Alan, the Vegas casinos are not the only casinos in the world. Theres not that many in Vegas compared to the rest of the country. Did you know that just Oklahoma has 148 casinos? And they have the two largest casinos in the world, Winstar and Choctaw Durant.

I have a friend that holed up in Colorado last football season because of these type of plays available in the sportbooks. I didn't question him on the specifics but he's an experienced sportsbettor that does occasional interviews on VSIN. If someone like him holed up in Colorado above all other locations then it must have been good.

Rejection of individual advantage players is one thing. Rejection of advantage play principles is another.

I guess you are not familiar with the journalistic principle of nullification.

If there is a group of people, APs for example that claim to make money by playing when the odds are in their favor, but you hear from some other random person somewhere else on the internet claims that seem unreasonable, You can then tie that random person into the main group to “nullify” any and all claims as nonsense no matter how reasonable or logical they seem to be.

You can also misrepresent other person claims to strengthen your argument IE $25 coin in vs. $25 cost.

It was big in the past. Casinos got hip they were being worked and cut back on freeplay. Over the years the casinos have been hammered by every angle. They learn and make corrections.

I didn't want to get into this but I rarely play dice.
I played it a lot more with my pal who was a dice junky and an alcoholic.
So we are playing drunken dice at the Silverton one night and Mr. S puts 35 dollars hopping the hard ten.
I say you're crazy, so he ups the bet to 100 smackers.
I say if you can do that stupid shit so can I.
He cracked the 55 and we both got paid to the boxman's disgust.
That boxman literally was pissed right the fuck off.
So we both left up the hop bet and he Fucking threw it again.

Oh and Mr. S has run up his money on dice like no other that I know of.
We're talking 500 to 6 figures on more than one occasion.

The only problem with him is he has never been able to hold on to the money for very long.

The only issue I have and it really doesn't matter but I find it odd that Caesars Palace never promoted it.

I have always stayed out of this 18 yo conflict, but here's one a little more believable but still way out there. There was a little guy I used to see every day at craps. I observed that he always seemed to roll a lot of 4's. So I started looking for him and one day when he got the dice I bought the 4 for $500. He rolled 4 9 out of the 14 throws during that roll. I made a decent lick.

The next 2 times he rolled I bought the 4 for 1,000 and he immediately 7ed out. But 9 of 14 on a 4 to me was way out there. Nowhere near 18 yos though.

When I moved to Vegas four years ago I didnt know where I wanted to live. So I rented.

A year ago I moved and rented an apartment near Janet so I could take care of her.

For the past year I've been staying in hotels in Salt Lake City and keeping my apartment in LV so that I can help Janet here with her leukemia treatments.

What does any of this matter?

Alan or anyone else claims they saw 18 y.o.'s in a row or any other highly unusual, highly unlikely gambling result. Whether they did or didn't how does it change my life? or any one else's? The only thing that makes this fun is that if such an event occurred, there surely would have been some reference to it. And there is not. But again, what does any of it matter?

Now on to Alan's latest claim of interviewing presidents, and kings and queens. Again, what does it matter? Who is Alan trying to impress and why? This is a gambling forum. Who cares about whether Alan interviewed presidents, kings and queens in his role as a reporter. Does that make any thing else he says more credible? Are we now to believe the 18 y.o. in a row because Alan may or may not have interviewed a President?

What if Pete Rose was a member of this forum? And he claims to have won playing the number 14 (his baseball number) for 14 consecutive spins at roulette? I doubt any one would believe that claim, but would the fact that Mr. Rose was baseball's all time hit leader, make him more credible? I think not.

So who cares? I doesn't change anything in my life. BTW, it didn't happen. :cool:

Yeah, I have to agree with Alan. LOL. Is this how people decide what's real? They type a couple words into google and believe that's "research?" What the flying fuck? Are the younger generations really this narcissistic, lazy, and stupid?

