Good idea for Rob, but I wouldn't bet that either. If he was talking about a bet with the wager of who tips the cocktail waitress at Caesars for the free drinks, I would do it.

Then lucky for you that Internet bets never go anywhere, no matter what the amount. The one time I thought differently was when Bob Dancer e-mailed me and my book publisher, proposing a $20k bet on something about playing my strategy. I took a n extra trip just for this bet to meet at the spot he set up at the cashier at the Aladdin with my publisher. He never showed. When I got home he had an e-mail waiting for me apologizing and wishing me good luck.
It was then that my beliefs about him being a phony were confirmed.
Can you explain this obsession with Bob Dancer? He doesn't even post here.
How many hundreds of posts have you made here that mention him? I think the search feature doesn't work completely, so it might omit some, but I could do a database search to get the exact number if I really cared.
When was the last time that Dancer wrote about you? I'm guessing it's been years.
You come off like a jilted ex girlfriend. You even based your screen name on his. Do you have a gay crush on Dancer or something?
Do you have a gay crush on Dancer or something? Ha Ha Ha! good one!
There sure are a lot of gays at the Wizard of Vegas.

P.S. mc, Ozzy didn't tip you. All of that for NOTHING!
Gambling psychology, for one related matter, is so much more interesting than actually going out and doing it.
However, the gambling forums have been well on the decline since 2010.
P.S. Hope that I haven't wrecked anyone's dinner.

Interesting.
Maybe Rob is in the closet. It would explain the unhappy look on his wife's face in that Tahoe picture.
BTW, one of the biggest gambling degenerates of all time, Terrance Watanabe, is gay.

I didn't do it for money. And you can bet that it is totally out of the question for me to come behind the fact that he hit it and expect anything. I passed the information on out of professional courtesy.Quote:

Congratulations once again to Alan for proving that variance is a big part of VP. I can still remember Alan wondering about machine's being random just a few years ago when he was in a RF drought. What goes around comes around.
My own results are are the drought side. I had my last RF about 125K hands ago. The previous one to that took 175K hands. So, that's one RF in my last 300K hands. As part of that streak I have now gone 231 tries since the last time I hit when dealt 4 to the royal.
OTOH, I have still won money every year going back to 2003. However, this year might end the streak since I only started playing in October and the edge is much smaller than what I was playing before. I will need some royals to win.
The basic problem here is that we rarely hear about the vast majority of guys who commit to gambling, especially to some aspect of it, but lose their "asses".
The cardinal rule of gambling ought to be to do neither. It's like you have to keep it in the periphery to be successful at it. No standard benefits or unions to protect when a side bet is taken down, or the rules of a game are quietly changed in some small detail.
If you've spent any time in the environment, zero professional courtesy becomes the first lesson. More likely, someone will try to turn you in for something. Casinos hold some mystical sway over people.
A lot of people win for a while. They would anyway. The chances of being up in the short to moderate terms is exceptionally high. Throw in some aspect of chasing, and the variances could propel you into the "stratosphere". People start to believe. Worst of all, YOU believe it. Sure, it's recreational. Tell yourself that. But everyone is addicted to everything to a degree. So, takes only some relatively common sequence of events to escalate matters. Doesn't even have to do with gambling.
As for the few dedicated professionals - you could count them on the fingers of one hand - today's casinos throw them out the front door. On the other hand, and much more commonly, the few guys who manage to consistently score some pocket change are quietly cheated, and otherwise discouraged from playing. It's a lot cheaper than the legal paperwork. Yeah, I know. A lot of casinos are penalized, so the casinos don't cheat. Problem with that argument is that the penalties are nonsensical. Nothing stuff for letting a player dance on a table. Why would the casinos cheat, they don't have to? Hear that one a lot too.
But, we don't all hear about the actual cheating because there aren't any writers with the "balls" to go after the actual stories where those arise. Same as you won't find a serious lawyer to represent you if it happens to you, and you want to take it to the next level (out of hellry). Lawyers depend upon the business. You'll get a cheap lawyer, only to find out that he's trying for some of that outsourcing, himself. Lol.
