That's the way, they be-came the Robby Bunch!
Did I do that?
There's nothing like watching a bunch of supposedly winning gamblers whine over a new provision that might make you pay taxes on money you lost. True colors shine brightly at the most opportune times.
Trump didn't know a thing about this inclusion because his friends and associates whom he may lend an ear to have wealth, and the majority of truly wealthy people do not hang out in casinos to gamble. Look around next time you gamble--are you among society's cream of the crop?
Nothing's gonna change in this new rule. Some states allow no losses deducted from gambling winnings, which kinda makes sense. Earnings get taxed, and whenever you spend that money or just throw it away doing whatever, by and large you can't deduct it. So just be happy you're allowed to deduct ANY losses on federal returns.
Most poker players are puke anyway. Who cares what they say?
A current example of why this new gambling deductions provision is irrelevant to players who know what they're doing in and around casinos....vs. those who like to talk the talk on these forums:
We've been in the Reno/Tahoe area for about a month now after driving back from the east coast and traveling thru the south. I chose to play exclusively at Peppermill Reno until 2 days ago, and I will not play anything anywhere other than freeplay for the remainder of the summer (which for us ends Oct. 15th).
Why Peppermill? Because after hitting that $1.5mil winner a few years ago I simply am not thrilled with playing that much anymore, but there's a lot of things I like about the Peppermill--especially the Tuscany suites. I also will not play higher than dollars after that hit, as the "bigger" jackpots just aren't as meaningful any more.
But....if you know Peppermill you know many of their machines with the $1 denomination allow up to 25 credits for your bet, which means I can cheat a little and get around my self-imposed "limitation". As such, ALL of my play in 9 visits has ONLY been for 20 credits on 98.8% Super Aces Bonus Poker--20 credits so as to eliminate signers for quads other than 2's thru 4's, unfortunately SF's on this game, and of course A's.
I've played a LOT--much more than I wanted to. But one of my goals was to confirm how, even on 4X and higher days, their comps accumulation is one of the worst in the business (while they DO have one of the best offers program for out-of-state players like me). I don't know how much I put through, but my comp balance is a comparatively pathetic $824, and I know it would be 4 times higher had I played an equal amount down the street at Atlantis.
Nonetheless, I've concluded my play having hit four Aces (an $8k winner) on 6 of my 9 visits, along with 11 four 2's, 3's, & 4's ($1600 ea.) and 2 SF's ($1200 ea.). I finished up $18,800 plus the $800+ in food comps, and I await all the lucrative room and freeplay offers to come.
Do I care about this new 10% gambling losses deductions rule or whatever it is? Am I concerned about parsing words in my contemporaneous gambling log about sessions or anything else that is being assumed by basically anyone who gambles? Nope and Nope! Why not? BECAUSE I'VE WON, and I won because I know what game to play and what cards to hold when to give me the best chance of getting lucky.
Trump doesn't care about this stuff because the people he knows don't waste time playing chink and white trash casino games.
Pay your taxes, stop complaining, or don't play!
How...strange.
We get to deduct capital gain losses against profits on the sale of securities.
Business get to deduct shop lifting losses.
I'd never heard this but sure enough some states follow this for state income tax purposes, one of which is Connecticutt, homw of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
I simply cannot see any "sense" or fairness to such a rule: let's say a Big Player plays a lot at Foxwoods and over a year has winnings of one million and losses of one million; he has to pay tax on one million?
Whoa...

I know 4 states off the top of my head, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, that withhold state gambling tax from every W2-G, 3 to 5%, depending on state. What? You want to file and get a refund? Fuck you, jack. Homey don’t play.
Oh, yeah. Mississippi too
How then do big bettors at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun get around this?
In the scenario I mentioned above I cannot imagine a bettor with a million in wins and a million in losses will in fact wind up joyfulliy paying tax on a million?
Gotta be a loophole / work around or else why would anybody venture into the high limit rooms there?
*shudders*
20+ years ago I won a $5K drawing in Tunica MS. They withheld 5% I think. I didn't live in MS. I got a MS Non Resident income tax form and filed it.
They only counted the $5K as my (MS) income. I didn't have to count my non MS income. I got the usual personal/standard deductions on the form and so didn't have much MS taxable income. I didn't try to claim any losses.
I got a refund of about half the withholding.
I have no idea what MS laws are now or how other states would handle non residents.
This wouldn't have helped much for a million dollar win though but might help on a slot hand pay.
I'll suck a dick on Tuesday for 20 million dollars, but other than that, you're very insecure with a need for validation and this shows in your aggression. You may have had no choice but to stop drinking, but you haven't gotten over your issues that led to your drinking. You're still an asshole and you just cannot comprehend just because you're successful at AP, it doesn't mean you're successful nor intelligent in your actions elsewhere.
You suck cock at truck stops for free. I dont gratuitously attack people. But i do respond in kind to gratuitous atacks on me. Like the attack you started on me right here out of the blue for no reason other than you are a retard, blowscockontuesdays.
