North of that intersection is just nonsense....all the way to downtown. Circus Circus (should be torn down), Strat, Sahara are just minor league. I know they thought with some new big resorts like F-Bleu, Resorts World, they could turn that run down area into something more resembling the lower strip. Here is the problem. Foot Traffic. From the intersection mentioned about, south all the way to tropicana, people can and do walk. There is something every few feet, and a different casino every half block. The area north of Wynn/Venetian, you can't really walk. Well, you can but no one does. Long stretches of nothing.
With the benefit of hindsight, Resorts World and F Bleu were just a really bad idea in a bad location.
It's also the fact that Las Vegas is the literal Desert. People are hot, sweaty, tired, and parched in Las Vegas walking around the Strip due to Las Vegas being a hot desert. Maybe Fountaine Bleu and Resorts World would have faired better in a City where the weather was around a comfy 70 degrees most of the time like say San Diego in California?
It is a pleasant 81 degrees here today. Pretty damn nice for end of June. Of course that is 20 degrees cooler than the norm.
I think the problem dates back 20 years, when someone came up with the bright idea to change what Las Vegas has always been. Vegas is a gambling City. I guess they were afraid that with all the new casinos everywhere, people wouldn't come to Vegas just to gamble. Guess what, for most people that have a casino or two within an hours drive, that does NOT replace what Las Vegas is/WAS. If people want to go shopping, they don't have to come to Vegas to do so. If the younger crowd wants to go clubbing, they can do so in every major city. They ruined what Vegas was and should be.
Just out of curiosity Tasha, have you ever been to Vegas? I though I read that you haven't been more than 50 miles from home.
