During the '90s, while doing the Gaming Today column, Rob was probably taken seriously by most tourists and civilians. On one hand, Gaming Today was clearly not The Mensa Guide to Gambling, but it was distributed in many of the biggest sports books in the city, so I'd guess it was reaching 10K people every week, and Rob often had a front page slot with his photo.
An AP video poker author was frequently in the same issue, so it made for some diverse reading. And there were business and entertainment columns. Anybody just coming in off a flight was likely to pick up a copy.
In the 90's I was working my way through Jr high and High school, so obviously before my time in the gambling community. So I have never understood this Gaming Today column part of the story. Can you help me out with this? I don't want to get the dates wrong and have mickey or coach belly call me a liar, so lets just say, by my understanding sometime in the mid 90's Rob attempted to play video poker for a living, supposedly using VP AP techniques, supported by math. He says he failed at this to the tune of several hundred thousand lost over 4 years. Apparently this failure is what turned him off to the math and the math based and proven ways of playing with an advantage in favor just general voodoo thinking.
So how exactly did that qualify him to write a column in a gambling newspaper? I get that this Gaming Today wasn't an AP publication, but even so, how does "I am a losing player, who lost several hundred thousand dollars over the past few years" translate into writing a column as a supposed expert.
That would be like hiring a chef, who's restaurant closed due to bad food reviews, to write an expert column on being a chef? Or a lifetime .196 hitter in baseball write a column on the art of hitting. I just don't get it.
It was three magi who brought him his plays.Quote:

Okay, let me frame this for you as delicately as I can. Chuck Di Rocco and his wife Eileen get mentioned in the book, "We Were Wise Guys and Didn't Know it." Chuck Di Rocco was from the East Coast. He was old school. I think he established the Gaming Today predecessor in 1976 or thereabouts. He was also a big-time gambler.
In the 80's and very early 90's, being somewhat bright, Italian, and not being afraid of at least some hard work would get you a decent job in LV. And probably more than that. Rob's Italian. He can write. He knew his way around Las Vegas. Hiring him to do a column for no pay was probably a no-brainer. Once you're semi-connected, you were good to go for a while. You didn't have to be politically correct or a Harvard grad to do well in LV back then.
Off the top of my head, I'm not going to get into what years Rob claimed what because Rob changed that storyline so often, I'd be playing catchup. But let's be clear -- you have Chuck Di Rocco, a big-time gambler who might have dropped a few hundred K himself on this and that. Dropping a few bucks wasn't going to be any kind of disqualifier to writing a gambling column. Gaming Today had Keno Lil offering advice on how to play Keno. They had some guys writing poker columns who were undoubtedly not on the positive side of the lifetime ledger. Writing a column did not require winning. In fact, it may have been a disqualifier. Gaming Today is a tourist rag; it's trying to amp up tourists' gambling mojo. It's not there to actually help people win; it's there to get them lathered up to gamble.
So no mystery as to the Argentino hire. If I were Di Rocco, I would have hired him.
As to why he was fired, I'm sorry, relieved of duties, he became obnoxious regarding some people and Chuck Di Rocco died (in 2004, I think). Eileen Di Rocco took over and had little patience with Rob's antics.
While Rob was working for Chuck, I would never have bet against Rob being able to have x number of dollars available for escrow or having W2Gs for large amounts. It was too easy to do that. Chuck could have set anything up in an hour if necessary.
The semi-humorous kicker is that one of my very good friends and Di Rocco moved in many overlapping circles, so if digging into Argentino became a priority, I think I could likely come up with tidbits. But who cares? He's an Italian dude who did well in LV until he didn't. A very common storyline.
How do I know this stuff? I was in LV 90-100 days a year concurrent with Rob. Chuck Di Rocco's original columns in the Gaming Today predecessor were sports-oriented. Chuck was a sports guy. And a few other things that I'm saving for my autobiography. Some of us had quite a few dealings with people who were wise guys and didn't know it. Or did.
Thank you redietz. That helps, but frankly it is still perplexing to me.
Thanks for the welcome. I see that Druff doesn't post very often on this forum. I thought since he was stuck laid up in the hotel that he may catch up on this thread and give us his opinion. He always has good insights on these type of things.
I'm curious to where Singers IP shows him the day of the meetup. My guess is the same VPN service as he used before, that will let him pick a Vegas IP address.
The thread really won't take long to read start to finish. Most of it is quoted post that are replyed to, they take up a large amount of space.