Society is a great thing, as you play along with the Simon Says. But, what's the point of that? An other sort of question. Do we deserve immortality? If you don't know enough to know that it's been acquired, then you're out in left field. Nobody's going to tell you that either.
(Glad I copied this, it didn't get through the first time. Some sort of glitch with this board.)
Nothing....and only those intimidated by others do such wasteful things. That cheapskate Ozzy OTOH would have nothing without Alan, and along comes creepy & sleazy broke mickey to take the credit.
Pathetic.
The credit I would have liked was a link to this Forum... and the traffic it would bring. That credit would have bee. Very valuable.
Maybe you would like that, but with all the transvestite and homo-based discussion that goes on over there that the Wizard for some strange reason has tolerated, it's best they stay in their hideaways where they can bother the same people while the inexperienced and stupified collection of useless administrators WoV forum employs, continue to k iss butt in disturbing ways.
Interesting. Didn't we read that once those ancient OEJ games were taken out (because of spare parts' procurement difficulties) you would no longer play since everything else has a lesser "edge"?
Why do you count how many times you hit/miss on four to the royal--how does that mean anything to the "edge"?
Now the big question: you seem to have faith that you will get those royals that will allow that tiny percentage to run its theoretical course. Isn't that the same thing as claiming you know what the machines will do?
What's for dinner and when? We'll be at White Bear Lake Nov.15th thru just after New Year's. I'm told Rochester is an easy drive in the right weather.
http://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambl...e-at-71-000/5/
Okay, I put the link up in that thread over at the Wiz's.
Will it stay up?
P.S. If you want the number-1 site, then you'll have to provide the number-1 tips to winning.
I can do that and have, both on this forum, as well as on WIZARD'S forum in the past. But when it came time for me to do a 10-session demo for the pack of theoretical geniuses over there, they all scrambled for the exits.
Now that they've also seen that Alan is a true breaking-news luminary in video poker, maybe they'll toss aside all that mercy-driven, phony "congratulatory" BS for homos and confused/convicted transvestites who think that same sex marriage is the current rage because Obama flip-flopped just to get votes in 2012.
I wouldn't call myself a "breaking-news luminary" in video poker. I just got the info first and put it online before others did.
If I deserve a pat on the back, it was for telling everyone about when Rincon downgraded their pay tables and within 48 hours Rincon had such a negative backlash from readers of my site that they reversed what they did. (If you think the paytables are bad now with 8/5 Jacks you should have seen what they tried to pull off some time back.)
It's all in the same coordinates Alan. The WoV members are all scared shi*less of posting anything that might make one of their fellow phony vp players uneasy. It's the most close-minded, sensitive, and needy forum of all time. My guess is, whoever bought that part of Shack's work already has buyer's remorse, esp. if it's owned by real men.
Of course. But I doubt that anyone's been told the whole story. The one thing I've learned from there over the years is that nothing is real. I've seen lie after lie, and cover up after cover up.
Certainly, you can't go around making up untoward whole threads and replies of posters who question the Wizard's clearly questionable professional ethics, etc, and ever expect to accomplish something really great in the mainstream.
Why pay millions for an inferior presentation of the math and other science work of the actual mathematicians? Doesn't make a lot of sense. A lot of the membership corrected Shackleford's dated bit, and some authored extensive pages for him, but none of whom were even acknowledged at the time of the supposed sale. Shackleford used to take offence at being corrected on his own forum, asking that he be PM'ed instead.
Accountants and actuaries aren't mathematicians. People on gambling sites have no idea. Unless you've gone the higher education route, you'd have no way to tell. Suffice it to say, they subscribe to different professional associations.
Shackleford did slot machine consulting. Tried to get a full-time job at the Venetian because he admittedly hated the piecemeal work, but was let go after the probationary three months. Whoopee! His severely juvenile attempts at solving the online paradoxes were a clumsy joke, but people over there "ate it up". Gamblers have to believe.