You started it, faggot. So man up, bitch. I own you. You my bitch. When i say shit, you squat.
SHIT!!!!!!
Okay, you can stand up now
Im sorry you have such a disability which makes your life so hard in its own little way. Ill make a bet R Singer has your beat 3.75" to your 3.5". Being gay is not an insult to me, it's really funny you think you're hurting me by saying that, Im not an ignorant 15 year old, duh. Keep on trying little dick man.
Musk's party isn't going anywhere. But it has the potential of flipping elections to marxist dems. Musk knows that. That's his purpose, to wield the power to flip elections so republicans will bow to him. We need to boycott his products.
Thankfully, communist democrat Mamdani in New York is causing a mass exodus from the democrat party.
The hypocrisy is retarded.
"Marxists dems" Yea, lets not tax the wealthy so they can have a bigger and bigger slice of the pie while everyone else's is smaller. The goal here is for the powered classes to maintain it and at all costs.
We need to boycott his products.. oh you're trying to cancel him? Good luck the leftists already abandoned him.
I'm torn because I really despise Elon but it seems like maybe he is the one given he isn't beholden to everyone. Isn't on the Epstein list. etc.
Are young people getting more conservative?
As time went by I sort of got the notion that young voters were seeking "progressive" change, but I don't get that feeling any more.
Fact is, most of them seem apolitical and don't seem to care to engage in politics.
Question for little dick, is we the people by the people for rhe people marxist?
I for one would be out-of-line if I answered that.
Waaay out of line.....
No. They are still political.

I am not sure how Dems opposed it? Could you show a link? Oh the "big bill". Funny how it was supposed to be smaller government ... but we get these "big" bills. Just because they opposed that doesn't mean they opposed these specific policies.
Show me a link otherwise though I'm willing to listen .. then you can show me you think for yourself.
Fact is lowering taxes on the wealthy negates this. Why do you think BTC and gold keeps going way up? People realized that Trump ain't good for the longterm of this country so smart money is hedging big against inflation.
Even if everyone agreed on that in principle, wouldn't there still be endless arguments on the details? I'm not sure it would look much different than what we have today.
I think that die was cast the moment they figured out they could spend more than they receive.Quote:
The only way out is USA bankruptcy or printing our way out.
Our countrymen for over 200 years knew better. Things were relaxed only for the cold war, but we were supposed to pay it after we won the cold war. The truth is our greatest generation have birth to our worst generation aka boomers. I say let the shit hit the fan now and not wait for them to die before bad things happen. It's probably right to default and print because AI will not admit it as a legitimate possibility.
Thomas Jefferson was our greatest American hero. Fuck anyone that ties him and our declaration of Independence to Communist China
How about Or-a-ho?
Decisions, decisions..bang the wife for .the same old same old or ....
Not one vote for the BBB shows the working class is not a priority of the democratic party.
No one else thinks for me. I'm totally independent. You, on the other hand, are a lackey to your corporate puppet masters.
It's hilariously funny that YOU are talking about smaller government. You never saw a government program you didn't like. Tax Tax Tax. Spend Spend Spend.
Fact is, cutting taxes raises revenue. Fact is, raising taxes cuts government revenue.
Thanks for telling me I'm the smart money. I own a bunch of gold. But the big jump in the gold price came under Biden's inflation, nothing to do with Trump. Trump has inflation back in check and gold prices have flattened. You blaming Trump for inflation shows you can't correctly think for yourself.
What is phenomenal is how much money early buyers of bitcoin have made.
I never jumped aboard, alas.
Fact is you arr an insecure bozo who had to resort to completely making shit up.
Such a simple manipulated loser.
You have no idea about what government programs I support or anything else because I don't even talk about it. You're full of shit like most on here.
You likely invested in gold because you didn't want to pay your taxes. Lets be truthful.
I'm not sure about gold prices but inflation lags in a big way.
I'd probably bet money inflation goes up significantly from where it is now and end of Trumps term.
Mixkey is such an independent thinker.... lol.
AQ doesn't like anything or anyone who's better than him. That's what's so great about all that Trump does. He has these idiots pulling their own teeth out.
And I LOVE it!!!!
And of course mickey can't respond to anything. He has no clue about my politics except I've never liked Trump. He loves Trump. There are reasons unsuccessful simpleton people flock to Trump. Mickey also knows why he invested in gold. It wasn't because he was sharp money - he just wanted to hedge against inflation but mostly to avoid paying taxes. 100% lock.
I'll comment because you repeated it. If you think virtue is achieved through obedience to your slavemaster, you're more of a brainwashed simpleton than Mickey.
Gold is taxed punitively -- because they don't want any rats escaping the ship. In many jurisdictions, you have to pay sales tax to buy it. And the income tax treatment is vindictive. Gold is categorized as a collectible, which excludes it from the (relatively) relaxed rates assigned to long-term capital gains.
