Would you abandon a Website over ONE DOLLAR($12 dollars a year):/

So, on another Website, the Admin said something like,"I pay almost $40 every month for this Website. I have a Child I am raising, and am also paying everyday living expenses. I'd really love it if Posters could donate a dollar each month ($12 dollars a year) to keep this Website open. "

A Poster who joined in like 2020 said something like,"I'm going to Websites that don't beg me for 1 dollar a month/$12 a year." Well, that Poster had only been around for about four years anyways, so no big loss.

A LOYAL Poster who had been a Member since 1997 said something like," I cant believe the Admin is begging us for $1 a month ($12 a year). I'm out of here!" And abandoned the Website. :( He gave us that Website for FREE for 27 years and is only asking for 1 dollar a month ($12 a year) and she abandoned the Website over such a trivial amount! :( Well, good riddance to bad trash as the saying goes!

If a website said something like can you donate $1 a month, I’d be thinking something like is that a voluntary donation or a mandatory fee?

If it was a voluntary donation I’d think something like, what difference does it make?

If it was a mandatory payment I would think something like, is the website worth $1 or more a month to me?

If the website was worth $1 or more a month to me, I’d think something like Ok I’ll pay it.

If the website was not worth $1 or more a month to me I’d think something like, yeah suck one, I’m not paying.

He's nicely asking us to donate, not making it a mandatory fee.

Well if he said something like its a voluntary donation than why would anyone say anything else than something like “Who cares?”

If they are saying something like how dare you ask for a voluntary donation? Then he should be saying something like “Fuck off” or something like “Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.”
