You also missed the #1 cause of death of Black Youth in America. The ever dangerous “Turning their life around”. Every obituary of a 18-30 yo black shot contains the line from a family member “He was turning his life around when he was killed”. Obviously along with “no one saw nuffin”. Also in the Top 5 is the “He was going to back to school”, “He was going to be there for his son” and “he was going to get a job”. Note they never did, but were planning the changes. It’s clear just talking about these life changes is fatal in many cases.

The obvious takeaway is to continue to live the Thug life and not consider leaving it is the proper decision.

One thing I find interesting is that the traditional view that white men enslaved the Africans but they were already mostly enslaved AFAIK. Americans just traded them with the Africans. (At least according to AI ;) ) Regardless - the ones who made it to America were not as quality as the ones who didn't. You do bring up a good point about slavery being used to demonize white people. All different races have owned slaves. It’s not solely a white issue.

Also at the peak of Slavery only around 1% of Americans owned slaves.

It was a much higher percentage in the South but still the vast majority of Southerners did not own slaves

How many kids do you know who enjoy having no internet these days?

Having internet during a power outage makes it more tolerable, especially if you've previously charged your devices (or have portable chargers), and just have connectivity. I also have a microcell device so I get a good signal on my cell phone during the outage.

This requires a power block to work. When it dies. I need to use my car to recharge it. Unfortunately I overdid it and drained my battery, so I had to jump it and then drive for 1-2 hours to restore the car battery. Oops.

Anyway, I have an outage again now, so this really sucks. I got a whopping 2.5 days with power before today's outage.