Why do you say that?Quote:

I think it would be great if the format on this forum could be set up like a Druffs other forum. I attached a picture below for those who have not been there.
The basic difference is it allows you to write “single words or short comments at the end of someone else’s post. This is great beacuse you don’t have to “quote and reply” if you want to write a single word or a short sentence.
It’s great for many reasons. A lot of the congestion in the forum is “quoted post”. It would eliminate much of that when the reply is short. It also allows the reader to see the comments right there after they read the users post. Overall a great feature.
Speaking of one word reply’s. These would be beneficial situations to write these vs. quoting the post.
I don’t remember what the majority of these even mean!
NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE who these were against or to who wrote them. There just a word or words I remember seeing within the forum:
HOBO
RIP
MAXIPAD
SCOOTER BOY
BROKEBACK BOYS
KJOCCHIO
POSER PRO
KEYSTONER
SMELLY BELLY
QUEENS REPORTER
Once again, no offense to anyone!
I have an idea what some of these mean, plus many more. I’m sure I will get called a few names if I stick around long enough.
In the 90's Lenny Frome was the video poker writer for both Cardplayer Magazine and Gaming Today. He was a popular writer who exposed certain games to be very high payback and even positive payback. He was a retired NASA engineer who worked with the software of the day to analyze games and create strategies. It was his wife that liked to play VP so he studied the games to make her a better player.
It was Lenny that got me to looking at video poker. At the time I was a low limit poker player. I wound up playing video poker pretty much everyday for five years.
Lenny died in 1998. Gaming Today advertised for VP writers offering $75 per article. Paymar then Dancer were both there but didn't last long. Then DiRocco found Rob. Rob's contrarian views resonated with the masses. His views on randomness are the same as the masses. They don't believe in randomness worth a shit.
However, the pros took a dim view of Rob. Dancer, Paymar, Scott, Skip Hughes and others made many complaints to DiRocco about Rob. Why did DiRocco keep Rob around so long? Pretty simple. Circulation. DiRocco made money off the masses but not a dime off the pros.
But to diffuse the situation Eliot Frome, son of Lenny Frome, was hired to write about VP. He was a boring writer and not nearly as astute as his father.
While DiRocco thrived on the controversy, his wife didn't. So Rob's stint there ended not long after DiRocco's death.
Rob's obituary of Skip Hughes was not to flattering. But Hughes' complaints to DiRocco about Rob were not to flattering either.
Valid Point.
But I don't give a shit.
No such thing as VCT Rookie of the Year.
This place is the Frying Pan and its very easy to get burnt.
Nothing but a bunch of sharks over here waiting for one drop of blood in the water.
Notice how that Rat Fink Boz had to defect over to PokerFraudAlert.
Always got DuckPin Bowling if that still exists.
When I lived in New England I played a little bit of CandlePin.
Fun.

Fuck you, you fat junkie. I’ve been over there for a couple years and honestly it’s the same boring shit over and over here. I read but don’t say much here anymore. Not much to add that hasn’t been said.
But I did enjoy calling out your BS sports betting claims. You thought you were smarter than the math and it caught up with you. But you blamed it on me putting a jinx on you. Maybe as a joke, but you never know with someone like you that’s believes in parlays.
Now get back to eating shit, getting high and talking about how dishonest you are and how no one should ever trust you.
Fucking clown.
Fuck you too Coach. Still laughing how they finally got you at WoV.
You and Monet make quite a pair. Who you trying to meet up with today? With your threats to kick their ass.
And who the fuck even talks about bowling anymore? No wonder this forum is dying and never gets any new members. Bowling, who the fuck under 50 has been in a bowling alley in decades?
More Rare so More Fun?

HOBO-maxpen calls me a hobo because before my gambling career I rode the rails.
RIP-frequently used by maxpen at the end of a post
MAXIPAD-Slang for maxpen. He's also known as maxpuke, maxpunk, mental midget maxie.
SCOOTER BOY-Don't know this one
BROKEBACK BOYS-Slang for the gay contingent on VCT which includes maxpen, kewlj and redietz.
KJOCCHIO- Kewlj is also known as KJ. KJocchion is a cross between KJ and Pinocchio.
POSER PRO-Slang term by video poker pros to describe someone that don't know anything except "if that guy is doing it then it must be positive so I'm gonna do it to."
KEYSTONER-Slang term for VCT member Keystone.
