Beautiful. Simply beautiful.
Agreed! The right game for that dealt hand.
I'd like that to be on my wall at work.
You nor anyone else have ever provided proof. All you guys do is continuously claim that because you say you only "play with an edge" then that's somehow proof of winning. Didn't work out so good for the king of playing with an edge (Shack) now, did it. At least he proved something when he had to beg for money.
Maybe in the past before he was well known and recognizable. But now, there's no way he'd get away with AP play. Especially table games. Not everything revolves around VP.
Getting back to the purpose of this particular thread: big casino wins and jackpots.
Below is my Royal #4 of the year. At Caesars Palace last night. I had to drive up to do some "due diligence" on a particular issue and then stopped in for a little play. I started with $1,000 in the machine and the machine was "hot" giving me KKKK twice, and quad 4s all before I hit the Royal. I cashed out a profit on the $1,000 as well as the handpay on the Royal.
What's interesting is that this is the same machine that I hit the sequential royal on -- the only single line $5 machine in the Palace Court Slots room. This was my second royal on that machine. I'm not saying that machine is "loose" -- I think the concentration of royals on that machine is because there are only a few machines that I play both at Caesars and at Rincon so if I am going to hit a royal it most likely will be on one of those few machines.
To recap the previous royals this year (2015)
1. 25-cents on Bonus at Rincon
2. $5 sequential at Caesars
3. 3x multiplier on 25-cents on Super Times Pay at Rincon
4. and the new one is this $5 royal on the same machine as Royal #2
Good timing :-)
Beautiful Alan. Congrats!
Guys,
I agree with Alan on this one. Saying Shackleford wasn't/isn't an AP is disingenuous. Obviously, there are some casinos, somewhere, where he could flex his AP muscles. Also, if you extend the definition of AP to all forms of gambling, including horse and sports betting, Shackleford does imply that he is an AP.
Singer will point this out -- saying someone is not an AP because casinos do not allow his play, therefore he has no way to make money, is just a semi-smooth way to allow anyone who calls themselves an AP to go broke gambling and blame it on something other than their AP expertise.
Shackleford considered himself a sports gambling expert, or at least as someone who was in bed with them. Nobody banned him from sports gambling.
So you're stating an opinion about Shack when he says otherwise. OK. When I talked to him he said his AP play included VP (never able to win at it) BJ, Sports Betting, live poker, and occasionally baccarat.
Casinos not only allow, the WANT AP's to play in their casinos. Why do you think they run so many +EV promotions all the time, almost non-stop? They know the AP's will rush in with more cash from any source possible than the normal Joe. It is what keeps their operations going.
Rob, learn to hole card blackjack and poker games and see how long you last. This is what true APs that are real threats do. They don't waste they're time on negligible +EV stuff. Even I wouldn't. Might as well just get that In and Out job Alan mentioned.
Anthony Curtis & Stan Wong used to claim the same thing--that they were banned up & down the Strip because they were so good at that. I investigated them for GT. Not one Casino Manager said it was true, and I wrote the article about it.
I agree casinos can and do toss people who are stupid enuf to get caught. None of it proves any of them win.
No casino manager is going to tell you the truth about other people. I dont care who asks them. They have a reputation to uphold.
Congrats Diamind and Alan!
Hi Alan:
Very nice. I think I know that machine at Ceasars. Did you take all that money in a check?
FAB
FAB I took it as cash. When you take a check from Caesars they temporarily close your credit line. I didn't want to go thru the hassle of reopening the credit line on a subsequent visit. On the way home I put the cash thru an ATM which is always entertaining -- 40 bills at a time. I have a routine for this with packs pre-counted in separate pockets.
Got Royal #4 last night.
Nice dannyj
How wonderful is that-- holding just one card. I'm sure you were hoping just for a paying pair!