I thought I'd keep up the pressure on arci by bringing these questions he's dodging to the forefront once again :) You see, I know him--he can't take looking foolish, esp. on a gaming forum. Oh we'll now see him come on non-chalantly with a train-load of pedestrian excuses like "I was out of town" or "the dog ate the computer" or "I was playing 102 holes of golf" or my personal favorite "I was in a bowling-for-falsies marathon". It's what happens to him when the tough questions are asked and he can't find the right chapter in any of those math books he constantly consults with. Unlike when Obama pretended to be answering O'Reilly's dingers on super bowl Sunday, arci has to put his responses in writing, after, of course, trying his best to make himself believe others see this calling out and his weaseling around as no big deal.
So come on, man---wipe away the sweatbeads rolling down that shiny round forehead of yours and give us what we're waiting for!!
http://grochowski.casinocitytimes.co...h-attack-58093
Read the article then I will tell you how Grochowski got this all wrong.
Well, it would be nice to have people begin to explain what they're going on about. You could be the smartest teacher in the world. But, if you can't properly communicate any of it, nobody's going to pass the course. Don't assume that everyone else knows what you're talking about either.
Certainly won't be any questions - only the ongoing feuds - when you don't "set the table" first.
You play at the Flamingo. Lol.
What are flush attack's? ;)
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...lushAttack.jpg
This just gets better, and better!
That $1,000 bet is still open.
I like to wait for the accusors to become a bit testy before I extend the offer. Lol.
What are you going to do? Keep guessing. You don't have the "balls". 10 to 1 odds.
Yeah, they cleaned you out. But you're still up on the joint. Right?
And, I got another reaction out of you.
I bet that they still send you an offer now and then.
Mickey and his "flush attack" machines again. Always living in the past, back to the days that created a losing gambler out of him that was the cause of his having to move to Montana away from the lure of real gambling. In the land of maximum $800 "jackpots", 10% edges, cheap beer, & no dental plans, it's been possible to create many phony stories of ferocious brute gambling told to a forum of homos and transvestites, who gives "lip service" at the drop of a hat....If you know what I mean. :)
I used to share a house on Bluff Avenue - a worse part of old Vegas now - many years ago with a black guy.
He was a cab driver who put all his money on the craps tables. Used to hold his jaw a lot.
P.S. I have to add that, though would often spot him a hundred or two after work... he always paid me back.
(Americans are much more outgoing and honest than Canadians. Same for their casinos.)
They were taken out at the casino closest to me. They still have them in a few other casinos. I'm now going to one of those casinos.
I keep track of lots of stats. It's something mathematicians have a tendency to do. One never knows what the machines will do in the short term but over time the odds prevail. The more one plays the more likely they are to approach the statistical frequency distribution based on random deals. While I haven't hit a RF for quite awhile I hit 5 wild royals (1000 credits) yesterday in about 4 hours (average about one in 6 hours at my rate of play on these machines (3700 hands). That alone was worth about the same as a royal.
I drive through WBL (35E) when I go to the Grand Casino Hinckley. A little over an hours drive. Or, you can go up to Hinckley and play the OEJs machines for yourself. I'm there on Sundays this month (7x points + $100 in freeplay). Was up over $2K with my play yesterday but still no royal.
PS. I'm sure they will comp you dinner if you play enough. They have plenty of 97% DDB/SDB and BP (or A&F). Should be right in your wheelhouse. If you win I'll expect a nice finder's fee. ;)
Wrong dinner arci.... but right on queue! I won't be going to any Indian casinos, and ESPECIALLY when we're visiting family. Please identify the day and time--but if you'd like we'll take both of you out instead at the place of your choice. (No KFC of course:))
All those stats--they're actually meaningless as you know. You just like watching numbers collect, repeat, divide, add, subtract and multiply. Why bother going all the way to that casino to stimulate yourself in that manner when you can stay at home and do the same thing on the computer? Or you could record how many times you scratch an itch or blink, then compare your monthly results to that of the Stephen Hawkings of the world? That ought to be interesting statistical observation, don't you think?
I spend my time with good people. To think I would spend one minute with you is quite hilarious. You picked on my wife endless times for her enjoyment of VP. You celebrated the death of people you don't even know. You are pure scum and all I would do if I met you in public is mock you. You are a waste of oxygen and one can only hope you've gotten your just rewards. Since you've been forced out of your small apartment into a trailer I suspect you really are getting exactly what you deserve.
Ahhhh---love is in the air.
