One time A.Wolf was whining about how how do we know if your watches are genuine, and I posted a video where I weighed out a number of them to show that they were solid gold or platinum and weighed exactly what would be expected for that particular Rolex, Breitling, Patek, Breguet, etc.

Why so many rolexes? If I had your money I'd have some FP Journes 100%. Do you go to the rolex AD at the casino?

Honestly I find rolexes so uninspired. I like watched that stand out a bit but not like a Richard Mille. The thing about rolexes is how slowly they depreciate so I've considered buying one due to that. It isn't so much about the cost of the watch and more about cost of ownership.

I actually bought a watch winder so I can alternate between my watches. Having to set a watch beyond the time is tedious.

I actually bought a $70 automatic from China with day, date, year, month. Incredible for $70. No one in America makes anything close to that and if they did it wouldn't be less than 100x the price.

Thought about buying a rolex super clone.. ha

Next watch will likely be an omega.

Actually I've been taking on watches as a hobby as I've drifted from gambling. Gf recently found out she is going to argue in front of a state Supreme Court and is way too busy in general to fuck around at casunos.

Singer is right about driving from casino to casino and it being a lonely existence. I've had enough.

Analog watches.. I'm going to learn to service/fix them as a hobby. A nice little offline hobby to help me with patience. Seems zen to me but I need new interests. Watches are a good fit as I don't care about cars or sports. I'd rather sit around and talk to a group of lesbians vs most men.

I've always loved listening to music and over the years I've learned a lot about being an audiophile and have several very good stereo systems which give me great listening pleasure.

It's been a fun journey and not terribly expensive: the key is to learn what was and was not good equipment and buy it used: let someone else take the depreciation hit.

Also realize that spending more does not automatically guarantee you'll get all that much more...very good is good enough.

Nah not an audiophile and you can't really collect anything outside of the music. So it is more about the music.

A good automatic watch you can take apart and service it on your own. Clean the parts, reoil it. Maybe replace something. THere are many levels.

Funny from musician friends I've learned everyone is releasing LPs and now cassettes as CDs are totally dead. No one wants hard copy digital music in a streaming world. So now all these indie bands are released records and such.

BUt alas I'm not a big music guy. I love my classic rock but an audiophile I'll never be. I don't even think I can hear/understand subtleties if I tried.

I agree about not buying new. Let someone else do it. Rolexs may be the only watch where you can sell them for more htan they cost retail but thats only because of the supply/demand games Rolex plays. If you're a regular customer and buy the less desirable stuff then they'll see you the most desirable stuff. That, or you have to be on a list for years. Watches like Brietling take huuuuge hits as soon as you buy them. $10k on a watch and then you can't sell it anywhere for over $5k. SOmething like that. No thanks.

My Seiko Pogue was the same model of watch that was smuggled on the moon. First automatic chronograph. I suspect it was redialed though .. but it is my first used watch and I'll take it all as a lesson learned. When I go look at it in the dark the lume on the dial is just too bright for a 50ish year old watch. But whatever, serial number is my birth month and any watch nerd instantly recognizes it. Has a cool look to it. Better than buying a fake watch for $10k or whatever.