I've read Shackelford on video poker plays he has so called worked. Much to thin of an edge for an AP. Stuff like 100.24%. Real video poker AP's don't play anything close to that thin of an edge. 2% is about as thin as most real AP's will go. Shackelford has a weakness there. From his own mouth he is not very good at poker. But he has excellent sports betting plays. Although one bet has failed him these last several years-no safety in the Super Bowl.
You nailed it singahkillah -- the edge in video poker is so small that it's almost insignificant. So is the difference between 8/5 bonus and 7/5 bonus. Here's where Singer is right: you need the big wins to be a winner and the grind won't work.
Red, that's mickeycrimm, a well-known phony story-teller, loser in gambling, binge-drinking alcoholic, and all-around lowlife with no dental plan.
So the likely answer is, yes....for his breed.
Too busy making 20 million dollars off his site, that he sold the "cash cow" for a measly 2.35 million before it dies off completely. Now, he wants to get on the tv show "Survivor". Begs for a chance to get on the show at the end of his audition video. You couldn't make this stuff up. Gamblers are funny people.
singahkillah is absolutely right. Most APs won't go after a tiny edge like that. Even 2% is pretty small, but slightly playable. Rob's description of mickeycrimm is similar to how many people would describe Rob. Oh, the irony!
RS__ again, the only thing significant about you is the use of those initials as you cower behind your computer. Otherwise, your depiction of what you believe an "AP" is further demonstrates how much of an amateur you are.
Why don't you tell us how much you admire your hero and idol, Shack, for having begged for money to feed his family?
That would be fun!
I love this. APs talking about edges greater than 2%. Just ask them where they get it?
No, I don't think they'll talk about it in an open forum because that's too easy to debunk.
I've spent a lot of time talking to "advantage players" about their advantage and not one of them has an "advantage" that beats the edge that luck can give you.
Sure you can scour the Strip for abandoned multipliers, and you can hunt for slot jackpots that are close to the guaranteed hit level. And you can play the shifts of sloppy dealers who flash hole cards. But is that really an "advantage play" or is that just getting lucky in finding someone else's errors such as running short of money and leaving a multiplier or a jackpot about to be hit? Or is that getting lucky with a sloppy dealer?
To me an "advantage player" is someone who uses a particular skill to win such as a card counter in BJ, or someone who knows how to handicap horses or picking teams in games because he has studied them. Yes, I would also call dice influencing an advantage play IF IF IF someone really had the ability to influence dice with some consistency.
It is fact that, when referring to players, advantage play is nothing more or nothing less than a self-confidence-building peculiar state of mind. If you want to talk about particular ADVANTAGE PLAYS; barring blatant errors by the casinos, advantage plays are precisely what is in the hands of every casino for every game that they offer.
Anyone can make up a >2% "advantage play" in order to justify their state of mind. And no one is "expected to make" anything when they visit a casino even if they've calculated out a theoretical 15% "edge". Casinos don't give away money to any group of players or any one player, and that's what you're saying they do.
AP's are the kings of phantom bucks and gambling addiction. Why else does anyone think these people say they go to casinos so often and tell such tales under anonymous names.
It's a hard thing to explain. Why do I excel in the gambling world where others fail? There are multiple reasons. I think my exceptional math on the game is a prerequisite. I think my discipline in the game is exceptional. But the one main reason is I never intended to fail. It was going to work for me, period. No place left to go. I either succeed in gambling or I'm done in life. Another great reason is I was always willing to go wherever it took to succeed. There are not many like me. I'm the real true in the gambling world. Not the cheap imitation.
Wherever we are going from here we don't really know. That's the heart of a true professional gambler. A professional gambler that has no other investments in life. Just his ability to gamble for a profit. A true professional gambler goes on heart and heart alone. A true professional gambler who has lived any extent on this planet is a man that doesn't trust anyone but himself. That true individual, if he has any age on him, always has a stash somewhere.
The truth about us true professional gamblers is we don't give a rats ass what comes in the future. We are willing to deal with it on our own terms.
