Will the Las Vegas Strip Open Soon

Also for me personally, 1-2 other players is about my sweet spot. While there are advantages to playing heads up, like speed of game and number of rounds IF the count grows strong, there is also the situation of aggressive exits (which I employ) drawing attention. If you are the only one playing and you exit aggressively after relatively few hands played because the count goes bad, the game will stop completely upon your exit, and create an awkward moment, which does gets noticed. If there is at least one other player the games goes on.

I don't like more than about 2 other players because then the game slows to a crawl and it will mean relatively few rounds to the shuffle, so just about the time the count becomes advantageous, the dealer is shuffling. So 1-2 other players is my sweet spot. Now THAT is going to be mandatory. :cool:

On the down side for me personally, I presume tables will be spread out a bit more, which would make attempting to track a second table more difficult. And even if I could still do that, with such limited seating probably can't jump to that second table with a better count / opportunity, so that technique is probably out for now. :(

Maybe there will be extra tables open because of the limited seating per table or maybe it will just be the old sucky over-crowded conditions that I left back east when I moved to Vegas. We'll just see what happens.

GSR in Reno sent an email out they are taking reservations starting Friday the 22nd. Certainly sounds like these casinos believe they will be permitted to over for Memorial Day weekend.

I thought casinos had to submit re-opening plans to the NGC at least 7 days prior to opening their doors, and only after the Governor orders them that they can do that? I guess there's still time, but that's highly aggressive for GSR. Phase 1 just started.

Restaurants (no bars) can open in Nv. starting today if they adhere to certain restrictions. We got two notices of this from places in N. Nevada yesterday.

Regarding the poker table: That's f****** ridiculous, there's like zero chance it isn't going to spread like wildfire at that table alone. I assume everyone's using the same filthy chips and sharing the same f****** cards? They don't look like they're 6 feet away to me. What do they do when one guy sits out and another guy wants to sit in? Are they going over there and wiping it down and sanitizing it? Yeah, I seen people washing tables in restaurant with the same old filthy rag barely giving it a once-over and some highly diluted spray crap, it's like they're just moving the bacteria and germs around and spreading it across the table. Las Vegas casinos opening by Memorial day weekend (10 days) seems to be slipping away. Technically there is still time as the Nevada gaming commission new rules for re-opening, state a plan must be submitted at least 7 days prior to planned re-opening. But Yesterday, Venetian announced their re-opening plans were for June, and today MGM followed, saying they planned on a June opening.

Not Vegas and certainly a different customer base, but this is encouraging that people are willing to visit casinos.

The problem with talking about advantage play on these sites is many people get upset when you discuss specific plays.

The word is casinos are going to try to open if not by end of May, then early June. Casinos have been closed for 2 months and now they are laying off people just before re-opening? I guess with these 50% occupancy rules, they may be realizing they will need a lot fewer workers and probably for a long time to come. I don't know. :confused:

Seems like the new opening date for Las Vegas casinos is June 1. That is now when multiple properties are taking reservations for. Several of them have pushed back this date a couple times already. Stations casinos submitted their re-opening plan for approval today. Plans must be submitted at least 1 week before proposed reopening.

The possibility that the casinos have no actual intention of opening in June (or whenever given the governmental green light) and are merely testing the waters by accepting reservations is probably greater than the chance that Rob was just messing with everyone by deliberately posting pictures of an RV he doesn't own - but both of these are conspiracy theories and it's far more likely that the way things appear - that the casinos want to open, and that Rob was hoping to dupe people and got caught - is the way they really are.

Hawaii has made it clear they don’t want or need tourist dollars. I do hope long term there is some repercussions from tourists, though I know it’s wishful thinking. But I do hope there is no Federal Bailout for these states.

In the late nineties/early 2000's they had the best poker room with the best dealer in town. I'm sure they all moved on to poker room jobs on the strip.

Word is out this evening that some employees of various casinos in Vegaa are getting phone calls. They are prepping to reopen soon.

Some think June 1st possibly. We'll see.

Nevada casinos have been given a tentative date of June 4th

I know they're not actually in Vegas but they're close enough. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods are opening June 1st.

So as radicalwin posted, we now have a tentative or target opening date for Casinos here in Vegas of June 4. We knew we were getting close as most properties were taking reservations beginning June 1. Also 2 days ago I received my June offers (online) from one downtown casino. Kind of strange that they picked the 4th instead of the 1st, but whatever.

So I don't know if anyone notice, but yesterday or today the CDC changed it's position on how this virus spreads. They have changed their position more than Rob Singer changes his claims, so it is hard to keep up, but they are now saying the virus don't spread by touching surfaces, like they have been saying all along.

This is real good news for casinos, because that idea of sanitizing chips, dices, cards, slot machines every few minutes was never going to work. That just wasn't practical. Anyway, we will see how it goes.

There are rumors all over the internet that Sisolak and Gavin Newsom are vacationing this weekend in Montana. The 14 day quarantine for out of state travelers doesn't expire until June 1. I wouldn't put it past those two bozos to break the quarantine here. Rank has it's privileges, right.

That news conference was cancelled because he came in contact with someone who tested positive. I mean what the hell, you have the entire industry...basically the only industry in Nevada waiting on this announcement? Just because the Gov was in the same room with someone that later tested positive....what the hell? Shouldn't the announcement one way or the other still happen? They have to announce at least 7 days prior to opening.

That all sounds miserable from a customer perspective. And totally not profitable from a casino's perspective.
This shit needs to be figured out quickly. Nothing is coming back unless the tradeshow and conventions come back. Not sure why none of these people are talking about that. There's so many businesses claiming that they are going to fold unless SEMA goes off in November. If it doesn't happen this valley is going to get brutal savage REKT.
Open the casinos because there's a long way to go from that point.

Californians should be some of the last allowed in.