SMELLY BELLY-Slang name of VCT member Coach Belly
QUEENS REPORTER-Slang Term for Alan Mendelson who claims that he once interviewed the Queen of England. Unlike some of the others I have no reason to disbelieve Alan.
What a freaking forum this is. :(
When have I ever said I love it here? Find me one time I said that. This is a troll forum. I don't know who is to blame for that. Is it Alan for allowing Singers BS and trolling back in the day that lead to this point? Was it Druff for not cleaning it up anywhere along the line, when he had the chance. The only time Druff ever said anything is when someone made a derogatory comment about Jews. Then he took offense.
I have long known this isn't the forum for me. I want to share some of my experiences and hear experiences of others. And learn from others....others real experiences. THAT isn't this place!
MaxPen asks why I keep going back to WoV? WoV, the way it was when Shackleford gave a damn, is what I am still looking for. And there is only one thing standing in the way of it being that again. Shackleford who no longer gives a damn, quitting and leaving. Instead fewer and fewer members visit everyday. Yesterday was 100. Saturday 103. Today, a weekday they will do a little better, maybe 110, 112. 4-5 years ago those numbers were 300 on weekdays and 275-280 on weekends.
Probably wishful thinking that WoV can ever get back to anything close to what it was though. My days of sharing my experiences are pretty much over as long as the trolls rule these open forums. This past weekend, I played 2 days, a total of 4 sessions on the strip. All 4 sessions were huge losing sessions, making for the largest (and probably quickest) 2 day loss I have ever recorded in 19 years of playing blackjack for a living. Except for a couple hundred bucks my blackjack YTD went from almost 30k to zero in less than 3 hours total play.
I would have liked to have shared that, because the one thing least understood by what blackjack players are still around is variance. Most don't understand it. and few are able to handle it, which is why you get players freaking out screaming this mob city is cheating them with Chinese made cards. They haven't a clue about the normal variance involved that is sometimes extreme.
So I didn't share that here, or at WoV or anywhere that it may benefit other players to understand variance, because the trolls would have turned it into a fiasco. Instead I shared it on a closed forum, a private forum, that the trolls can't get to. A forum that requires a referral for membership. Problem is that forum is seasoned players, many VERY seasoned  and not players that might benefit and learn from other players experiences. So I am basically a guy without a forum. All that is left is for me to join in the trolling. :(
Rob.Singer has annoyed a lot of folks over the years. One of them suggested I pass this link onto you, Positive, while we wait for Dan's eventual analysis. This is from 2014, and it's pretty cut and dried.
https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...ll=1#post19929
This history of stupidness is why nobody believed for a second that he hit anything.
Dan's analysis isn't going to be anything special or change anything. Druff will issue one or two lines (if anything at all) stating that the jackpot is not real, nor did Rob hit it. Maybe he scolds Rob for reneging on a wager, maybe he doesn't mention it at all. And I doubt Druff will mention that Rob lied and dragged LV gambling attorney Bob Nersesian into these BS troll games of his.
Druff will do nothing about all the trolling and vicious name calling and attacks, unless of course someone says something unflattering to his (Druff's) heritage or family.
About the most Druff ever does is what he calls cleaning up a thread, maybe removing some of the most vile comments and attacks, but not until after they have been posted and sitting there for 2-3 weeks.
And this guy here...this coach belly. Has never added a damn thing to any forum he has been on. And every forum that he is on, the owner or administrator makes it a point to publicly label him a troll.
What we need fellas.. is a VCT meetup.
Not everyone wants to engage with the hassle and stress of dealing with nonsense from you or Singer or mickey. I don't blame them. You play the Socratic gotcha game while offering actual information about once a year. Singer makes shit up, then gets offended when he's revealed as fraud and then lies about people. Mickey goes off on weird homo-erotic rants. Why would anyone want to directly deal with that? It's stressful to some people, especially if they're not completely anonymous like you. It's easy to be a ballsy loudmouth when you're anonymous.
I do it because I've always done this debunking stuff. I feel a responsibility to do it. If not me, who? Witteles should be doing it. Shackleford should be doing it. I'm okay with people coming to me to post stuff they found.
And really, coach, if you're implying that what I said is a claim as opposed to the truth regarding the 2014 clip, we both know I'm telling the truth. Or you'd be on some anonymous loudmouth roll about betting me that nobody contacted me. We both know you'd lose that bet, so don't pretend.
I mean, really, get a backbone.