More mickeymouse alcohol-induced rambling. Remember, this is the same guy who went bust claiming to be a Nevada "AP" in some distant past, where his phony stories originate from. The only truthful part of them is how he had to hitch hike around because he couldn't afford even a junker.
Nothing wrong Mickey with your having this fantasy about how you're the pro's pro and all that. It's just next time, please come up with a more believable story other than making six figures a year playing keno in Montana, yet you admit to not being able to buy a car, a home, or a dental plan.. Yes......you do have a habit of spilling your guts often as you fight it out with the bottom of all those bottles.
My question for the "pro": How many DUI's has that illustrious past produced, and how many jail cells have you seen?:)
Why should I teach anything to a person like you who just insults people like me. I don't care what you believe. You can keep on being ignorant as far as I'm concerned. Do you really think that I would show someone else my plays? That's a big no no, my friend. Show someone else your play and the next day you will walk in the door and can't get a seat-because the person you showed your play to will be in the seat, dumass. No, I would much prefer you keep on believing in gambling addict Rob Singer's very dangerous Martingale tactics. Bet more when you are losing. That will do the trick. Oh!!! And special plays? Why don't you just ignore everything but the royal cards. Just play the royal cards. Throw everything else away. I guarantee you will hit more royals. But I also guarantee you will lose your ass hitting all those royals. Special plays are for those who need special education.
Believe it or not, true AP's love having Rob Argentino around. It is so very nice to see that self absorbed dolt disseminating all that non-sensical disinformation to all the dum-dums. He keeps all the dum-dums on the negative plays, guaranteeing that we get the seats on the positive plays. Thanks, Rob.
PS. two percent ain't jackall. Ten percent is more my style.
High Alert! Many Gamblers Heading To Montana For Those 10% "Edges"! Hahahahaha!!!
I think the best part is Rob doesn't think 10% edges are even possible. Since he can't figure them out, he reverts to his "winning" martingale system [just like every other clueless gambler], and bashes anyone with real sense.
I love winning systems...is that why you only go up to $2 denom now a days? You'd think, with a winning system, one would be starting off at the $1 or $2 denom and growing up to the $25 and $100 denoms.
I also have a problem with 10% edges. Without revealing too much detail, can you at least break down the elements that add up to a 10% edge? Let me give you an example that isn't quite 10%:
Return on the game 99.96%
Free play bonus 1.00%
Comp bonus 0.25%
this doesn't give away your game -- but it will let us know how you are figuring your 10% edge. thanks
We've gone over this before. I say how the free play (bonus?) is really high and do your break-down, showing the %'s, then you, Rob, and your lackies, say "IMPOSSIBRU!!!" And we go nowhere.
game 98%
freeplay 17%
comp 0.1%
You're showing your frustration RS__, and I'm enjoying watching you coming unglued at the seams while you put on a display of someone who wants to be a real gambler but just hasn't figured out what people are saying. I suggest you read with better understanding.:)
A 10% edge because of free play is not only stretching the truth--it's as arbitrary as your desperate attempt at justifying it. I got $4500 in free play from the Palms. That has no more to do with any "edge" than do those stupid reel-'em-in online gambling site bonuses do. Wise up.
Your next statement not only shows your inexperience, it confirms that you only do selective reading here. If you pay attention you'd see where I hit several $50k winners and a $100k winner shortly after retiring from professional play. Schedule C was no longer an option, and while it was nice having those and other 5-figure winners, my tax return was a massive shock. Smart people adapt and adjust. So $2 is a good limit with few expected W2G's for someone who only plays once every 2-3 months anyway.
Did I say this yet? Wise up.
Rob, I'm not frustrated. Appreciate the concern though.
I don't gamble/play online. Well, I did once, but that's really it. Much better opportunities in brick & mortar casinos.
I don't do my own accounting and don't know what Form Schedule C is...but I'm almost certain you don't need to be a professional gambler to off-set your winnings (W2G's) with losses come tax time.