Hit my second royal of the year yesterday on .25 DDBP. We were down $300 before the hit and decided not to push our luck anymore, left $700 up.
Only $300 in #3116 at Rincon when I scored quad aces on Royal Aces Bonus. After I played off another hand, I switched to Aces and Faces and cashed out $400 -- getting back my original money plus another $100.
:) A shame your wife can't say the same.....
You see arci, you need to man up to the fact that YOU are a significant part of the cause of all her anguish, suffering, and lack of certain parts these days. One need only look back at your vp addiction that caused HER vp addiction, and how you just HAD to make that fateful move to LV just to be closer to the machines while ignoring her health issues that required so much more attention for healthier alternatives. Now, sure, I laugh at you--and her for that matter--for your lack of compassion and her lack of intelligence. And both of you definitely are receiving your just rewards for allowing this to perpetuate in the face of disaster, which it really has turned out to be. I suppose your one tiny piece of silver lining in all this is to have watched your vp hero Dancer similarly treat his wife with utter disrespect because of HIS acute problem gambling issue also. Monkey see, monkey do, I guess.
Your invite I take it has been voided. But I'll still give you the opportunity to show you haven't lost all touch with other types of life besides casinos and, if you can bear with me on this, the hospice sort of life. I'll still take the drive and knock on your front door to see if you are the type that is just blowing off steam here and has the wherewithal to drop the grudge--esp. in the spirit of the most holy Christmas holiday.
Sorry bozo but you don't get to rewrite history. My wife was the one that first started playing VP. She loved it. Try as you might to obscure reality, it is clearly YOU are has been addicted to VP for decades. You attempt to claim others are addicted so you can feel better about yourself. Sorry, you know, I know and everyone else knows you don't have the willpower or intelligence to quite gambling even though it has ruined both your life and your families. You penchant for projection has always been informative.
Denial, deflection and diversion: The well-known traits of a poor soul in obvious pain.
Try as you may, I'll still attempt a knock on your door during the holidays and see if my visit can brighten up the dismal, dreary time you both must be going thru....in (I LOVE this one...) in SPADES!!! In fact, I'll make a prediction: my visit may even be MORE important to you, and naturally her, than any of your visits to those Indian casinos that have you on their hooks. And I need not bowl for falsies to have a good time :)
Do you think we should have a separate thread for Arc vs Singer: World War III and leave this one for big casino wins and jackpots?
Yes coach, that was a hint for our two wonder warriors.
Then I won't say anything further, having brought arci to his weakened knees yet again. Only the timid turn down offers of "peace & friendship" during this festive and most holy holiday season. But I will not give up hope. How an educated fellow like arci can fester such animosity within his heart is a question for the ages.
Start a big casino losers thread. Balanced reporting. Something which you won't find on any gambling related site.
The people who want to argue will still want to do it in front of the active threads, but maybe this new thread will gain some interest.
P.S. This is not a comment on the above two posters.
How enlightening. But you have to be sober and know how to use it properly. I usually carry an Alaskan Ruger .44 with a 2-1/2 inch barrel, and it's got the same black talons I put in it 5 years ago.
I got the feeling a pocket knife would be enough to make you pee your pants though....:)
More obvious projection.
Da plane, da plane.
Yeah, they sure have their hooks into me as I went around 18 months without betting one penny of my wealth. Poor Robbie can't go a week without donating to the nickel machines he can afford to play after his welfare check arrives.
[QUOTEYeah, they sure have their hooks into me as I went around 18 months without betting one penny of my wealth. Poor Robbie can't go a week without donating to the nickel machines he can afford to play after his welfare check arrives.[/QUOTE]
Let's see. Rob's system is to play until you lose 2000 credits, then move up in denom and play until you lose 2000 credits, then move up in denom and play until you lose 2000 credits, etc. Can anyone here see how time consuming that is? Singer is a gambling addict who spends all his waking hours on the machines. Then he goes on the forums and calls everyone else a gambling addict. Typical drivel from a gambling addict and malignant narcisisist.
That's wonderful....except for the fact that I'm not interested in finding you. And the only reason I'm going to Montana in a few days is to pass thru it to get to somewhere that the people are more educated, intelligent, sober, they have all their teeth, they're not old men still mooching off of mommy, men are attractive to women, the hicks and their junk cars & trucks are nowhere to be seen, and people pay their taxes.
