Why would any casino care about a slot pro unless they were cheating, as in tampering with the machines?
Bill,
C'mon, man. Don't go misquoting your own quote. LOL.
He said, "although it is generally a low income living." The inclusion of the word "generally" obviously implies that he is aware of exceptions.
Besides, I don't understand your point -- the VP is explaining that it can be done, which goes against your entire bloviating. Mickey never said he was driving a million dollar RV.
But really, you misquoted your own quote. Man, I don't know what to say. I guess next time you put something in quotes, make sure it matches what you originally put in quotes. LOL.
This is another tough question that the ap clowns here including mickey need a lot more time to spin an answer out of their fuzzy heads.
No casino cares one bit about people who look for "must hit by" machines in their final trimester. They don't care who hits them because they get the profitable amount of play regardless.
I was talking to the Peppermill chain slots director about this earlier in the week. There's 3 of these type machines at Western Village that "must hit by" $10,000. They reset at $7500. Casino mgmt. knows at least 6 players who come in and scout and/or play them as soon as the machines get to $9700, which they always do. From that point on the seats are packed 24/7 with people waiting in line for hours. Obviously someone eventually hits them, and casino management couldn't care less who it is. The last five have been hit by truckers or their wives staying at the motel while their big rigs were parked at Sierra Sid's.
So no, casinos don't care, and anyone who says otherwise or makes up stories about "slot ap's getting banned" are doing nothing but blowing smoke....as usual.
This comment by Rob makes sense:
They don't care who hits them because they get the profitable amount of play regardless.
Mickeycrimm I was being sarcastic in my response to jbjb.
I don't think the casinos care one bit if an AP wins these games or not. As Rob pointed out, the casinos already made their money.
Frankly this whole thing sounds incredible.
Now I just don't care anymore. Keep gossiping and making your AP banner waving claims. It's par for the course.
Just because the casino has already made their money doesn't mean they can't make more. The casino would rather there be an extra $100 in a degenerate's pocket than an AP's, because the degenerate is more likely to keep playing the -EV game while the AP isn't going to play the -EV game.
I have a friend who was 86'd from the Santa Ana Star because he dominated the 10K musts hits. Your supposition that the seats on 10K's are taken 24/7 once the number reaches $9700 is based in ignorance. It doesn't take days to spin one off from that number. At $25 a spin average 4000 spins. At $5 a spin average 20,000 spins. Many, but not all, 10K's are in the 93% to 94% pay range. At 9700 its about a 3% edge. At 9800 it's about a 10% edge. That's based on a $6.67 meter.
Mickey, don't waste your time confusing these fools with the facts. Rob is just blowing smoke out of his ass as usual. No doubt he talked to NOBODY about slots AP'ing. Let him and the rest of his crew be the jealous, degenerate losers that they are. None us are are impressed with his $30 thrift store pile of outdated junk he's got at that computer desk.
Mickeycrimm wrote "I have a friend who was 86'd from the Santa Ana Star because he dominated the 10K musts hits."
Really? What else did he do?
I really find it absurd that a casino would do that. Are you going to say it really happened because other players complained they couldn't get a seat?
It sounds just absurd. Sorry.
No I think you self proclaimed APs are just getting carried away with yourselves and your self importance.
But carry on. It's entertaining.
Whatever floats your boat. But yours has many holes in it....
The problem you're running into is that they are not throwing AP's out just for vulturing per se, but throwing everyone who vultures out also succeeds in them getting out most of the people who they are actually worried about. They're probably worried about the two general types of, "Creators," more than anything.
I should also hope that much of this is confined to high-limit areas, but I guess you never know. It's especially hard to say with MLIFE, from what I've heard. I would definitely understand it in HL rooms on the Vegas Strip why you wouldn't want those players fucked with if you're the casino. Even some local casinos I am familiar with have a sign in the high-limit room that it is for, "Active players," I'll take a picture of such a sign if you like. For that, I just have a ticket in my hand when I go in for a couple hundred, stick it in the first machine I want to check and then play a hand or two as small as possible if it looks like anyone is paying attention to me. It usually doesn't come to that and I'm about 99% sure they don't care about me, anyway, but no harm in taking precautions.