You can tell none of the youngsters knows what journalism's about or how to do basic research. I pity the youngsters in academia. They must think that no studies were done before 1995 or something like that.

It's so naive, it's unbelievable. There's this narcissism to it. If typing a couple words yields no results, the "researcher" thinks he's done due diligence. The theory is that everybody wants to be on YouTube, so if googling yields nothing, it must not exist.

The accompanying consequence is that, since everyone can google, everyone's an expert. On everything. LOL. The person doing the googling is not the center of the universe. Google is not God.

And Alan did the interviews. So the fact that he did the interviews completely debunks this particular way of evaluating what's real.

There's also this lazy component to it. When someone says, "I googled it and found nothing," do they really mean they googled and read 500 pages of results and found nothing, or do they mean they googled two or three pages and found nothing?

This way of evaluating the world is just so lazy and childish. Hint: if you want to know something about somebody, google, then make some phone calls. Take notes. Do follow-ups. Send emails. Cross-reference different experts or witnesses. There's some brilliant out-of-the-box ideas, eh?

I keep overestimating posters' intelligence. I keep overestimating the degree to which posters want to get things right as opposed to spouting whatever they feel like saying.

It blows my mind that someone says "I googled and found nothing," which is asinine in itself to write that, which I will get to in a minute. But to assume you have somehow cornered the market on reality by typing a couple of words speaks to a laziness of thought I just cannot comprehend. It's like dealing with children. I want to know this now and I need to square away what I think or feel about this in two minutes or less. The sheer laziness is incomprehensible to me.

And that line about "I googled this and..." is a throwaway line. It says nothing. If you're going to report about what you googled, at least be decent enough to say "I googled and searched x number of pages with y listings on each page." Nothing you do via google is some kind of exhaustive search unless you use multiple combinations of words and literally search each combination to the end of the listings, which nobody ever does or can do. So instead of saying I googled this and found nothing," the person reporting should explain how many listings he read. Was it 10 or 20 or 500? Did he spend ten minutes or an hour or a day doing the research?

It's disingenuous to say, "I googled something and found nothing" without stating how much you actually read. If people were to report how much they actually read every time they write, "I googled...." it would put an entirely different spin on their credibility or lack thereof.

To take a line from blackjack counters, "Every use of google is a partial use of google."

The rest haven't been to, haven't seen, and haven't experienced much more than comped buffets, a colorful collection of slot club cards, or gridlocked LV street traffic. And that's exactly why 18 yo's--an extremely unlikely event included within a life-lived collection of other similarly very unlikely events--is constantly mocked here. And this....from a group who worships at the altar of mathematical possibilities.

Let the entertainment keep coming. It'll help keep your mind busy as you navigate another nearly impossible event: watching the suffering of a person very special to you.

Bob Dancer says playing UX gave him his only losing year. And you know he always plays with a theoretical edge. I think it was 2015.

Some notes about Salt Lake City. As opposed to Vegas and LA there are very few homeless visible here. Make no mistake there are homeless people. But you see very few tents in parking lots and on sidewalks.

I did see one group of four tents in a commercial area near a Sam's Town and other big box stores. But when I passed by I saw two official looking types with badges and clipboards talking to the men there. It appeared to be social workers.

But I have to add this is a boring city. Everything seems to close at 7pm.

No gambling here. But I'm sure you knew that. But there are billboards for Nevada casinos, and we found that unusual for an area that is so opposed to gambling.

I have just over 7000 posts on this forum in 6 years. I look at that number and it seems high and am a little embarrassed at first. Divide it out and it comes to between 3 and 4 posts a day. That doesn't seem outrageous. I have always wanted to share some of my experiences and journey. Starting to want to do so less these days.

But I just find it extremely "rich" that this forums leading poster with over 18,000 posts is lecturing us all on having no life and posting too much. And big surprise the furum's second leading poster closing in on 10,000 posts, Rob Singer is backing him up. :D Classic definition of hypocrites.
