Ok, let's talk about anonymity. AP must have anonymity. The very industry that we play goes to great lengths (and expense) to identify us and stop us from playing. We see new examples of this all the time just read Alan's thread about Boyd casino's new policies specifically targeting AP's.

We aren't hiding behind anonymity as per our claims and experiences. We aren't running from anything. That is why most of us use the same handle, or slight variation throughout numerous forums. AND many in the community either personally know one another or at least know of one another including real names. I, myself am not big on meeting other AP's and some in the community look down on me for that. As a matter of fact, that is one of the issues that has kept me off a very private forum, run and populated by top blackjack AP's, including many of the BJHoF guys. I just am not comfortable with that. There are too many people, including AP's that have switched sides over the years, including people that I like or respected like Shackleford and Stanford Wong, among others. I weigh everything in terms of risk vs reward and mixing business with pleasure currently presents too much risk at this stage of my career.

Ok, so I got a little further into that than I intended, but anyway. People and/or players that are not concerned about anonymity and use their real names, are likely not real AP's in this day and age. The exception is some of the older guys, like a Don Schlesinger. Some use names that are not their real names but they are known by or publish under, like Munchkin, Dancer ect. I am not sure why or how Shackleford missed the boat on this one and chose to use his real name. But then again, I am not all that sure of how much Shackleford depends on APing for income or ever did. He doesn't talk about it and I just don't know.

Now being that Singer's real name is well known, because he is so obnoxious that different people took it upon themselves to find out and make it known, it is fair to use that information. This is actually my position on hole-carding. I don't seek out that information, but if I know it, I am going to use it. So anyway, I suggest people look up Singer's real name, read the information that is publicly available because this guy is NOT who he says or claims. Almost nothing about him is as he says it is. And that should tell anyone interested all they need to know about all his other claims. All nonsense, alternative reality.

Remember one of my favorite sayings "It doesn't take all that much to figure out who knows what they are talking about and who is just talking"? Well for those that missed the boat on seeing that ("doesn't take all that much") or simply didn't want to see it for whatever reason, maybe you too don't like AP's or some of the particular AP's on this forum, I suggest you use the information available and spend a few minutes looking into this troll and his agenda. If you honestly do, all your questions will be answered. :cool:

Freedom of speech? Sure I buy freedom of speech to a point. And that includes the likes of Alan posting that he saw 18 y.o.'s in a row (he didn't). It also includes Singer posting his looney tune Singer VP strategy and claims that flies in the face of mathematics and reality. I believe it is the responsibility of the rest of us to continually debunk these false claims.

But I don't think all of Singer and now Blackhole's personal attacks should fall under the category of "free speech". These nasty personal attacks are usually not even on subject matter. These attacks serve a purpose for these trolls. The intent is to 1.) change the subject away from the fact that whatever particular topic is being discussed, flies in the face of mathematics and reality. And 2.) serve as a warning and deterrent to anyone else not to challenge such claims or they too will be subject to such personal attacks.

And while #2 is meant as a specific deterrent to anyone challenging the alternate reality of these clowns, it has a broader effect of deterring new members that visit the site or just lurk from joining in and participating.

Question about me aand WON. I have WON insulting me to this day in emails presumably because I let him think I was a man when we planned to meet at Gulfstream Park Casino and I showed up as a woman and coyly answered his questions on WOV about whether I was a man or a woman saying something like,"Go up to the person wearing all black playing Coyote Moon to find out!" WON left without ever meeting me and wrote that he was hesitant to meet me because he was looking for a man and saw a woman instead and thought he was being played. In my defense, I asked him twice what he looked like and he ignored me both times. Someone on WOV mentioned I was ignored when I asked him what he looked like and mentioned I would have said "Hi," if I knew what he looked like. We even mentioned in detail the big bag I had(I mentioned it in detail first. )He had mentioned that he thought I was a Troll and would give me a $100 Macy's gift card if I could prove to him in the real world that I was real. After the failed meetup, I asked him if I still would get the $100 Macy's gift card. He was infuriated and told me I didn't deserve crap because I had him thinking that I was a man. Posters pointed out that he said,"Prove to me that you are real and I will give you a $100 Macy's gift card, " so he needed to give me the gift card or look like a Welsher who doesn't keep his word, his choice. WON pointed out that a man named Nathan didn't show up, a woman named Karen showed up and he promised Nathan a $100 gift card. The reply was,"The person posting as Nathan showed up, so give that lady her $100 gift card." Won created a new thread and asked if he owed me the gift card. The majority was,"You owe her half. . She showed up as a woman and not man. Won gave me a card that had already been used up by the time I tried to use it and the value was supposed to be $50. My problem with her is that she uses socks and is Kendry but won’t admit it. There is no doubt in my mind the Wizard believes it but see’s humor in her. As we all know he enjoys belittling people (Like Restaurant Servers), he sees as less intelligent than him. But I don’t get him as someone says he is a stickler for rules but ignores them with her.

It’s funny that her and WoN are forever linked as they both were allowed to use socks with moderators knowledge for some unknown reason. They deserve each other.

While I don't read most of what Nathan/Tasha/karen post, the difference is that Nathan (for short) don't try to mislead other players with false AP, alternative math crap....at least not that I am aware of. In the absence of that, such a person (whether Nathan or someone else) is what Dan Druff recently described a harmless forum clown. And that's ok, because like you said, WoV is mostly not about anything AP, it is now much more entertainment oriented.

But when a person starts intentionally misleading other members and players with alternative math and facts and likely for some kind of profit or benefit that is an entirely different kind of troll and one that I strongly object to on any kind of site that is supposed to have anything to do with providing real information.