This is a very weird session-fixated question. It reveals Mr. Mendelson's inability to face the long term, and its results. Take a moment to examine the odd question, "Since when do APs quit when ahead?"
If you cannot figure out what is odd, that tells you something about yourself. Although I'm not sure that I qualify as an "AP," I play 40-80 hours of video poker a year. I am ahead lifetime a modest amount (I play mostly quarters), roughly 5K right now. For the last three or four years, the amount I have been ahead has varied between high 3K and low 5K.
So for years, I have always "quit when ahead." I've been ahead at video poker for more than decade, so every single time I have ended a session, I am ahead lifetime. That is what the word "ahead" means.
If you think that perspective is strange, I ask why. That perspective is actual reality without the blinders of preferring to treat the most recent activity as somehow sealed off from the rest.
Language counts. It affects how people perceive the world and relate to it. Definitions matter. Argentino brags on an 85% session win rate. When you think about it, I have a decade long streak of "quitting when ahead" every single time. I have gone more than a decade without being behind. I have been ahead the entire time, 100%.
So what helps one perceive reality? Keeping a tally of how many sessions one finishes with a "profit for the session," or keeping a tally of being ahead, period?
If you've managed to live to a ripe old age as an AP, you are, in normal language, always quitting when ahead. It's the people who are motivated to prefer long-term result amnesia who render some kind of priority to using the phrase "quitting when ahead" to sessions instead of reality.
The Peppermill Corp. issues WRITTEN statements when they ban anyone from playing a certain game or games for any reason. Most reputable casinos would do this also. It's called "protection". All you pathetic people do is throw out a bunch of feel-good assertions about "other players" and "I heard this....I heard that so it must be true since I want it to be because I'm an AP" or "there's no doubt about it because six anonymous people are claiming it RIGHT NOW on another forum!"
Do you idiots even NOTICE the absurdity of your continuous flow of BS every time you try to bolster the unproven claims of others who say they're like what you claim to be? If that digs away at you, how about somebody from somewhere produce one of these bannings in writing on casino letterhead, like most or all casinos--esp MGM--would require be given out!
But you can't, can you. Anonymous fools simply want anonymous claims to go on and on.
This is stupid and obviously comes from someone completely devoid of rational business decision-making sense.
Let me spell it out to you yet again: THE SLOT MACHINE BRINGS IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF PROFIT WHETHER A GRANNY OR A TRUCKER OR A "FEARED AP" WINS THE JACKPOT. THAT'S THE ONLY GOAL WITH THE MUST-HIT-BY JACKPOTS.
By nature, ap's are sick gamblers who casinos know will respond readily to anything that appears lucrative. No one knows if granny will stick around. Truckers usually can't. But there is a whopping good chance that ap's will be back with that jackpot cash, chasing some other promotion that they were specifically reeled in for. And whether or not it's simply to contribute to the next must-hit-by jackpot, their continued action is guaranteed at a far higher clip than granny's.
Wise up....and stop making things up.
In 2002 I played $1 Full Pay Deuces Wild at the Peppermill for three days. When at the booth to get comps the boothling told me I was assigned a casino host and they would want to meet me. The next time I went to get a comp a boothling told me I had an appointment that afternoon with the casino host. I blew the meeting off. My buddy Al had been on the play longer than me and had met the casino host. Al called me and told me about the play and that's how I got there.
On the third day this casino host comes up to the bank and says
"Al, I'm disqualifying you from all drawings and special events."
"What the hell for?" said Al.
"C'mon, Al. You know you are a pro. But I'm leaving your comp alone for now. Now I have to find this Crimm guy and tell him too." said the casino host.
"I know him. I'll tell him for you." said Al.
The casino host walked off not knowing I was sitting there listening to what he said. The deuce play wasn't worth that much, about $30 an hour. It was the drawings that made the play lucrative. So we drug up on the play.