I’m a policy wonk. I like Trump policies. Can’t stand woke policy. And his policies aren’t far right. They are actually middle of the road. But you are so far out in woke left field his policies look far right to you.
I bought gold as an investment for years. But I really loaded up when Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act was being put together. Anyone with half a brain knew the bill would cause inflation to explode. Which is exactly what happened. It should have been called the Inflation Extreme Increase Act. Gold was at $1800 when the Act was passed then shot up 50% over the next two years.
How in the hell anyone thinks printing 9 trillion dollars and throwing it into the economy will reduce inflation is beyond me. But the bill wasnt really about reducing inflation. It was about dems paying off their donors while selling (lying) it to the public as reducing inflation.
Trump has inflation in check, much to your chagrin. And he’s brought in trillions of dollars in investments, much to your chagrin.
Hint: the stock market will probably be in the mid 50’s by the time Trump leaves office.
Paying off donors .. policy wonk. I will likely return to this post at some point since you are being civil but it will require some effort.
If printed money was given to everyone equally it wouldn't be such a big deal.
What we need is wealth tax and freeze spending. Or just burn the proceeds of the wealthy tax. That would start to level things out and let middle class have a chance at ownership . The biggest problem with money printing is it always ends up in the hands of the upper class. So they buy up assets to maintain their wealth.
This nonsense about me being woke is pretty funny. Mickey has to make up shit because of how much I despise Trump. He can't stand it to have his leader criticized so he proceeds to make up a false reality for the world to make sense to him.
You're not alone, brother: some of the "lesser lights" at Diversity Tomorrow accuse me of the same thing simply because I despise Trump, the man.
I tell the goobers that I like some (not all, obviously) of his policies, that I am an independent voter and that I dislike progressive politics but the nitwits just can't seem to get it.
I guess the Trump play book does not allow for gray areas?
Only idiots like you would pay sales tax on gold. And you’re probably idiot enough to pay 4% or 5% premiums. I wont pay more than 2%. I know where to buy right now for 1% premium. And guess what doofus, if i were to sell I would get at least 2% above spot. Thats another thing you got to watch for, Don Pimpleface. You need to know the exact spot price when you walk in the door. It changes quickly.
I've been a strong advocate of refilling the money hole.
The money hole should only be drained in an emergency. That's what it's there for.

You live in a woke area of the country. You dislike Trump, who to a majority of the country is saving our country from the devastation caused by the previous "woke" administration.
Thus....you are woke.
AQ? He hasn't woke up yet and likely never will. His so-called "facts" are those devised by woke losers.
Regardless....Trump is eradicating all the nonsensical wokeness. Just sit back and enjoy!
Rob, I assume this is directed at me, so I'll jump in.
Yes, Portland is "woke."
Very much so.
But I avoid going downtown now, I stay in the non-woke suburbs where my home is.
Not all of Portland metro is woke: I most certainly am not.
When BLM and antifa rioted I'd hoped the cops would sic police dogs on them and blast them off the streets with fire hoses; I wish every night were purge night against the homeless.
About the most liberal notion I have is I believe a woman should have the right to choose whether or not to get an abortion: her body, her choice.
So don't condemn me as a liberal fairy simply because I despise Don the Con: look beyond the antipathy and smell the refreshing tang of my independent musings, logical positions and articulated opinions.
You have to shop the gold dealers in every town. These are the coin shops. First google the spot price. Then call a gold dealer and check their price for a gold coin or bar that day.
Right now COMEX has the spot price at 3355 per ounce, APMEX at 3365. And right now I can buy krugs in a particular coin shop for 3393. The difference between the spot and retail is the premium, Thats around 1% here.
What you dont want to do is buy gold advertised on TV. They get 10% or higher premiums. Stick to the coin shops.
I always call coin shops to see what they have in stock and get that days price then compare it to the spot price. I wont buy from the ones with high premiums.
You are all fags.
I dont think you're a liberal fairy, but wanting to live among the woke isnt exactly convincing. I know lots of retirees haven't the resources to just get up and move, but if I lived in the communist states of Wash., Oregon or California I'd get the hell out ASAP!
You try so hard but you fail so much just like you have at every venture in your life. The only thing you were successful at is trolling Kewl.
What a legacy.
I never said I couldn't buy gold. I said I bought too much Silver. (in relation to the gold I purchased)
Please let adults have an adult discussion about reality. You stick with Kewl.
Rob likes to rib folks but there is in fact some real substance to the guy.
He says he worked overseas and that is likely true, as I've found and posted a court document showing he then had an address in England.
Broke ass losers don't typically have overseas addresses.
As for his claims: does it really matter, when the end result is just shits and giggles?
Sure, I've gone down the rabbit hole trying to debunk his claims and he just laughs...as well he should.
Well played, Rob...well played.
Fuck trees. Trees are retarded. Cut them all down. Fucking woke trees. Fuck em. People who have trees make me want to puke.
Trees are also fags.
