They're so quick to suspend at WoV and so dilatory at reopening the gates.
My seven day suspension has passed yet those mods are asleep at the wheel and I am still in red.
What a way to run a message board.
Actually, you are Suspended for TWO weeks, not just one week. You got a one week Suspension for insulting me and Mdawg, and then you got another one week Suspension for insulting me and Mdawg again, so you got a two week Suspension.
In fact, here is a screenshot of your double Suspension.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/3UQHCTBX2HHVWatWA
Ms. Tasha, given how much your online capabilities have blossomed, perhaps the mighty MDawg might offer you a lower position in his law office?
Interesting, as the screenshot differs from what he posted in that section originally: he seems to have changed it.
Whatever...there is little transparency in the Land of the Lotus Eaters.
What is all this fascination with "suspension" on WoV? How the fu*k more lowlife/go nowhere/do nothing can you little people get? Are your pathetic lives REALLY that destroyed by being unable to post on that gay atheist forum?
Losers.
You're barking up the wrong tree there, Robert: I don't feel "destroyed" by being suspended.
I often deserve to be suspended as I flame and insult people.
But on this occasion I felt the suspension was unwarranted as my post was not insulting; on top of it the Wiz originally said I was banned for a week, but then he doubled it later: THAT is what I am yakking about.
They could nuke me and I wouldn't really give a flying fuck, provided it was in fact a well-deserved nuking.
Ran into someone that was claiming the WoV was stiffing people on a football contest of some sort by not paying prizes or something. What's going on?
That's the point V. All this worrying and posturing and foolishly messing around with being virtually "sanctioned", "punished", or whatever by the poor little people who become "offended" by what someone might write, is completely stupid. Why even bother with a forum that won't allow insults, people who express their true feelings or beliefs, or whose "harsh words" might drive the gay useless administrators into their safe little spaces?
That's why I read and post here. I can say and believe or disbelieve and SAY so in any fashion whatever I want, laugh at and enjoy the takedowns, demeaning verbal attacks, cussing, and lying. And my favorite: I can strategically manipulate anyone here to hate me enough to claim I'm a big fat liar whenever I choose to do it to them, and the fish will come to papa at will and as often as I demand they do. I did the same thing with the truth for 8 years st Gaming Today, which is why I remain their most popular columnist in the paper's history.
Teachable moment: these forums are for everyone's entertainment. You let it get to you and you just reduced your value in life. And act like it's the end-all in one's life (aka kew, tasha, and basically EVERYONE on WoV) and being seen as a loser will become a compliment.
Mission absconded with the proceeds. The Wizard thinks that Mission will come through because Mission has done it before. There seems to be a few members who didn't pay the entry fee, perhaps a reason that Mission isn't paying out. One of the members has agreed to pay up for Mission. A couple of angry members want their prize money. Mission was suspended until he pays out, and, he isn't talking here, either. Things have gone quiet about it there. But, that's gambling, in a nutshell, in that you get paid until you don't. Ha. Could be the last harrumph for old Mission.
Mission did not handle any "proceeds." The losers paid the winners directly. No middle man. Mission added money from his own pocket to the prize pool. That's the money in question.
Mission is not guilty of holding someone else's money. He's guilty of not paying what he promised from his own pocket.
Each year the sum the winners receive exceeds the sums paid in by participants, this year by around $1000. So, Misson146 runs this contest just because he enjoys it, and then foots the bill. He has said many times that he doesn't care about money, and his running this contest would support that mantra of his.
He is not sick or in a hospital, he just doesn't have the thousand or so to spare to pay out right now.
This issue could be solved, as I suggested at WOV, by M146's disclosure in advance of each contest that while payments to winners are guaranteed, they may be delayed and will not be paid on any particular schedule.
The top winner this year was some broke newbie, who got bent out of shape over getting paid late - the other long time forum participants wouldn't have cared as much.
You're right. There's no need for people to accuse the guy of being a flake when there are many perfectly good reasons why he disappeared after people started asking him to pony up. He could have been abducted by busty female aliens who have been using him to practice human sex. For all we know he could be holed up in a space ship getting sucked off 23 hours a day by a blue-skinned succubus with 4 legs and 5 big knockers. You think he has time to log in to WoV during his breaks??? The fact that he hasn't responded on any forums speaks volumes that he might be a sex slave to bosomy aliens. Have some compassion people!
