What, no blood?
Come to think of it, where is the blood and fur? I know -- he ran it through a car wash so it would appraise better!!
(Years ago I hit a dog, a large one, and while my car did not crumple like that -- as if it hit a concrete wall -- there were parts of fur and flesh stuck on the metal.)
Back to jackpots: three photos from one day including two straight flushes, and one quad aces. At Caesars playing 8/5 Bonus which required $25 coin in for one tier point. Don't be too impressed with the total showing on the meter in the photo with the straight flush in hearts -- that's not all profit. In fact, the profit on the trip was only $470. The meter started with $2,000 on it (marker ticket in) so there was a profit of about $3,000. Not shown: dealt quad 3s for $1,000. And also not shown: quad 9s dealt back-to-back. (Please see Rob's thread about quad 9s.)
The nonsense to me is the red tape. I'm into simplicity these days, and insurance companies are not your friends. The car is paid for and I don't need the big check or the argument that goes with getting it, from the people who love to give you a hard time over a claim.
Ever drive thru Montana and N. Dakota in the middle of the night? Posted speed is 75. I usually never go faster except when headed somewhere that takes a long, long time.
Plenty of guts and hair in and around the car. I was surprised the air bag didn't deploy. Something about no rapid deceleration. I drove right thru the deer.
Rob was the accident at night? From the photo it appears it was taken at the point of impact with debris on the road.
I hit back to back straight flushes this past weekend which is quite unusual (one in 250,000). I've also been on a roll for natural straight flushes. They are usually only 10% of the total SFs playing OEJs but I've hit 15 of them in the past 3 weeks (out of 67 total SFs). Naturally, I still can't get a natural ace high SF even though I've have far more chances. Only had one chance at 4RF this weekend (well two if you want the count the dealt K high SF), but plenty of "scares". Total profit for the 3 weeks has been about $3000.
Well, yeah, I totally spaced out the wild animal factor, especially at night. It is definitely a hazard in Montana. I think about 2000 animals a year get hit. I even hit one myself but go off lucky. It was a small deer and just bended the fender. In Montana you are allowed to pack up the meat and take it home. But in your case, Rob, that looks like some pretty expensive deer steak.
Back in the late 1960s when I was taking Drivers Ed in high school, they told us about how the rules changed for insurance and accidents involving deer. Back in the early 1960s you were covered ONLY if the deer jumped ON your car. But so many drivers reported that the deer jumped ON their cars that the insurance industry changed the rules to cover the damage when you hit the deer.
I was visiting a girl in Texas some years ago, and we had a long drive. She got too tired and couldn't continue, so she had me drive the car instead (it was her car). She warned me, "DO NOT SPEED because there are tons of cows around here that walk into the road, and slamming into one is like slamming into a parked vehicle."
That scared me enough to where I uncharacteristically drove the speed limit on the highway, and was constantly looking around for cows.
Not a relaxing drive, to say the least.
Rob, I didn't understand your post. Are you saying you had no insurance?
I think Rob was saying that because he has so much money from his video poker winnings that he doesn't have to wait for a check from the insurance company to either fix his car or buy a new one.
On the other hand, some people do drop the "collision" part of their insurance to save money and it is sometimes wise to drop the "collision" coverage on older cars when the cost of the premiums outweighs the benefits of the coverage and the actual value of the car.
I remember back in the old days you would drop the collision on cars older than 5 years.
I still carry collision on my 2003 Mercedes because it has some financial benefits over and above the cost of repairs and replacement should the car be totaled. But dropping collision might appear to be worthwhile since the value of my car is only about $4,000 now because it has more than 222,000 miles.
No I have coverage and my comprehensive deductible is only $100. And just as I suspected, the insurance company is already using stall tactics on the equity payout that we agreed to. Something about whether the title, which we have back in our RV in Oregon, has our names on it with or without our middle initials. They claim the check has to be made out to the names exactly as identified on the title for some reason. Totally stupid. So I told them to figure out some other way because we're not going back to Oregon until Feb. Totally stupid.
I bought a new car yesterday and yes, it was 100% from my vp wins that I've posted about here. It won't arrive until late Dec. because while what I wanted was located in Iowa (2015 Hyundai Genesis) I had it shipped to Texas first so that Hennessey could install a blower along with a few other tricks that'll up the hp from 348 to 480. They'll then ship it to me when I get back to Oregon. We'll rent a car to get back in Feb. Might as well have a little fun after having had to go thru this.
An unusual occurrence for me--both on the same machine.
Nice hits regnis! That first royal was darn near sequential!
Almost identical regnis, and I have to suspect some sort of trickery here because the pictures show up sideways:)
I was on the Interstate that goes thru Missoula then Bozeman. I think it was 94. Not too far after seeing a few Testicle Festival billboards for every August in the coming years.
Saturday night Gwen and I came out of The Ice House in Pasadena and says to me "let's go to Vegas." I called the host office and we got a $650 free play offer and drove up. Gwen used the free play on 8/5 Bonus and cashed out $790. I used $3000 of markers: lost $1000 at craps but hit quad aces twice at $5 7/5 Bonus and had a $1000 net profit on the trip. We returned home Sunday night.
