Thank you Rob Singer! :D

I know Rob Singer and I don't get along, but I thank Rob for being my VERY FIRST source of knowledge for the Coronavirus/Covid m! :D In late January 2020, Rob said something like,"Idiots are going on Cruises with Coronavirus starting to circle the world! Enjoy testing positive for the Coronavirus, IDIOTS! "

I personally had NEVER heard of the Coronavirus at that point when I read Rob's post about the Coronavirus. I thought,"What the fuck is the Coronavirus? Does Rob mean the Norovirus/Stomach Flu? Is there a REALLY bad Norovirus outbreak going around the world?" :confused: I soon went on Google not looking for Coronavirus and I saw that Coronavirus was trending on Google, and I thought,"There's that Coronavirus word Rob was talking about earlier today." I soon found out that Coronavirus was way worse than the Norovirus! :eek: I then recalled my Customer buying 10 packs of masks a few days prior and I thought,"Why is this freaky weirdo buying 10 packs of masks?" :confused: It dawned on me why my Customer was buying 10 packs of masks. So Rob, once again thank you for being the first person to inform me indirectly about Coronavirus/Covid! :D

I too had thought of posting a thread thanking Rob for first informing you of covid but I got sidetracked by an inane tale of doppelgangers, Axl Rose and time travel.

I hate this (kind) kind of thread, and not because it mentions Rob, just because it is dumb.

But I don't remember Rob sound the alarm about Covid. Not saying he didn't, but I don't remember it. Covid was actually being talked about in the news for months before it got to the U.S. and exploded. Most national news stations were reporting a virus outbreak in China as early as late 2019.

I do have something I remember about covid outbreak and shutdown that still pisses me off though. :D

My partner passed away in 2018. I tried to pick up some of the machine play VP mailer stuff he was doing. So in 2019, even though I was only playing part of what he did, it was all on my card, rather than spread out among several.

So Stations was big for us, and one of the ones I continued. Stations at that time had different mailers for different groups of casinos, like the basic station casinos, a separate mailer for their higher 2 casinos Red Rock and GVR, sperate mailer for the 2 Fiesta properties and sperate mailer for smaller Barleys, Wild west, Wildfire properties. Separate mailers but all the same account and players card.

So when my Partner was alive, he spread out play among a number of accounts. And my account only got up to President level (as did his). One of the perks of president were half price buffets and any of the dozen properties. So in 2019, the year after my partner passed, playing all play on one account, by years end I was at higher than usual. pretty close to top tier of Chairman. You had until Jan 31 to hit the tier that you would have for the next 12 months. i was close enough that I went for it in January 2020.

The benefit I was after was free buffets at any buffet, plus free for a guest. You could eat every day if you wanted or twice a day I guess. I figured I would at 3-4 times a week and at times take my brother or mother. It would be worth $5000 to me, especially with the more expensive Sunday and weekend night buffets.

So I got to use that perk for about 5 weeks. Then Casinos shut down and when they reopned....NO BUFFETS!! :mad: Got screwed royally.

Somebody once said something like: “It’s better late than never.”

It’s good too that you thanked Rob, because even though it was 5 and half years late, if you had not of thanked him, then when the next global pandemic hits he might have said something like “I was going to put a post on VCT to let everyone know about this new global pandemic, but when I posted about Covid back in January of 2020 no one said ‘thank you’ so as far as this new global pandemic fuck these ingrates!”
