BUMP
Well, now we know why he still bothers.
He uses his show to pick out young women and teen girls from the audience, and then tries to bang them.
Unfortunately, the main source of this "investigation" is far-left UK site "The Guardian", and their report is overly long and riddled with non-issues (and questionable claims):

With that said, there's a lot of smoke here, and likely some fire. It seems that Copperfield was more careful than your standard sexual predator, and tried to stay within the confines of the law:
- He would send his assistants, usually females, to grab attractive teen girls and young women from the audience
- Sometimes these females would join him on stage where he would sometimes grope them, but any groping would be subtle and not viewable by the audience. Sometimes there would be no groping at all, and this would be a precursor to meeting with them later, after the show.
- Sometimes these females would not be brought up on stage, but instead be told that they had an opportunity to meet Copperfield.
- Copperfield would get their personal information and keep in contact with them. If under 18, he would usually wait until they turned 18 before pushing their relationship to be sexual. However, he would sometimes send notes to 16-year-olds saying things like "2 more years", and in some cases he would do sexual things with girls who were under 18, as long as the age of consent still made it legal.
- In 2007, a Vegas showgirl claimed that Copperfield pulled some Cosby-esque move, drugging and raping her. However, the woman died of an unknown disease about 5 years ago, and some say that she either called or discussed calling Copperfield before passing away, believing she had wronged him.
- Most of the allegations against him involve him grooming underage girls and then having sex with them once they turned 18. This isn't illegal, but it's immoral, and likely to get his show shut down soon.
Copperfield's lawyers are very carefully commenting on the situation, basically admitting that he had sex with these teen girls, but that it was consensual and they were all of legal age (which is probably true).
I think he's done.