Edited to add the photos also to correct that I was playing the 8/5 "full pay" games but these were $25 coin in for 1 tier point -- under the "small dome."
You were still on I-90 at that point. The testicle festival is in Clinton, about 20 miles east of Missoula, so you were probably somewhere betweem Clinton and Drummond when you hit the deer. I-94 breaks off from I-90 just east of Billings. I assume you took 94 if you were headed to Minnesota.
these two pics are from my most recent trip to Vegas. the 10k hit was my biggest so far, and I normally don't play slots unless I have had too much to drink and want a quick flurry to see if I hit it big.
Awesome wins. Congratulations on the 10 grand win. Way to go!!!!
When it rains it pours. After hitting another royal on an ultimate x (at 2x) and aces with a kicker on $2.00 DDB, I sat down and hit this Progressive.
But Alan and the few craps players here will appreciate the next part. If you have read the craps threads here, you will note that I roll 8's and 10's. So since I seemed to be on a roll, I then went to craps. "put" the 10 for $25 (table minimum) with $200 odds, bet the hard 10 for $100, and bet the 8 for $300. Rolled everything but for 10 minutes. Then hit the hard 10--pressed that to $200 and the 10 to $500. Rolled a bunch of 8's pressing every other (double up every other), then hit another hard 10. Press the hard 10 to $300--the 10 to $1000. Hit several more eights then a soft 10. Then 7 out. Hand was maybe 15-20 minutes--took $7600 and called it a night.
I love to hear about big craps wins because they are so rare. Good going regnis.

My royal drought has ended. Hit one a week ago Sunday and then another one yesterday. Both were one card draws. The first one ended my miss streak at 250. I then hit the next one on the 6th chance. Both were on dollar OEJs for $4K each. Otherwise I played about even for both trips.
It's always good to see a royal flush drought end, Arc.
Arci--just to make those royals official, I must point out that the fogginess of the pictures is proof that you took those from a distance and they therefore belonged to someone else. Did you really think you could get away with that here.
Hit my first royal of 2015 last night at Firekeepers, Battle Creek, Mich. Played a Triple Play quarter progressive (8/5 DDB) with the top prize for hitting all 3 just over $11,400.
Held Jc,Kc, Qc and hit on the middle line for $1,132.32 .
Coincidentally, I hit a royal at MGM Detroit 3 years ago on the same date.
Just saw your comment. Although I assume you're just being sarcastic, you appeared to have missed that a couple of the royals were on slant tops. For them to have been taken far away with some kind of magnification, I would have had to hang from the ceiling.
The bad images were the result of scratches on my cell phone. Since then I've tried to polish up the lens protector and the images are a little better but still not all that good. I probably won't need image enhancement next time, but the images are still not going to look great until I break down and replace my old phone.
was just being sarcastic in the theme of the threads at that time. We all know it's not you that you want to see hanging from the ceiling.
Great way to start the new year Vic. Congrats on the great hits!!! Just hoping your royals don't dry up for the rest of 2015 :)
Thanks, but I don't play as much as I have in years past. Only one royal in '13 and in '14. This year started out with some early gaming as we were traveling back to Michigan from a New Year's stay at our son's in Illinois and the weather prompted us to stop at Firekeepers for the night...bingo, royal #1. Then this past Friday, I hadn't intended to go to Greektown, but my wise and faithful bichon, Mitzie, suggested I go there rather than stay home...cha ching, royal #2.
And there you have it.
Hit my first royal of 2015 Sat. night. Also, I believe it was the time I ever made one with "just" a one card draw.

The royals just keep coming. I've now had 6 in the last month and a half.
Unfortunately it appears you are behind. With 625k hands shouldn't you have 15 royals?
I think I'm behind the expected average as well.
On the way out the door at Cache Creek Casino (near San Francisco) two days ago, I nailed quad aces with kicker for $2000 at Double Double Bonus video poker.

Today at Rincon
Wow chimp thats great. ^5
You can't fool me!!! That lovely lady clearly superimposed her own likeness over Rob Singer who actually won that jackpot and took that picture. You have to get up pretty early to fool me.
Thanks Count and Nash. I spewed a few choice words and then tried to keep breathing. Lol.
Regnis.....lol! You can fool some of the people all of the time.......
And you sent the photo to your ex husband??
By the way, I was at Rincon one night when a lady hit the 10X Pay machine for one of the biggest prizes -- something in the range of $90-thou or so. Curiously, after the hit was paid, a tech and a supervisor came over to the machine and SWITCHED OUT the chip in the machine. Wondered what that was all about?
Great Chimp!!!
Hey just saw this. Awesome hit Chimp!!
Congrats!!! Marvelous hit!
Thanks guys!
Chimp: Can you tell us the denomination of that slot machine? I'm guessing it takes 3 coins of $5 each ($15 per pull)...?
Again, that's a wonderful hit, though. Savor the moment for sure!
Yes Count. $15 per spin. It can eat you alive if you're not careful.