Speaking of busty female aliens, I watched Under the Skin (2013) recently. It moves along slowly and I almost gave up on it half way through. It had only a 6.3 IMDB rating and I usually don't bother with anything under 7, but Scarlet Johansson is in it, so I was intrigued. She does parade around naked in it, doesn't look as good as I expected (nothing like Kristanna Loken in Terminator 3), although not bad.
Possibly the strangest movie I've ever seen. Watched it a second time more closely and I think I was able to comprehend it's meaning. I will disagree about Scarlet though... I think she looked awesome naked!
Careful Tasha, Druff just released your restrictions and talking to yourself with a sock is kind of annoying.
Mickey, the word, proceeds, denotes money raised (for a charity, or other non-profit expense, such as hospital equipment.) It doesn't per se denote a betting pool, which is a matter of money won, versus money lost. Therefore, especially given the "charitable" (begging) nature of the WoV, it was a fair choice of words. With Mission stiffing a charity of sorts.
Anyway, the only outstanding question is about Tasha being more attractive/intelligent than the Boz's wife. Ha.
Speaking of meaning, you have to be careful with ILBK's posts. He embeds several coded messages, in each one. Ha. Perhaps, you noticed that, on a subconscious level.
What he calls an "Easter egg hunt".
By the way, Happy Easter, every one!

Over at WOV, people are voting right and left "I believe MDawg" while MrV remains locked up (and the key thrown away), and over here UNKewlJ couldn't get elected...dogcatcher.
Like they say, sometimes love starts by hate. Except in KJ's case. Ha.
Your ego is writing checks that your life can't cash.
As for me still being "locked up:" that is not unusual there, they often are quick to suspend but slow to release.
Oh, as I am suspended I am unable to view the "suspension list" for some reason: does it still show a two week time out or has the Wiz changed it to a nuke?
Not that he should, but he could ... and I've been less than considerate of late.
Maybe I'll mellow out; I'm reading "Black Like Me" and it is instilling a tad of empathy.
MrV, your suspension ends on the 29th. Ha.
Oh. Karen brought up her story.
Oh, the Wizard, too, must, finally, finally be realizing that his sites are on their final death march. And, on some level, that is killing him, too. That he's lost all relevance in the world without redemption.Quote:
I am writing a Fictional Axl Rose story and I created a character named Mark Riley, around April 2023, a Maniac with a long criminal record , that is 20 years old and does a loud, aggressive, obnoxious, banging on doors, and tries to break into locked Hotel Rooms by repeatedly running into the door. He even broke into a house and stole $50,000 and accidentally did Arson when he accidentally left a pizza in an oven. My Fictional Mark Riley has been tazed at least twice by the Police for trying to break into Hotel Rooms. It's eerily similar to what the real life guy was doing just a couple of months after I created Mark Riley(Without the arson and the axe) . That awkward moment when my Fictional Character kind of came to life!
---> The Concept of Anxiety: A Simple Psychologically Orienting Deliberation on the Dogmatic Issue of Hereditary Sin.
https://anagram-solver.net/Ibroughtu...r?partial=true
Quote:
The Concept of Anxiety: A Simple Psychologically Orienting Deliberation on the Dogmatic Issue of Hereditary Sin (Danish: Begrebet Angest) is a philosophical work written by Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard in 1844.
The original 1944 English translation by Walter Lowrie (now out of print), was named The Concept of Dread. The Concept of Anxiety was dedicated "to the late professor Poul Martin Møller". Kierkegaard used the pseudonym Vigilius Haufniensis (which, according to Josiah Thompson, is the Latin transcription for "the Watchman" of Copenhagen) for The Concept of Anxiety.
All of Kierkegaard's books have either a preface, dedication, or prayer at the beginning. This book includes a lengthy introduction. The Concept of Anxiety was published on exactly the same date as Prefaces, June 17, 1844. Both books deal with Hegel's idea of mediation. Mediation is a common thread throughout Kierkegaard's works. His work up to this point was to show that faith was being mediated by knowledge. Here he takes up the questions of sin and guilt.