P.S. I don't think I'm giving anything away by saying that the person who directed me to that 2014 post by Dan Druff is a skilled video poker player with significant Las Vegas experience, much more knowledgeable than me regarding video poker. Not everyone wants to state the facts and get into nonsensical back-and-forths with maroons.
Coach Belly might be the genuine worst. Rob, Kewlj, Tasha .. they all have their place. This guy is just a total 1 trick pony who does absolutely nothing but annoy.
Coach is the nut low of the forum world ....RIP
No clue what you're even referring to about nervousness and posting here, freak.
I come here to some degree for the truth although it has fell apart and there is rarely any useful stuff posted here. I have been helped out in private a couple of times.
What I do know is that finding the truth does not involve wasting the time to read your posts.
You're not smart.
You're not piercing anything.
You contribute nothing.
You're just a dumbass.
PS - Yes, no one is forcing me to read this forum. This is also why I typically don't read your posts. You seemed missing for some time. You weren't missed by anyone.
Todd is arbiter. He knows his way around the internet. He decides if someone sent me the suggestion to tip Positive off to the 2014 post. Coach never sees the message unless it's redacted. Let me know when Todd has the money.
Of all the dumbass ways to finance a Las Vegas trip. I work my ass off, and then this. LOL.
Your anonymous suggestions mean shit to me, coach. You said I was lying. You escrow the money. Have at it. I don't do the bob-and-weave. Set it up. Let me know when Todd has the money.
No negotiation. Because if you don't do it, I'll just post the thing (redacted, of course) to demonstrate what an ass you are.
Let me know when Todd has the money.
There won't be any more comment from me, coach. Let me know when Todd has the money. You can either lose money and be an ass. Or don't make the bet and be an ass, because I'll post it anyway.
Your choice. At least if you make the bet, you demonstrate some backbone.
Seedvalue is the current front runner for VCT ROTY. If PV posts here with regularity he will most likely end up the winner at the end of the year. His posts are of high quality over at PFA. Someone should invite Bedwetterbetter and Elmo over here. Two comedic PFA All-Stars !
Bedwetterbetter posted some stuff at WoV about Chrissy Mitchell a couple years ago and Wiz kind of shut him and others down. He did offer Chrissy a chance to come to WoV and explain his claims. The thread died after that and instead of being the juggernaut Chrissy’s thread is at PFA, the Wiz destroyed it. Along with the opportunity to get quality new members to a dying forum.
Another great moment in Wizards history on how to destroy a once vibrant forum.
bellyfish (n): A spineless denizen of the waters off the Jersey shore, the faceless bellyfish is a strong swimmer with, however, no ability to steer itself. Essentially eyeless, the bellyfish cannot see obvious probability and therefore fails to grasp probability with its long flailing tentacles, which it waves brightly in all directions for no evident reasons. The bellyfish is therefore poor at video poker, poker, and most forms of gambling, ergo the poker specific epithet fish (specific epithet being the second of two Latin names). Unlike vertebrate fish, which steer themselves, the bellyfish is at the mercy of gambling currents. Although unable to guide itself in any meaningful way, it spends its time explaining to the vertebrates how their swimming is off by several centimeters in this direction or that. Dependent on the largesse of gambling chance for sustenance, the bellyfish is born larger than its adult version as its bankroll shrinks over time. Despite its loud colors and long tentacles, the spineless, faceless bellyfish, like most bullies, is harmless to vertebrates.
My very own meek-will-inherit post, to go with Red's Mathew 5: 5 one. The ghost-post that I threw up, a couple of days ago, about Max letting on that his being 6 feet 2 inches was supposed to be some sort of accomplishment - to go with another fad, diet.
And, next, to add on to the "silliness" of the Redietz post above. I just knew that his would reach an epic proportion soon enough about "fish". With excruciatingly old man, the Boz, either, never failing to peg the "numbers".
Yes, with the more average among us inheriting the Earth on a daily basis.Quote:
Better to eat crappy while growing up so that you end up shorter. Same as crappy food for thought, maybe, or, you'll end up like Redietz, spewing all manner of baloney about himself at 65.Quote:
Findings based on millions of deaths suggest that shorter, smaller bodies have lower death rates and fewer diet-related chronic diseases, especially past middle age. Shorter people also appear to have longer average lifespans.
