I know I fight a losing battle here because there are some that admire Singer and all his trolling. Some that think it is funny. Others that admire his bullying of people different than him, gays, blacks, probably even women. Some that like Singer are frustrated AP's or losing gamblers that admire him attacking players that can and have actually made money from the casinos. But none of that matters. I'll be honest, I just glanced at the picture originally and thought it was 2x every hand from previous round. Odds are actually far closer to a pat royal. So my math wasn't that off, just my memory of what was in the picture he posted was way off. If every hand has 2x multiplier then that'd almost always be a pat hand on the previous one. Also when I define a longshot, I don't typically use the exact frequency on something like this but I'd use the floor of the odds of what happened (if that makes sense). Being dealt straights etc would also count as they'd be even better than 2x. When I was thinking it was 2x, all you need to do is basically figure out what the odds of pat jacks of better are and go from there. When it isn't a pat hand, then it becomes far far more difficult and truly not worth spending time on - like you've suggested.
If I was trying to figure out the likelihood of something like this happening, I would never try and calculate the exact odds of this specific instance. I'd instead try to calculate that it takes to get a 5x or higher total multiplier. That'd include 6x-30x totals. Seems like a better way to reference the improbability of something like this happening.

Are people actually proud of hitting hands like this? If so, why? It's video poker. I can see being happy, but proud? Why would anyone be proud? Does this particular variation of video poker require some significant extra expertise that few people have?

The 2X multiplier used on one of Rob's five Royal Flushes (the 3X was used on another of them) don't have to be generated by jacks or better. For example, if you are dealt a scratch hand (holding nothing), you're final hand created from the replacement cards could be a pair of jacks or pair of queens or pair of kings or pair of aces. Any of which would generate a next hand 2X multiplier which would then have been used on one of Ron's dealt royal flushes. The scratch hand's replacement cards could generate any of the paying quad-kicker hands, a straight flush or royal flush - any of which would also generate a 2X multiplier. If you were dealt three to straight flush with three low cards and the two discarded cards were replaced by a high pair you would generate a 2X multipler for the next spin (the royal flush spin) - and on and on and on. So no,you would not, in fact, just need to figure the probabability of dealt jacks (which never improved in the ending hand otherwise a higher multiplier would get generated). The interested reader (which is to say no one) can go through all the other holds that could create a 2X multiplier for the next hand (all high card single card holds, all holds of a low card three of a kind that end up improving to a four of a kind with a kicker, etc. ). The interested reader would have to figure out the probability of getting each type of dealt hand hold that has the potential for its discard replacement cards to create a 2x next hand multiplier and then also calculate the probability of getting the proper (2x next hand multiplier) ending hand with that particular hold. There's quite a few combinations - a pat jacks or better that does not improve is but one of them.Quote:

Another thing an experienced UX player will do is when they want to quit playing they will lower the bet to five coins for one last hand if there are any multipliers up. That way the multipliers will be played off but there won't be any multipliers added.
So they think it suspicious you didn't do that. But it's just something that anyone who doesn't play the game much wouldn't know. It's how multipliers get left for the UX vultures.
Who said Rob is in South Dakota? You hang on every word he writes so you know better than this. We've been thru Rob leaving for South Dakota a dozen times. What difference does it make if you camp out in South Dakota or Minneapolis? You have more money if you camp in S.D. rather than the kids' driveways? Who cares?
I was serious. If parents want to travel around and spend chunks of time visiting their kids or parked in the driveways, that's as legitimate a way to live as any other. I've watched videos of people who live in their vehicles -- there's a bunch of channels of youngsters who have turned it into an art form. I've also done the math on how much the average American spends to raise a kid. Once you've spent that much, anything you do is by definition NOT "mooching." Far from it.
If you actually check my however many posts, there's a couple things you will either not find or find very little of -- you're not going to find the word "mooch," for example. And you're rarely if ever going to find me lambasting someone for parking in the kids' driveways for months. As I said, SP's UX five-play only goes as high as 10c denom. I'm no addict like EVERY GAMBLER WHO LIVES IN LV, and I need the practice for whenever I choose to play it at hi limits again. Don't you know--Im merely a beginner at it? When I was dealt that royal I was only maybe 20 minutes into my play. Walked away with $165k profit. Pretty nice day. MrV, "the Newell purchased by the Israeli" story, like almost every other part of Rob's story has changed. The fantom Newell was now purchased by someone else (other than the Fantom Isreali). I know it is hard to keep up because Rob's stories change so frequently. :rolleyes:
As for soxfan's question, which may be legit, since he doesn't seem to follow this Singer fiction/fantasy story that closely. Soxfan, there never was a Newell. Rob went down to the local RV dealership, located 7 miles from his daughter's house where he lives part of the year, pretended to be a perspective buyer and took pictures of himself inside a Newell RV, right there at the dealership. The pics were hilarious because Rob was laying on the bed in one, but wasn't allowed to have his feet on the bed. In another Rob was posed behind the steering wheel of the stationary Newell (on the dealership showroom floor) like a 6 year old would poses in a fire truck down at the local firehouse.
Rob then posted these picture's of HIS Newell. The following day, when it came to light what had occurred, I called the RV dealership and spoke with the general manager, who already knew about the incident because he had already received a call about it. The general manager's exact words to me was "who does something like that". Welcome to the world of Rob Singer, internet troll.