For Kierkegaard, anxiety/dread/angst is "freedom's actuality as the possibility of possibility." Kierkegaard uses the example of a man standing on the edge of a tall building or cliff. When the man looks over the edge, he experiences an aversion to the possibility of falling, but at the same time, the man feels a terrifying impulse to throw himself intentionally off the edge. That experience is anxiety or dread because of our complete freedom to choose to either throw oneself off or to stay put. The mere fact that one has the possibility and freedom to do something, even the most terrifying of possibilities, triggers immense feelings of dread. Kierkegaard called this our "dizziness of freedom."
Kierkegaard focuses on the first anxiety experienced by man: Adam's choice to eat from God's forbidden tree of knowledge or not. Since the concepts of good and evil did not come into existence before Adam ate the fruit, Adam had no concept of good and evil, and did not know that eating from the tree was "evil". What he did know was that God told him not to eat from the tree. The anxiety comes from the fact that God's prohibition itself implies that Adam is free and that he could choose to obey God or not. After Adam ate from the tree, sin was born. So, according to Kierkegaard, anxiety precedes sin. Kierkegaard mentions that anxiety is the presupposition for hereditary sin (which Augustine was the first to call peccatum originale, "original sin").
However, Kierkegaard mentions that anxiety is a way for humanity to be saved as well. Anxiety informs us of our choices, our self-awareness and personal responsibility, and brings us from a state of un-self-conscious immediacy to self-conscious reflection. (Jean-Paul Sartre calls these terms pre-reflective consciousness and reflective consciousness.) An individual becomes truly aware of their potential through the experience of anxiety. So, anxiety may be a possibility for sin, but anxiety can also be a recognition or realization of one's true identity and freedom. Alternatively, sin exists in the very resolution of anxiety through right and wrong; to embrace anxiety is to not pass judgment.
The universe is merely a fleeting idea in God's mind—a pretty disquieting thought, especially if you've just made a down payment on a house.
You keep talking about seven figures as if that's a lot of money for a house these days.
I only mentioned it because I read that you said you were buying / closing on one; my comment does imply ignorance on my part as to the current value of a dollar.
All junkies claim they've been clean "for about four days."
Thanks for the clarification. The way I heard it, sounded like it was some WoV sponsored contest that was not being paid.
I would have thought Mission would have had a few bucks by now. Guess not. Not sure why someone with kids would freeroll something when they don't have anything to begin with. Clown world marches on. Oh well.
It's not correct to infer that Mission146 has anyone's money - rather that he, as the sponsor of the contest, owes the winners out of his own kick. His nose is open for about a thousand for this year's contest, by his own choice.
I don't know if he intends to cover for the few who didn't pay their entrance fees, but still, it's not like he ever received anything to hold or hand out to anyone. All entrance fees were/are owed directly to the winners.
If I got it wrong, please anyone who actually participates in this contest - correct me.
The real question is WHY he does this every year - run a contest where he ends up having to cover the shortfall. However, he has explained that he doesn't care about money, and obviously gets some enjoyment out of it.
I have to say that seems like the most worthless way to donate $1000 ever conceived.
Yes I would, I've encountered you, and I know V!
Another habit you'll never give up is insulting people in a malicious way, :D including people who haven't even asked for it or deserved it.

Then I'm one of the rare ones. Never smoked anything. I've always believed (and was trained to believe) purposefully putting smoke of any kind into your lungs was simply asking for trouble--sooner or later.
This rejection is one of the reasons why, at nearly 75, I'm still in near perfect health, and I have no problem getting into assholes' faces when necessary. It's also a driver behind how we're able to maintain a travel schedule a trucker would marvel at.
Staying home stoned and wondering with that fried brain of yours, what could have been V?
I sometimes do wonder what else I could or would have done, sure, but I've no real regrets.
I mean, it's not like I failed at life: I don't sponge off my family, I've never been arrested or sued, my current state of health is good enough that I've no real limitations, and I managed to put together a decent law practice for 40 years: not too shabby for a pot-head, eh?
The one thing I wonder about when I posit the question "What if I never got high?" concerns the world of politics: had I given a rat's ass I could perhaps have done OK in the political arean, but I am politically phlegmatic.