Gotta "love" 7's with 2's (the invertible form of 7 as ᘔ), given especially with 6's with 9's. Which brings things back to day-183, in non-leap years, at 2 July at 7/2, with 69 = 1*69^1 ---> 1961. [Yeah, gotta keep such quotation marks, and, brackets, before commas, and periods.]
But a day-183 that involves a date of 6/9? Maybe with June 30 written as 6/√90 ---> 6/99. Hmm. A great work around for the leap-year centers of July 1, or 2. Shift a day from the latter part of the year to February, to even it out a bit, and, have the leap-day in the latter part. Something like this for years like like 1271, or 1721, centered by the day of 6/9, analogous to 7/2 in 1961, or 1691.
Disclaimer: No perennial forum-rookie suckers-of-year, such as Mr. Table ("Thank you, Monet!") Pooey, were harmed in the making of this post. Ha.
And, thank you all, again. Interesting idea, Monet, about it being more about the truth than justice. Something to reflect on.

Spending all your time debunking everything that comes down the pike means you don't have a life and you've got to much spare time on your hands.
And Ditz, my rants would best be described as homophobic, not homo-erotic. For homo-eroticism I refer you to your buttbuddy, maxpen, who writes about nine inch dick practically everyday.
Because in 2003 at the age of 17 right before his 18th birthday he was sharing an apartment in Florida with a 38 year old married man who had two kids. The birth of his scam the real way me makes a living. In due time I will connect the dots for you. It’s all there in his post over the years it his way of confession. Guy is dangerous you will see
You are posting this nonsense in two threads. I'll address it once, here. I don't know if you are making up this story (it's a fun read I guess) or are actually looking into someone, but it you are looking into someone it is not me. Not a single date, age, location are correct. :D
In 2003, I was not 17. I had graduated high school several years before that and was living in Philadelphia, not Florida. My partner who was in his early 40's in 2003, never lived in Florida (that I am aware of). He is from Philadelphia. And he was divorced sometime in the late 90's before I met him, before I even moved to Philadelphia.
But please continue with your story. It is fun reading. Would actually be good cover for me, if it wasn't so damn ridiculous.
While you are connecting the dots of whomever you are looking at or making up, connect these dots for me.
How does sharing experiences from a blackjack career for almost 20 years, help this male prostitute in the story attract clients? And why are several entries of this male prostitute in the databases? Is OSN now tracking male prostitutes? :D
But again, keep going, I know I am dying to see how this comes out.
I am trying to think....was it Singer or Blackhole that claimed I work at In & Out Burger (or was it Smash Burger). Moses said I don't even live in Las Vegas. Mdawg hired someone to investigate and proved I did live in Las Vegas and posted the address. This dude has me as a male prostitute, I guess just because I am openly gay and that is where these homophobe types immediately go. :D
Like I said, these claims all actually benefit me as they muddy the water, although the male prostitute one, being so retarded, probably doesn't help me much.
Yawn....
Still waiting for conclusive proof Rob didn't hit the jackpot.
Let's see....
max said he saw the pic at Caesar's but that blew up in his face.
The pic can't be found anywhere on the internet. Why was Rob so confident it wouldn't be found?
No one here is an expert on "cash or prop cash in a pic?" I never even heard of it until Boz posted about it.
Dowloading the pic from phone to computer, then taking pic of the jackpot with a different phone, explains cursors in the pic.
The Inspector Clouseau's of VCT have a lot of work to do.
PS: Only assclowns challenge someone to a bet then demand they escrow first.
Rob just told me the pic on the computer was taken on his son's phone then posted on VCT. Rob sent me this pic which he says is the original.
He also sent me this pic which he says was taken while the credits were racking up:
Gosh Mickeycrimm... allow me to point out the obvious about those photos.
I can't find a blue line. I can't find cursors. And it's a full shot of 3s without the tops cut off.
I wonder how he did that?
Don't forget boy wonder said he saw a jackpot photo online. Did someone say YouTube? A company owned by Google?
Rob is trashing Dan Druff from a different forum, even before Druff has rendered his opinion, because Rob knows what it will be, should Druff ever get around to it.
So having been so thoroughly debunked and exposed by PositiveVariance, Rob has left the forum vowing never to return, never to post or even read again. But it is obvious Rob is still reading because he is now attempting to continue his scam through his proxy, mickeycrimm, telling mickey just what to say. :(
Mickey has become Rob's puppet. I don't know if Rob is working him by working the strings or has his hand up mickey's ass working him that way, but it is definitely a case of Rob says "jump" and mickey asks "how high" on his way up.