Hi Chimp what a great hit! I was wondering if you're playing at Rincon on the last Saturday of this month? I get a feeling the casino will be really packed. I'm also wondering if you see more hand pays in the high limits room as compared to the other areas in the casino.
It only makes sense that there are more handpays in the high limit room because of the higher denominations. When they had $100 video poker a slot attendant stood at the machines since a 3oak was a W2G.
Hi Quad. I usually avoid the last Saturday drawing days because I never get called. But the few times I have gone I haven't thought that it has been overly crowded. And its been pretty empty all the times I've been there this month. Someone else here might have a better insight on the drawings days than I do.
And, as Alan said, high limits does get more jackpots by default.
I have been called for the $1000 free plays several times and usually in the first two drawings. If there's a "trick" it's to get there early when the number of entrants is small.
I predict that if Chimp shows up on Saturday she will win the $50000. She's on a roll.
Haha! That would be sweet.
I think I might take the advice of Alan. Get there early when the entrants numbers are small. Makes perfect sense. After all Alan knows best! Kind of like Father knows best!
Wait........I think that was a TV show. Alan are you a movie star as well?
Well I've done a couple of movies but just small parts. :-)
Speaking of Saturday.
This Saturday is in fact the last Saturday of the month and there are a few other things going on at Rincon in addition to the drawings.
At 11 AM there are auditions for Wheel Of Fortune. I do not have any information on this. Probably best to call the casino for details.
At 8 PM there is "Dueling Pianos Experience" in the event center.
By invitation only you and a guest will enjoy appetizers and a show featuring hits from the 50's to modern day by dueling pianos. Plus pick your tune for a chance to win a share of $10,000 in free play. Every song you request will earn an entry into the night's free play drawing.
Well, this big win isn't so big when you look at some of the giant wins that some of our Forum members have hit lately. This is my first royal of 2015, and it came at 25-cent video poker, single line. I was at Rincon and I had only $120 of free play, so I was only playing 25-cent video poker. Machine #3116 was occupied so I sat down at the multi game machine just to the right of it, on the aisle, and played 8/5 Bonus. Holding just two cards it filled in the royal. This machine did lock up for a hand pay.
I hit a $5 royal on this same machine about three years ago. About a month ago I saw a man hit a $5 royal on it, and about three months ago a young girl playing only one quarter hit a royal on it. That's three royals.
By the way, after I got the hand pay, I changed denominations on the machine and found that the royal also showed at 50-cents, one-dollar and five-dollars. There is no $2 game on this machine.
For those of you who might be curious, the machine seemed to be "hot" right before the royal giving me flushes and straights and full houses, and several times dealing me trip-aces but they did not improve to quads.
Alan, so they didn't change the pay tables on Bonus Poker nor Aces and Faces YET?
Good to hear. By the way, if you hit this Royal at Rincon why didn't you post this under
CALIFORNIA CASINOS?
Why did it go to hand pay mode if it was only $1000?
Hi Alan:
Congratulations. Don't apologize about playing quarters as any royal is a good royal (as long as you had max coin). I remember I was playing triple bonus something at Green Valley Ranch and got something like a $1000 win years ago (definitely less than $1,200). But the machine locked up and it needed to be a hand pay even though it was a TITO machine. Never figured out why other than it was a way to get tips for slot staff.
FAB
Most of the $1 and lower video poker machines at Rincon are set for handpays at $1000. But I think they are starting to change that.
A few weeks ago I hit quad aces at 25-cents on Royal Aces Bonus which pays $1,000 (like a royal) but the credits added to the machine and I was able to cash them out with a ticket. (This was not on 3116. On 3116 when I got AAAA playing Royal Aces the machine locked up for $1,000.)
I think they want to do away with the small handpays as it's a strain on the slot crew. I think in the past they wanted the handpays to generate tips for the slot crew. But now there are fewer slot attendants, and plenty of handpays at higher denominations that lock the machines.
Congrats Alan! I saw you walking past high limits. It was a madhouse today.
Looks like Alan is not having as good of a year this year. It's so nice when you're hitting nice jackpots on a regular basis. When they disappear the game is not as much fun. If you keep planing, eventually all bad streaks (and good streaks) will end.
Even though I haven't used a mobile device to take jackpot pictures for this thread, I have to grudgingly admit that arci brings up a good point.
I had a GREAT 2012-2013 sprinkled with all sorts of royals. From roughly May 2014 to the present date, my luck has been awful with no end in sight. No royals in almost a year. Lots of bad sessions with no (or very few) quads, too.
Long hot and cold streaks can really play tricks with your mind! Feeling invincible when hot, and feeling that the misery will never end when cold.
A couple years ago I had a royal flush drought that lasted a full year despite play of about once a week. Sh!@ happens.
Alan: Yeah, I remember that well. You said you went almost 200K hands without a royal. I had a scary streak back in 2007 of about 500,000 hands without one (played a lot more back then). One saving grace back in 2007 was that I still had a lot of sessions with a healthy share of quads. Not this time around (with a couple of notable exceptions).