Oh well, we make our choices and live the consequences.
At the risk of sounding innovative, I wonder that end-of-life report cards don't underscore their further futility. I mean that kids play around with that sort of thing, but, most move on to other dimensions, and goals, of life, overall. It just seems hollow or whatever to speak of such, on the end of things, in that there's no "University of Death" to apply to.
P.S. It's great that the Wizard didn't secretly "muzzle you", but, you're still never able to say a lot there. Ha. An eternity would pass there compared to the stuff aired out here.Quote:
Findings indicate that innovators are more likely to be intrinsically motivated; they don’t need to be rewarded by others to go after something that they believe is meaningful or interesting. Grades, on the other hand, are an external motivator. Students who are competing for that top spot or highest score might not be as good at putting in work on something that they don’t know will lead to a reward. Not having a clear picture of what success looks like or how to game the system to get that highest score can make innovation and entrepreneurship less appealing for people who are motivated by grades and high GPAs.

What exactly would you "win," other than an all expenses paid trip to the hoosegow?
Please Robert, curb your violent nature; perhaps you could direct your energy into finding new, exploitable gambling glitches like the Double Up Bug, or easier yet, you could perfect the art of internet trolling: no end to the targets nor the fun, eh?
BTW V, did you take a look at that thread? Since you seem to have respect for analyzing the rules of the WOV forum I mean.
This post of AxelWolf's violates multiple WOV rules, at least (1), (2), (3):
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gamb...ng/#post921816
I enter into evidence ZenKing, the I only play Black Jack, purist. Who for years called the Card Counters who started playing slots "BUTTON PUSHING FRAUDS"
Guess what, Zenking is also playing now? That's right, he is now officially a "BUTTON PUSHING FRAUD"
1) The rule against importing drama from other forums, which Wizard recently, in a post directed specifically against AxelWolf no less when he suspended him 2/25/2024, made clear that quoting or importing drama from other forums was against the rules:
https://i.imgur.com/BQHiFCNl.jpg
2) Informing us of the current (post nuke) status and activities of a Nuked member ( "he is now officially a 'BUTTON PUSHING FRAUD'" ):
WOV Rule 16: Messages from banned members: Do not quote anything, neither public nor private, a banned member has said. If we ban somebody it means we don't want to hear from them any longer.
3) Insults ZenKing calling him a "BUTTON PUSHING FRAUD"
WOV Rule 1: Absolutely no personal insults. Banned members still retain insult protection.
And then, once AxelWolf opened the floodgates, in came Terapined with his "importing drama" post:
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info...57/#post922372
Terapined actually referred to "follow the drama" and "the constant whining" at VCT
"was entertained by the constant whining"
"Lots of duplicate whines."
And then ChumpChange jumped on the wagon
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info...57/#post922373
and quoted MDawg directly from VCT, which violates the same rules I mentioned above that apply to Wolf, including about quoting from other forums.
It's not that any of that MATTERS in the scheme of things, but you are right when you pointed out both here and at WOV, that my mind sees clearly the posts for what they are, when they violate the rules. I don't want to be a WOV moderator, but if I were, I wouldn't need a pow wow with the others to discuss whether or not someone had broken the rules. I'd know, right away, if he did, or did not, and exactly why.
lmao wizard dropping in with 3 day bans. This site is LOL. Opinions are funny.
I can't imagine ever being a regular on that forum for various reasons. It is a weird thing forums like this. WOV is like the girls you knew in HS 20 years later .. I call them hens. cluck cluck clucking. If you want that sorta thing then sure. In absolute numbers they definitely have more knowledgeable people on there but then there are so many goddam clucking hens to sort through it is a wash.
When that cat-fucker dude showed up here we quickly showed his ass the door and thats how it should be. Over there they just accept there are cat-fuckers in their midst. ugh awful. clucky hens and cat fuckers. no thanks.
Well now, it seems that the ever increasingly suspension-happy Wizard has suspended terapined for a new offense, one which I think he made up on the fly: "posting from another forum."
The suspension was not for "importing drama from another forum;" heck, gordon888, a mod there, opined that terapined's post was not a violation of the rule, but the increasingly crotchedy Wizard just announced a new rule, de facto: no posting anything from another forum.