It was about 2007 that Pepp and Atlantis started trading information and pulled the cards of a lot of AP's. That's the way the Pepp did it. They didn't 86 you. They pulled your card benefits.
Edit: Part of the Pepp casino host's job was to profile players and weed out the pros.
Mickeycrimm in all your years have you ever been strongarmed? Is there ANY member of this forum who has ever been strongarmed?
I'm not sure I'm an "AP," but let's assume for a moment that I count. When making sports bets, I have used a card some places, and purposefully not used it, even when asked, at others. One must provide formal ID when asked, but that formal ID does not necessarily have a social security number. Some states allow no social or it's optional. I never have my social on formal ID. Casinos cannot force you to provide a social.
This is Barney,
I occasionally see the casino security personages take away slut machine campers because it is costing them the monies. Smartest casino security personages know when the must hit slut machine devices gets close and they call their relatives and split the winnings with them. The slut machine camper personages is taking the bread off the casino personage tables and it pisses them off to no end so they take action to give the ploppies and EV hunters the shits. It is like an expected performance bonus to their regular low wages.
RS wrote "Legally, you don’t have to show ID." I don't know if that's true, but I do know that if you don't have ID the casino can make you leave their property.
A drivers license does not have a Social Security number. I don't know of any ID that has your SS# except your SS card. Is there another ID with that number on it? Why is it there?
Ok you machine AP guys...welcome to my (and by "my" I mean card counters collectively) world. Backoffs, 86ings, figuring out what is and isn't tolerated and the ensuing cat and mouse game.
I think the discussion goes something like this: Young whippersnapper accountant reporting to casino management. "We had a banner year last year. 10 billion in profit. Our best year ever. But there is something troubling me. There appears to be a small number of players that are winning". Casino management: "Oh no! we must put a stop to this! How are they cheating?" "well sir, they are not really cheating. They are playing by the rules. They are just using their brain and winning. They collectively won hundreds of thousands of dollars". (that would be .001 of 1%)
So management does their things. Changing rules (blackjack) or paytables (video poker)...whatever they have to do to make sure there are no winners. And the stupid ones like this story, will try intimidation...illegal intimidation. And they will pay, hundreds of thousands of dollars in lawsuit judgements and far more in bad publicity. Bob Nersesian is already on this case. There is no question of anything. The outcome will be the casino loses...and the key piece of evidence that does them in is their own video footage. :D We have seen it all before. Anyone remember the definition of insanity?
Meanwhile the likes of Benny Binion and the "real" casino Guys are rolling over in their graves. They understood that a few players winning is a good thing. Players need to know that the games can be beaten. That is what keeps them coming back. For every player that walks out the door with a little bit of winnings, whether AP or just lucky winning player, that money comes back 10 fold. But these new whippersnapper casino management guys starting I guess about the turn of the century (maybe 1990's) just have no clue. They are hell bent on making sure no one wins. And in the end..."the longrun"....that will include the casinos themselves.
It is really the one of the same arguments that we have been dealing with here on this site for some time. Like Alan, Singer, and that crowd, this new brand of "casino management" either doesn't understand or has lost site of the long run. Just like the Alan/Singer crowd, they are focused on the short term. The real casino guys understood about the longterm, same as the AP's on this forum. Yep Benny is rolling over just shaking his head. :(
It's not just horses. But a bet that pays 300 to 1 or better requires a W2G which includes having a social security number. I have to check the $ threshold amount but a $5 Fire Bet at craps hitting all 6 requires a W2G.
While I don't bet sports I'm guessing there must be some bets that pay 300 to 1 or better outside of horses????
LOL. They have to win.
And who in his right mind would play a 300-1 future with a tax burden when you could bet it offshore?
Oh wait, that's right. Parlay cards. You'd get W2Gs for parlay cards. Of course, who in his right mind would play parlay cards with 300-1 odds, risking a tax burden? Wouldn't you just break up the lineup and play separate cards to get under the 300-1? Probably not if you're playing parlays to begin with, eh?
