To be fair though the 1980s were very important in terms of where the world is today.

The 1980s saw the climax of the cold war, and the beginning of the digital revolution.

And these are just 2 small things off of a long list.

So I wouldn’t be so quick to write off the 1980s as irrelevant.

The 1970s? Maybe as they were more of a transitional time and not as important as the 1980s although still consequential.

I still feel Redietz vs Kewl to be the greatest forum matchup on here. Mdawg lost his charm years ago when he became a bot. He was funny when he took on half the board but he's a droid. Singer lost whatever little he had and uses the same style of rehashed insults. Such an uncreative bore. (But hey, he just pulled over in the mountains and it taking his time out for us!! <eyeroll>)

Funny thing is - I'd be ok with meeting anyone on this forum except the guys on here that put a lot of effort into showing their legitimate gamblers on the forum.

Except Mdawg - this guy fascinates me. What is behind the curtain running that thing?

I'd like to see a picture of Kewl out of curiousity. Redietz and Singer I do not trust at all. The handful of other people left would be pretty funny to meetup with.

There are few finer humans to spend time with in the world outside of old grizzled gamblers who have lived a life. I mean.. at least in small portions. ha!

Well, see, this is the issue with the kewlJ. He lies incessantly. I just reviewed the blog entries for 2023 and 2024, and literally none of the entries other than a review of OJ Simpson's legacy when he died, had anything to do with anything that wasn't current. In other words, zippo had to do with anything that didn't occur in 2024 or 2025. There weren't even any references (other than the OJ review) to non-current events.

I guess I suggest people check out the 2024 and 2025 blog entries for themselves.

But wait, let's review the 2023 entries while I'm at it. Okay, out of the 21 2023 entries, three have some reference to long-ago events. One is a reference to my short non-fiction being published in the 2022 book "Driving Southern," which is about coming-of-age stories involving first automobiles. The second is "LIV and Super Bowl III," which draws the parallels between the LIV tour hatred and the AFL/NFL rivalry. Eventually, and rather quickly, mergers ensued in both after one tried to paint the other as devil incarnate. The third was an homage to the LV Advisor's Jean Scott, who retired and whose husband had died. Jean has been writing about gambling in Las Vegas for 40 years or thereabouts.

So let's tally it up. The last three years, there were a total of three blog entries about anything not completely current out of 32 entries.

If my math is correct, and AP's can check me on this, this tally would seemingly put the lie to kewlj's partly capitalized statement in the post above that "EVERYTHING Bob Deitz (sic) writes about whether here on this forum or in his public 'diary/journal' are things that happened 35-40 years ago."

Perhaps the kewlJ's math is just bad. You know, 35 articles, three tangential references to past events, perhaps in his AP's math, that adds up to a capitalized "EVERYTHING."

Or maybe the dude just lies...and lies...and lies...and lies some more.

It's pretty funny. Now how is the kewlJ going to explain the slight disparity in his AP (Associated Press) reporting and reality? I suspect he will...wait for it...he'll LIE. LOL.

One thing about Kewl is he has 0 attachment to the truth. He will gladly make up his versions of what other people have said. It is very clear that the truth has no value to him. I've encountered this numerous times with going back and forth with him.

On the other hand I feel you're quite honest in that regard. Oh well tell us when your Rio story drops now that we've done the research to find the URL.

I don't read Dietz diary. I think I might have taken a look ONCE several years ago to see what it was about. I would rather have root canal than read this not wit's diary. :rolleyes:

But what was referenced about the diary, by redietz himself, was his account of the Rio soft opening. Um....1990!!

Add to that all his nonsense about the 1980's sports betting contest, and I can only conclude there is nothing of any value coming from reditez, for an AP in 2025.

Basically, I have come to view such people doing what Redeitz does, focusing on and talking about the past....the way distant past...as "has-beens". But in Deitz's case I don't think he ever was close to what he claimed or claims. That makes him a "never was".

And he is not alone on this forum. The person who posts as Rob Singer is similarly a "never was". Not a has been....a never was! And the person that posts a Mdawg is just your typical losing gambler. A dude with some money that likes to gamble and gets comped for it. Not a damn thing special abut that dude, except he has some family money he can blow. That makes him a "never was" as far as what he claims.

I like reading accounts from real advantage players. Mickeycrimm, Axelwolf, Zenking, Druff, a few others that I may not even be aware of your "credentials". Anything that might benefit a player TODAY, or even just historical accounts of REAL advantage play. But I am just tired of the "never was" crowd.