Wow...looks like we're Outlaws.
*golf clap*
If I were going for a political science PhD I would write something about how moderated forums can exhibit all the characteristics of a tyrannized society. WoV is not even that bad compared to others I've seen. The sycophancy, the conformity, the snitching and favoritism, the dogpiling on whoever falls out of favor with the mods. The bitter exiles forming communities on other forums, obsessing over the possibility of return.
In a nutshell, internet and other forums come down to,
--->
List of Celebrity Big Brother (U.S. TV series) houseguests.
List of Hieronymus Bosch - Visions of Genius (exhibition).

Quote:
A group of contestants, known as "HouseGuests," who live in a purpose-built house, known as the Big Brother House, with no contact from the outside world. The contestants compete in competitions for safety and for power over the household before voting each other out in an attempt to be the last HouseGuest remaining and win a grand prize (pledged by members like Mission146. Closet voyeurs like MrV are welcome, up to a point. Ha.)
The problem begins and ends with how blind and weak many of these forum members really are. If you look at all posts as simple entertainment that fills in some of your legitimate spare time, you get what you expect out of your invested reading time. But if you're like the majority of posters who expect to push their beliefs upon others and are obsessive about the resulting & sometimes offensive/insulting discussions somehow becoming the end-all in what is probably a sour overall life to begin with, then a person gets what they ask for--and deservedly so.
Mission has now been suspended for 3 weeks. I wonder if he is now fucking with Shack by not paying. The suspension until he pays may have been the straw that broke the camels back. Shack had been picking on Mission before the prize money became a thing. Shack paid the bill then suspended Mission until he pays. Mission may now be saying "Fuck You, Shack!"
He hasn't made a post here or on WoV since before he was suspended at WoV.
Sir Shackalot is off to see the Wizard, err, eclipse in Waco. Babs made a surprise visit to suggest that he call her, first, if he ventures off to the Waco compound, a few miles out of town, so that she can keep tabs on him, in case he runs his mouth in front of the wrong person. Ha. As they say, you can't make it up, and, the Wiz now leads such a self- arm-twisted life .... because he's the Wiz (to five or six people over there).
It baffles me as to how some people get so excited over an eclipse.
We know why, when and how it happens, it's no mystery, just a rarity.
Sure, it's unusual, I guess that's the attraction.
Some "wizards" get spooked by an eclipse...

BeachBumBabs is offering to keep track of Wizard's whereabouts to make sure he reports back after visiting Branch Davidian?

The occurrence of total eclipses of the sun aren't a mystery, or to be unexpected given the laws of physics, but, it's a stretch that ours seems to be the only one at the right distance, for the moon to cover the sun, and, that we came along at the right age of the moon in its expanding orbit from the Earth.
People claim that it's only a rough fit, but, were it exact, then would there be a "path of totality"? Ha.
In all honesty I feel people have more bonding on this site than that site. More mutual respect for various reasons. Redietz is the only true outsider
Shackleford reminds me of Sklansky with that little disabled girl he kept in the basement.
I really don't see how someone could defend Mission. I don't know the details. Regardless of whatever, once you tell someone they are getting paid you pay them. Once you create the contest you create the obligation. Seems pretty simple to me. A 10 year old understands that.
Sue?
Si.
The thread is worth a read. I started about here:
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gamb...11/#post918754
As compensation for the delay, Mission adds 10% to the designated payouts but is otherwise a dick about it. Late payouts have been a recurring problem through the years, apparently.
Wizard comes into the thread to suspend Mission and check for expletives. Here's the reaction from the irritated contest winner:
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gamb...12/#post921176
I think the forum rules need a list of prohibited profanity. Maybe Mission can work on that after his suspension.
WTF kind of nonsense goes on at WoV anyway. Now I see why you people stay so infatuated with it. It's nothing but a dumb soap opera.
OBVIOUSLY, Mission has financial problems. People keep saying he's a "stand-up guy". Really? He's basically portrays himself as someone who lives "paycheck to paycheck" and writes $10 articles etc. without two nickels to rub together. WHY would anybody with half a brain allow him to be in charge of something like this---especially with the history of delays and problems he has??