I don't know much about video poker, and nothing about craps. It is truly frightening when you two start asking questions regarding something I actually know a bit about. You come across as doofuses.
Mr. Mendelson coming to Rob's defense. Boy, you two need some remedial gambling work. Or maybe just remedial work in general.
I hear Opportunity Village is hiring. It's Billy Walters' favorite charity.
And who in his right mind would play a 300-1 future with a tax burden when you could bet it offshore?
I didn't know that overseas gambling winnings were not taxable. Thanks redietz for pointing that out.
Mickeycrimm I'm sure the casino gave Rob the appropriate tax forms. Why wouldn't the casino do that?
A more interesting question surrounds what redietz posted about using off shore books to avoid US taxes.
Coach, redietz could easily have a 5k profit at VP playing only quarters and never having a W2G. His 5k was over years of play so small profits could add up. I think the W2G is a non issue here.
The same thing goes for Rob. If he had a $1500 or $2500 win goal each trip he could achieve that on $5 Bonus ($25 per play) without a W2G.
I recall that he wrote some time ago about how he got that far into the plus column.
All gambling winnings are potentially taxable, but when Singer talks about "hitting a taxable" it's clear what he's talking about...and he was obviously not talking about betting horses.
It turns out I have a friend, a Cali AP, who is friends with the victim at Excalibur. The victim told him that he was thrown to the floor and placed in a choke hold after he was handcuffed and they kept slamming his head into the floor because he wouldn't answer questions. Mlife has formed Emergency Response Teams in the wake of the Las Vegas Shooting. It was an ERT than confronted the victim. They are still advertising for team members if anyone is interested.
They are obviously poorly trained at this point. But enough lawsuits might straighten them up.
Whoa, an "emergency response team" was called in to deal with a slot AP?
What was the "emergency?"
Seems to me like hiring a bunch of ex-Metro / Swat guys, giving them minimal training as to casino issues and then using them to pummel and beat slot patrons is a bit extreme, but hey, what happens in Vegas gets settled out of court, eh?
see ERT article: https://news3lv.com/news/local/mgm-r...post-1-october
Just more work for Nersesian.
They slammed an AP's head to the floor? An AP who was at a slot machine?.
So now this is about an ERT going too far because they were told to remove someone and had no idea it was an AP? So it could have been a "ploppie" who didn't want to give up a machine to grandma? In other words ANY customer could have been manhandled and it wasn't directed as an attack on an AP?
So instead of labeling as an attack on an AP it could have been labeled as a strong arm removal of a person with red hair, or blue eyes, or a male, or a low level players club member, or someone wearing a green sweater?
Bottom line: an ERT did the wrong thing and APS are not being strongarmed just because they're APs?
Alan, I know of a case years ago where a slot hustler was 86'd from Harrah's Tahoe. He wasn't trespassed just told he wasn't welcome on the property anymore. So he goes down the street to Bill's Casino where he was quickly detained and spent the night in jail. Bill's was owned by Harrah's. The guy said he wasn't aware of that and that Harrah's did not tell him he was 86'd from any other properties. However, the prosecutor took it easy on him offering a fine of just $150 so he took the deal. In hindsight the prosecutor probably offered such a low fine because he knew he had a weak case.
I think what we have with Mlife is the guy was trespassed from Luxor then went to Excalibur, another Mlife property. Excalibur surveillance picked him up and sent in the goons. At this point I think the proper name for the ERT's is "Goon Squads."
The funny thing is you don't see this story in the local media.
There are several reasons why this story may not be in local media. Some of them include:
1. It didn't happen
2. People get removed from casinos every day
3. No one was injured
4. No one cares
5. Hearsay and can't be verified
6. All of the above
Here's a story you didn't see in the media: our craps table players and dealers watched as Red Rock security took a blackjack player out of the casino after urinating in his seat. His excuse was it was a hot shoe and he didn't want to lose out on the money.
