Rob was never planning to meet me -- or at least he wasn't once it became clear that I would be directing the verification process.
Here was my post yesterday at around noon, giving both my terms AND the warning that I wouldn't be available to communicate again until 7pm.
Quote:
You can text me at (775) 372-8355. I could probably dig up your number but I don't feel like it.
I will agree to the following:
1) I will keep all details confidential. I will not reveal the name of the casino or any other info which hasn't been made public yet. I will, of course, state my opinion as to whether or not the jackpot was real (and yours), and give my reason why.
2) I will need to be able to verify this in my own way, which I won't disclose beforehand. If the plan is to approach Joe the Casino Host and ask, "Did Rob really hit a $1.5 million UX jackpot last month?", that's not going to do it for me. I'm very well aware that you know a lot of people in Vegas, so I can't simply take someone's word that you hit it.
3) You will agree beforehand that you will cooperate in allowing me to verify this. Again, I will need to be the one directing the verification process, not you.
4) You will need to send me photographic proof that you're currently in Vegas before I go anywhere. I will specify at the time what proof you need to give (it will be a picture you text me, taken on the spot).
I won't be available to talk or text prior to 7pm today. However, feel free to text me at the above number, and I will get back to you around 7, if you're serious about this.
Notice the bolded part at the end. It was very clear to Rob (who posted after the above, so he clearly read it) that I was unavailable to talk or text until 7, but I was interested in meeting during his specified 7-11pm timeframe.
I texted Rob at 7:02pm. He did not respond until 8:51pm, and of course blamed the whole thing on me. In the next post, I will show all of the text messages, so you can see how ridiculous this whole thing is.