The embarrassment continues with offers of discounted markers, amazon giftcards, doubletalk-laced excuses, a childish 3-week suspension, and a broke contest winner. What entertainment! Bottom line is, the only person who should've stepped in RIGHT AWAY to make the payouts as they deserved to be made, is Shack. All this other posturing by the gallery is BS.
That forum should be shut down immediately with SHAME as the reason.
This whole story is LOL.
It would be funny if Mission didn't pay just to troll shack but the $500 won't matter to shack. Hopefully Mission keeps posting on here. $500 isn't worth it.
DJ Chaps doing his thing.
If the best we get is leftover WOV drama then I'll take it. Kewl needs to grind out that EV before he comes back to tell us how it went.
Honestly, it's hard to feel too one way, or the other, about or for Mission146. After all, he was - if I recall - the only other person, on the gambling boards, to try his hand at the new-age numerology.
What another neat thread that was, still is. And, with an almost page-long post from old Monet looking for attention of any sort.
But, you have to have the "horsepower" to bring around the gematria stuff, related to all of the God-talk, or, end up suffering the consequences, and holding your pieces, which, in Mission's case, was going full-on nuts. Ha. Not that long ago, Mission146 wrote of what each of us would be doing at a VegasCasinoTalk meet-and-greet.
And, how prophetic was the final numeral above, 1720 = 172*10 ---> 1721, the complement of 1961. Not only by rotation, but, also by 142 = 1*2*71, and, 137 = (100 + √(900) + 6 + 1).
And his last post here, which was a reply to me.
*takes piss, goes back to bed*
DJ_Chaps, the guy that Mission stiffed is a broke ass loser. He's a member of PFA in the libtard faction, a Canuck.
So he starts this thread on PFA last year about how he lost his job and needs to borrow money from PFA members for a few months to pay his rent. I don't know how many sent him money but 6 months later no one had been payed back. People started complaining.
Meanwhile he get's wind of this freeroll on WoV that Mission runs every year and jumps in.
So Chaps wins the contest. Mission is slow pay and Chaps starts bitching about it. Meanwhile people on WoV are bitching at Chaps for not paying back the money they loaned him.
https://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sh...MP-POST/page39
I KNEW something was VERY familiar about the DJ Chaps name, thanks for refreshing my memory that he's the guy who begged PFA Members for rent money. I begged four PFA Members for money myself after losing money chasing Bingo cards and lost, and realized that begging people on PFA for money was creepy and I stopped. I had been a PFA Member for about a year when I did the creepy begging, DJ Chaps had been a Member for years when he begged for money so obviously he had a lot more pull for asking money than I did. Posters were like,"I trust DJ Chaps will actually pay his rent with the loaned money, with Karen Nathan, she asked for money after losing it chasing Bingo cards. I'm much more inclined to loan DJ Chaps money than Karen Nathan." I didn't know that DJ Chaps never paid back the money that was loaned to him. That's a REALLY shitty thing to do and makes him a Welcher. A guy in a Casino got punched in his face for not paying back a $10,000 loan. I'm not saying that DJ Chaps deserves to get punched in his face, I'm just saying that at least one person got punched in the face for doing the same thing DJ Chaps did. And DJ Chaps going hard after Mission for not paying him on time is rich considering that DJ Chaps never paid back money he borrowed.
Tasha, you've been a member here long enough to persuade people of your bonafides, so the next time Lady Luck shits in your hideous handbag I suggest you beg the members of VCT for money. We're a compassionate bunch of guys who'd like nothing more than to help fund another gambler as she challenges Lady Fortuna in the Bingo hall. Some of us have more money than we need and would be willing to help out when asked nicely.
It's more of a kinda cool, old-fashioned lakefront cabin than a newer house, made with beautiful NH pine: but sure, why not? Since I started reading "Black Like Me" my world-view has opened considerably. Alas, there's no Bingo or Pop Eyes Chicken shacks to be had in the immediate area, but there's a great clam shack down the road.
And get permission from Guido to install a few slot machines, table games, and a bingo hall. A few flyers for the clam shack. What "Old Sport" doesn't know won't hurt him. Ha.