I'm really curious to see what response you get from the local news stations. My prediction is "no response" because they won't care until an actual lawsuit is filed.
Please let us know IF an actual lawsuit is filed.
Mickeycrimm did you send the name and contact info of the victim or of the victim's attorney to the media? Or what exactly did you tell the news stations?
The woman in this story is reported to be the girlfriend of the guy that got beat up at Excalibur. And it is no doubt he was the other person using her card.
http://www.autonews.com/article/2018...wsuit-giveaway
Dude that go beat up at Excalibur is reported to have won many cars in his gambling career so he obviously knows something about car drawings. Viejas in known for putting up expensive cars and making a big promotion but then they take the winner in the back and pressure them to take a small cash payment instead. They've been pulling that shit since the nineties.
I've removed a lot of garbage from this thread and dropped it in the Singer containment thread: https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...ll=1#post77258
Bill Yung and Rob Singer have also been banned from this thread.
Interesting. Up until now, I assumed the woman in that story was just a local who gave her card to a friend to help increase her chances to win.
Anyway, I think your theory about the ERT team doing the attacking is plausible.
Vegas casinos are notorious for being over-compartmentalized to where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
This can be used to your advantage, but also sometimes comes with disadvantages to the customer, as well.
So, yeah, with this ERT in place to take down potential threats, as soon as they get word they need to remove someone, they probably go way too gung ho, not understanding that APs are not a safety threat.
With that said, getting 86'd from one property and then walking into another property of that same group is just darn foolish.
Makes you wonder if the whole Paddock shooting was done to give the casinos the excuse they needed to bring back the goon squads from the mob days in a new guise.
Since a lawsuit is being filed, and there have been magazine articles about the victim at Excalibur I now don't think it's a big deal to expose his name hear. In the following article they spell his name Teams but it is actually spelled Teems. He has somewhat of a track record in poker too.
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=..._QyUWJG3k1Fuks
This is the same person who you said was strong armed and had his nose broken? The same person in the article?
If so, why hasn't this already been made public? I'm taking into consideration that his previous press coverage has made him a known figure.
I can understand how an "unknown AP" might not get media attention.
Please clarify.
Teems was also associated with Kelly Sun whom edge sorted for Phil Ivey. In the lawsuit depositions she credits Teems with teaching her everything she knows about gambling. He introduced her to Phil Ivey. She also said that she and Teems had won a lot of cars in their exploits.

There is a lot more media in Vegas than the RJ. There are four major network TV stations plus other newspapers and even a flurry of other casino websites. No one has this story except mickeycrimm?
I tweeted 3 TV stations. I thought I was direct messaging them. But they showed up for the public and I deleted the tweets. Who knows if they even read them. I haven't had time to search out another course. I've been back and forth from the casinos all day.
Alan, the LV media doesn’t usually cover these these types of stories. They are in bed with the casinos, they assume the guy was some sort of criminal and was legitimately ejected. Apparently, he is a high profile AP...a lawsuit will likely be filed, and then the media will cover it.
Looks like Mickey "scooped" the board's cub reporter.
Attaboy!
I sorry hear this. I not play UX anymore without helmet. Casino run by Hitler.
Mickey, all of the TV stations have websites with email addresses. They even have phone numbers. WOW. There is also Card Player Magazine which always reports on APs and casino lawsuits. Gee, even Esquire might be interested.
But so far this is a mickeycrimm exclusive?
Perhaps you should write the report. They might pay you.
I've just learned that Atlantis/Reno has banned several slot AP's this past week.
How do they know who to ban mickeycrimm? Do they ask the APs to show their AP membership cards at the door or do they look for the secret decoder rings on the hand that pushes the button?
Frankly these claims are getting more fantastic every day.
probably a dead giveaway when someone checks through multiple bet levels of banks of the same game and only plays certain ones. also they read forums like this, twitter, and even a website some dude set up detailing a lot of the common plays so if they see someone come in and only play these games in a hit and run pattern...
seems like in vegas slot hustlers are going to have to start using camouflage plays and covers like counters do.
