I guess I didn't make my racist, classist post clear enough: what I meant was that it would be interesting to be a slave owner in a world where that was the norm.
Of course I realize we don't have slavery in the USA anymore; but if we did, I'd rather wield the whip than feel its lash.
I feel sorry for black folk in the USA, they've gotten a raw deal having been enslaved for centuries and then being "freed" to try to live in a society where they're basically not encouraged to succeed and thrive by the majority.

One thing I find interesting is that the traditional view that white men enslaved the Africans but they were already mostly enslaved AFAIK. Americans just traded them with the Africans. (At least according to AI ;) ) Regardless - the ones who made it to America were not as quality as the ones who didn't. Some brutal truths not really told but even myself who is left on the dial somewhere feels these things should be taught alongside any white man blame. Also I wish we could just send back anyone who was complaining about their horrible situation in America. Ok, here's 100k now go back to Africa where the white man will not hold you down and you're back on equal footing. 100k is probably at least 5 years wages. The opportunity.
I feel this stuff should be taught alongside evil white man history. It just needs to be known.
How the slaves were treated is a completely different subject and I'm sure many white men had some inexcusable approaches to their management.
I still find misterv tedious and sad and look at my own levels of racism? I'd be completely shunned in most liberal circles.