I was thinking the same thing. I was into casinos because you get nice hotel rooms for so cheap all over. I basically broke even on AP stuff.

However at some point you kinda grow tired of it, yanno? Like.. gambling ain't all that unless you legit have a screw loose.

I give up, what would the brilliant kewlj estimate is the actual readership? LOL. Whatever it is sans bots, it's both read more and believed (much more) than anything the kewlJ has to say. I've had X feed back-and-forths with Chris Cuomo and Michael Shermer, not to mention South Point's Jimmy Vaccaro, who just retired after 50 years of bookmaking. Mr. Vaccaro was kind enough, when Alan Mendelson questioned my claim of getting checks and cheques for futures wagers, to verify old school practices. So I'm sure tagging my blog address in those back-and-forths provided some of the source of the readership.

I love the kewlJ. Where else can you find somebody who was offered a book contract (he turned it down, of course), who was offered guest spots on various gambling podcasts, and who was on the very edge of hangin' at the Blackjack Ball? It was only his spartan discipline and aversion to glory that prevented this famed soul from appearing in prime time with his own book.

An active advantage professional player has to be careful. And especially a card counter type AP. So easy to say something on a podcast or live interview that you regret. Something that can be identifying and damaging. I do ENOUGH of that on forums. But at least on forums, I have at least a limited amount of time to go back and delete something, I instantly know was a mistake. You don't have that on podcasts and interviews. :rolleyes:

Now I know some guys (card counters), quite a few actually have done GWAE with Munchkin. You will have to ask them if they ever said anything damaging that in hindsight they wish they hadn't. I know in just listening to a few of them they said some things that I immediately though "Oh boy, he shouldn't have said that".

Munchkin asked me way back on Norm's forum to be on GWAE. I was on that forum from 2011- 2014, so I am taking 12 years ago or so. I declined not only because I didn't want to say something I would almost immediately regret, but because I knew there would be questions I would not answer. And I didn't think it would be fair to Munchkin or listeners to be unwilling to answer probably a fair number of questions.

There is a time to safely do that kind of thing, at the end of your career or at least towards the end. I don't think it is advisable for an active player. And I am STILL an active player and plan on being so for the foreseeable future.

Now this Bob Deitz, claims to have been a sports bettor all these years. I don't know how it works or worked for a real professional sports bettor working Vegas (as opposed to the online book) all those years. Maybe there isn't the same kind of 'Danger, Danger, Will Robinson' associated with exposing yourself on a live interview or podcast. But then again we now know Deitz was never a real professional sports bettor. :D How much danger is there for a "tout" or former "tout" doing such an interview? Probably less danger from the casino industry and more danger of just exposing himself further as NOT what he claimed all these years.

There are different kinds of trolls on these (especially this) forums MrV. There are some that it is just kind of a game, kind of humorous, kind of fun. And then especially on gambling forums, there are a few (lifelong) losing type gamblers, that really wanted, tried and wish they were winning players. And they are pretty bitter and angry about and with real advantage players that find and do things at an advantage and win (longterm). And some of the worst and nastiest trolls fall into that later category. Redietz and Singer among them.

Mdawg? Who even knows what that freaks story REALLY is....but it most definitely isn't a long-term winning player making millions from casinos. THAT we know. His obsessive trolling and stalking says there is something really fucked up with him.

Round and round the Dietz merry-go-round we go.

It has now been YEARS, not months. If Dietz really wanted to do one of these interviews he would have by now. Dan Druff, who expressed an interest in interviewing Deitz is a little scatterbrained. He tends to lose interest in things when he has other things going on. So Dietz had an out there. But if Dietz REALLY wanted to be interviewed by Druff, he would have contacted him repeatedly until Druff got around to it. He didn't do that.

In the case of Munchkin, we have mickeycrimm relaying that Munchkin said Dietz turned it down. Dietz says he didn't. I guess it is up to each of us to decide who is more credible mickeycrimm and Munchkin, or Bob Dietz "the Tout" (a line of work that has an adherently dishonest ring about it).

For me, it all changed when Axelwolf expressed a desire to be involved and question Dietz. Prior to that, I think Dietz he could bluff his way through a Dan Druff interview and Munchkin has a history of not really challenging his guests to much. BUT Axelwolf, a knowledgeable AP questioning Dietz wasn't going to go favorably.

So now we get the merry-go-round.