I am very proud to own this forum with quality information. It's like a crystal flute filled with the finest champagne.
Oy vay.
Montana has no state sales tax though. I have to say I enjoyed that when I visited last year.
Oregon also has no state sales tax, and we've spent quite a bit since being here. Montana's zero tax doesn't really matter for mickey. He can't even buy toothpaste.
mc, at the Wizard's,

No way in hell I would pay even $37.50 for a bottle of wine. Just give me a jug of ripple or 20/20 and I'm a happy camper. And what the hell is a sommelier?
This is what $5-600 a day nets him?
No, withstanding the variances is not enough.
A billionaire would be comfortable betting the Martingale double up upon a loss when starting at $5, but that would be a waste of the billion, not to mention a lot of time around the wannabe's.
The problem is that the longer you play, the much longer the bad runs you'll encounter. Once a bad run starts, it takes exponentially longer to get out of it.
If you've ever run a computer simulation, you'll see that this is unavoidable. When things even out by variance, okay, but, it's when it doesn't even out (for you) that you go bust.
This is the paradox of risk of ruin or ROR.
You can't get rid of the risk if you want to double your money.
A lot easier to lose all than to double up against much larger opponents. Even with a considerable edge.
Even with optimal betting by the Kelly Criterion, a casino gambler can't play enough small bets fast enough to avoid this.
Even with 1/2 Kelly, and other modifications over the stock markets, you have to have the stomach for the cliffs. (Over simplification.)
A very interesting point and I agree with it.
Here's an example: I was playing $5 Aces and Faces video poker and I was down about $2,000. Even if I hit a long shot like quad aces which pays $2,000 I would only break even.
This is why I decided to set "loss limits" because once you reach a loss limit it becomes unrealistic to think you could claw your way out of the hole unless you hit something very big such as a royal or multiple quads in rapid order.
Before you start saying that what I am saying violates "the math" let me point out that only in very, very few sessions over years of play have I come back from a very big deficit -- and that was only by hitting a royal. And while this might violate "the math" I can honestly say that if I don't start hitting winners from early in the session the chances are it will be a losing session.
On the other hand, I must mention that about three years ago I hit a $36,000 royal progressive after being in the hole about $15,000. But I wouldn't want to go through that again.
There are better paying jobs, if you want to become a true gambling expert. Granted, you have to put in the hours, but that's a good thing if you like what you're doing. But, there's not enough emphasis placed on education in Western society as opposed to the prosecution mentality of misfits. People who gamble begin to perceive themselves as elitists who have circumvented the system. But then you have to ask yourself, how did they wind up in dimly lit casinos? Imagine what an engineer who could build a device to predict roulette would be worth in military circles, eg.
My approach to gambling is a paradigm shift away from the expected values, etc, to making of it what I can as a diversion from the real tensions of life. A $50 win, or even a $5 win, has meaning to me in that I didn't "have to lose" say $20,000 to try to prove out something in a gambling book. How often do poker players say, well, I had to pay you off? Anyway, I don't see much use in trying to duplicate such results. You live only once, so may as well try for something more.
Funny, isn't it :) It makes you wonder what stains the few teeth he has left that aren't already rotten: the beer, the nasty cigarettes which all poor people are addicted to, or the Ripple!
And they say most of the country's pure white trash lives in the south?
Sad to say again....you don't pay attention. We don't "win bread" any more. Ever hear of pensions, SS checks, & 401k's? Oh that's right, you'll never see any of that because you suck off the government handouts. "Got it made" to life's leftovers like you and the other low-life slugs in Montana means Medicaid, living assistance, and food stamps. Just enuf for beer and getting by at the lowest of levels.
That quite the existence you have there, mickey.:)
Mickey neglected to warn me about the large 10-point buck deer that seem to enjoy getting slammed into head-on at 80mph across Montana. This is the result of just that. The new car we bought to tow behind the RV is now a wreck. The effect? Well, we got a rental to finish the trip to Minn., and once this snowstorm stops we'rd off to buy another new car. Before insurance nonsense begins. Thank you, video poker.