RS___ if you think you are an advantage player and you are not using Schedule C you are making a very, very big mistake. ONLY if you put your gambling wins and losses on a Schedule C will you be able to come out ahead. If you use only a Schedule A to list gambling wins and offsetting losses you are either in big trouble OR you really aren't winning any money.
I'm afraid that by telling us "I don't do my own accounting and don't know what Form Schedule C is" you have revealed that the Emperor is not wearing any clothes.
Like I said, Alan, I don't do my own accounting. I just send everything to my accountant and she does all the forms and stuff.
Just say, "I made a mistake. Thanks for correcting me." Works like a charm.
And you sign it. If your accountant is not including a Schedule C for your PROFITABLE advantage play, you need a new accountant.
Do you understand the difference between reporting casino wins on a Schedule A vs. a Schedule C? And do you understand the value of offsetting losses on a Schedule C vs. a Schedule A? If you are able to find "advantage plays" then the Schedule C becomes your most valuable advantage play.
Yes, I sign all the forms she sends me. I don't take note of which forms I'm signing, though. But I know she off-set losses against my W2G's.
All he's doing is digging his hole deeper. Now we know why he wants to be anonymous.
What's funny is that all he says he does is "send her the paperwork" and somehow she doesn't laugh in his face for not directing her to file schedule C.
He's the same type of roving, phony story-teller as crimm. He just wrecked whatever credibility he has. He didn't even see the big red flag when he tried to pass off free play as "a 10% edge". Now he claims to be some big deal AP, yet he has no clue about filing tax returns and what deducting losses does to a schedule A. Here's a flash RS: with your fantastic amount of winnings, if you don't get hit with the AMT, your AGI will be so out of whack that you won't know how to write that big a check.
Happy to take credit for frustrating this clown into exposing himself. They all eventually fall.
I signed something years ago from someone who I thought I could just trust, but it turned into such an expensive mistake that I still suffer some consequences.
I don't know about that, nobody knows it all; but, at least he might thank you for the help.
Most of what I do is working termporary advantages. That means either it's a progressive game or a banking game, or a combination of both progressive and banking. I walk through casinos looking for these edges. If I don't find anything I turn around and walk right back out the door and head to the next casino. When I find a good play I grab a seat. I would say I spend about half the time scouting and half the time in the seat playing.
The key is knowing how to do the math of a play. Say I find a five-spot keno play where the meter runs at 4% and the bet is fifty cents to qualify for the meter....And the meter is at $196. The 3 out of 5 pays 5 bets and the 4 out of 5 pays 32 bets. I can do the math on this play from scratch. But it's easier to just go to the Wizard of Odds keno calculator.
You enter the 3 out of 5 payoff and the 4 out of 5 payoff into the field. Leave the 5 out of 5 on zero. It will show an 80.66% return. So 100% minus 80.66% is 19.33%.
The frequency of the 5 out of 5 is 1550.57. Now we determine the cost to run one cycle.
1550.57 X 50 cents X 19.33% is $149.86. So you go back to the keno calculator and enter 392 bets for the 5 out of 5. $196 is 392 bets. It will come up 106%. The meter runs at 4% so I've got a 10% play.
Subtracting the cost to run one cycle ($149.86) from the $196 means it is a $46 earn. Plus, since the meter runs at 4% I'm expected to put $31 into the meter in 1550.57 games. So the play is an average $77 earn.
On turbo speed the game plays at 40 games per minute. So my average seat time is about 39 minutes for an average $77 earn. So my seat time in this spot is worth about $115 an hour. But like I said, I spend about half the time scouting and half the time playing. The $77 earn might not sound like much but what if I get 6 or 8 plays a day at this game.
Phantom bucks are a wonderful thing to "AP's". Now go ask the wizard, Dan Paymar, Skip Hughes, Yuri Sorkin, Frank Kneeland etc. how much "earning" all that X amount/hour theoretical stuff means to them. Then ask Bob Dancer if losing his house and half his cash plus the car to Shirley in his "AP" addiction-related divorce was all only theoretical...or real!
