise me at all Tasha because the Unity rewards system is very much a work in progress right now. My account was all screwed up after we got back from the Mirage and ultimately had to get on the phone with customer service to get it fixed. Every other day my online portal shows something different. They're spamming me with email everyday even though I have that shut off.... same BS, different company.

Who cares about tiers anyway? They're fairly meaningless until you reach one that eliminates resort fees, in this case that would be Icon.

There was a bill introduced in Congress a couple years ago that would have eliminated resort fees, under the premise of misleading advertising. It seemed like that bill has support on both sides, but obviously went nowhere. I wonder which side of the aisle, the casino lobby got to in order to dead end it?

As I understand it the resort fee thing was a product of the discount hotel websites. Apparently once one or two of them were able to successfully use the fee to bait and switch customers by showing a lower rate compared to others, they all had to follow suit to appear competitive. Too bad a suit was not filed early on, probably would have been the only way to stop it... too late now.

It doesn't have to be "too late now", but it would take a well financed, deep pocket, class action type law suit. Joe smoe suing because he was mislead won't get it done.

Should be pretty simple though. A few years ago when Strip Hotels casinos had extremely low prices on weekdays, like $19, $29, you would see places like Imperial Palace, Circus Circus, the Strat advertising $19 rates, which grew to $50 bucks with resort fees. How can that be anything but false advertising?

Airlines do similar. Advertised air fares don't even include an extra charge for a seat. :D Can you decline the seat and offer to stand for the trip? That would be the only way that advertises price wasn't false advertising.

Sure you can decline the seat charge, but then they pick the seat for you. I've done it many times.

The most interesting thing about airline charges is the airfare tax evasion most of the discount airlines are doing now. Well, another silver lining and saving grace is that it wasn't MY money that earned the roughly 120 points. I asked a few people to play on my card , and they did. :) One person earned me roughly 70 points! :)