It is amazing to me how much Singer invests his emotional security in the events of the lives of the gambling writers on this planet. Do you really give a shit who marries who or who divorces who? But Singer is really hung up on that. To the point that he is just a little boy crying for his mama. A little boy throwing a temper tantrum. Waaaaa! Waaaaa! Waaaa! Litttle Robby Singer crying out like the little bitch that he is. Things didn't go like he thought they should have went so he cry's like a little bitch. little robbie singer, the crying little bitch.
I have been a frequent recipient of Rob's rants about the evils of divorce which he always links to gambling as the cause. What Rob fails to understand is that sometimes it's better to pay them to get out of a bad marriage and gambling has nothing to do with it.
That Rob is happy in his marriage is wonderful. But he should stop judging others. It's old. And it's obnoxious. But then, what else would you expect? That's Rob, and we love him for it.

Where I'm from in Mississipi the old folks told me about men who are "tetched.". In yankee language it means "touched." It basically means an insane crazy man. They told me that I should never fool with a man who is "touched." That person is insane and will never change or get any better. That its best to just leave that idiot alone.
I guarantee you that if the old folks were still alive today and met Rob Singer they would tell me "that boy is tetched."
A long and happy marriage shows stability in decent living habits and personal & business decision-making, it helps clear your mind so you can think to you best ability, and it helps create a rock-solid commitment to properly act on & endure everything that comes at you in life.
People that do the creepy things Dancer does to wives, who go thru multiple divorces, who live like the slob mickeycrimm is and lives like with no chance in hell of ever finding a female who'll marry him (and it explains why he has always been alone) or who put gambling before any relationship, simply give up much of the good that life has to offer and/or find relationship-ruin far easier than those of us who do not have those problems. Success in just about everything come much easier for those who do not have relationship-chaos in their lives. (Or of course, in Mickey's sad, sad case, zero relationship issues in his life). It is simply easier and much more satisfying and peaceful to have a long, enduring and very happy marriage. And I'm sure it'll make a giant difference the day the my wife or I are the first to go.
That is the true name of the game my friends.
Methinks he doth protest too much.
Rob: What about Revlon Ron Perelman? He's had five wives, four divorces. One of the richest men in America (mostly self-made) at $15 billion net worth. That's billion, with a "B". What would you say to THIS guy???
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Perelman
Rob's too modest to mention this in context, but his staying married probably has something to do with the formidable size of his schlong, about which Rob has waxed eloquent on several forums. Think about it -- if a woman gets hooked on a big schlong, she's not going to leave the owner. Plus, after she's enjoyed that schlong for a year or two, nobody else may be interested in her, if you get my drift.
What Rob is subliminally implying about all of you multi-marriage heathens is that you fail in marriage (and video poker and life) because you don't measure up.
So wise up and size up!!
If the small get many I'll stay small.
Dang, this Rob Singer has it all: VP guru status, a trophy wife, a luxury motor coach AND a huge piece of man-meat?
Jonah Falcon has uhm....the world's confirmed largest and he has only managed a one-year relationship with a woman his entire life:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonah_Falcon
http://thedailyshow.cc.com/videos/fm...on-needs-a-job (Comedy Central Jon Stewart)
I think Rob Singer should teach Jonah Falcon how to play video poker. This would put Batman and Robin out of business as the Dynamic Duo. it would also give new meaning to the phrase "big casino wins and jackpots" which is what this thread is really meant for.
That is a low blow RS_....Pun intended?
Did Rob tip you off? His wife will be upset.
Hey, people, keep it (up). You're making good progress here.
Alas, I spoke too soon.
Redietz is no longer gay in alternate universes.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I wonder, is the only difference of wives Dancer and Singer, the latter's believes the BS?
