No, I haven't given up on him, and when he is ready, I am open to the idea as long as others I work with are comfortable with the situation. If something interesting comes up and I think everyone can benefit, I will give him a ring. And he is always welcome to hang out with me/us and just to chill or whatever.
He has always been respectful and mostly a cool guy in person.
He knows my number and he knows how to use PM's.
In every trade and profession there are very smart people who have no business being in that trade or profession
There are doctors with great book knowledge that may not have common sense, no bedside manner, no ability to have an "edit button" as they speak to people. And no other doctor wants to be associated with him.her.
So what if ZK has a bunch of knowledge. People say he doesnt have the temperament. And thats important in a trade that requires people handle periods of losses. He handles losses poorly often with a tinge of paranoia. Heck if he thinks the casinos are conspiring against him, he would definately think if he was in a team..that others were doing the same. Its in his DNA...that how he thinks. Thats his zebra stripes.....they aint changin.
Add to that he is super naive and doesnt have an "edit button" on his brain as he posts and doesnt realize how much of a nut he appears to be.
Instead of encouraging this type of person to continue to be an AP........why not do him a big favor and explain that his knowledge is only 50 percent or less of what is needed in the long term.
KJ talks about he himself not having great detailed math knowledge, but he has a method that he sticks too and has figured out a way to make it work. I believe that he does. However he seems to have the temperament at the tables and when he goes home at night to handle the ups and downs. He may whine like a baby on who gets to post on websites......but as far as his trade he doesnt whine at all. He doesnt seem paranoid of the casinos, he doesnt act like a naive kid
ZK seems to lack the basics needed to succeed at AP. Thats not my opinion. I gleen that from KJ and Axel talking about the negatives of ZK as if those negatives will some how dissolve away.
If it were the opposite, I would say...yeah he could use help. If he had the temperament, the savvyness , the maturity, and the foundation of a good knowledgeable mind........then its possible to fill in the missing piece.
But if he is a mental genius on the topic....but is a ticking timebomb in all other aspects........I dont see what a lunch or a few phone calls can do to help the guy. I think people would do him a big favor if they just told him he isnt cut out for it as he is now. Some things you just cant change
ZenKing is not going to listen to anyone. If anyone tries to help him he is skeptical of their motives. That right there tells me all I need to know. Let him figure shit out on his own. Interesting development over at Wizard's house (WoV) today. So Bojack's exit, leaves no Blackjack Hall of Fame members that I am aware of.....unless someone deep under cover?
Just further prove of something I have been saying for a while, and said yet again just yesterday. WoV gets further and further away from what it was and what it was supposed to be everyday. It really is now just a social forum, that has very little to do with advantage play or Gambling. Well if Mrbo was bojack from other forums (and a different handle at Qfit's forum) he is a BJ Hall of Fame member and a pretty big one at that...very successful BJ career. He was using the MIT call in approach long before the books and movie "21" came out, which made that approach too well known. Bojack didn't invent the "bigplayer" call in approach (neither did the MIT team). Yeah, I pretty much don't know shit. However, that doesn't stop me from expressing myself from time to time. Those numbers were pretty accurate awhile back and now they are different. I am just a normal dude with a pretty normal past. Adult life started out in the military, went to school, got a job, started and ran a business on the a East Coast after growing up on the West Coast. Sold the business and decided to move back west about 4 years ago and landed a job managing a company out here after being in Vegas for a few days. Sort of just happened as I wasn't really looking for that as I planned to pursue advantage play. AP wise before what I do now was predominantly blackjack related. Bojack doesn't play green to light black stakes....at least that I know of. He was a higher stakes player, or at least used to be. He was a multi millionaire. Owner and flew his own plane. I really have no idea now. Perhaps he is semi-retired or something and plays lower stakes than in his prime. Or perhaps like a lot of the good old boys from yesteryear, he can't play games at the stakes he used to.
So I just looked at the blackjack info site. Wanted to pull up some old posts and post a link. Unable to do so. There is a search feature where you can search by member. I typed in Bojack and got nothing despite that he was a frequent and probably the best poster on that site. So then I checked myself....again the search feature said no record found. I then checked Munchkin, QFIT and Shadroch (billryan)....no records found. Must have something to do with the site changing owners. Blackjackinfo is now owned by LatestCasinoBonuses, the same organization that owns WoV. Perhaps you could check with them and find out why their search feature isn't working.Quote:

The only other possibility is Qfit's site. When blackjackinfo closed in 2011, most of the membership went to Qfit's site. Eastside Cannery was in my blackjack rotation for a few years. IIRC I had some discussions about Eastside Cannery with MaxPen about 5 years ago, specifically their treatment of an older blind blackjack player (non-card counter), who Eastside Cannery was ripping off. But that's another matter.
So Eastside Cannery was in my blackjack rotation for about 3 years I guess. Being a smaller place, it was one of those places I had to tone my spread and top bet down a little bit. But they had a game that was worth it. Double deck game, with ASM, dealt face up (like El Cortez). Penetration was all over the place, ranging from a non-playable (for me) 55% up to very profitable 80%. Very dealer dependent. If was a hand held game, so there was no shoe or "notch" in shoe for a standard penetration.
So for a couple years, I played as much as I could at a small casino like that. That would be 3-4 short sessions per week, different times, but even that was tricky because this particular game was only open from 11am until 7pm or so. So I didn't have 3 shifts to spread out my play.
So anyway for about 2 years, great results, in my top 3-4 casinos as far as individual results and relatively no heat. And then all of the sudden something changed and I believe they began cheating. (I know this puts me in the ZenKing conspiracy theory class). But I am going to tell the story.
One day, pit guy "Morris" comes over to the ASM as soon as I sit down and punches in some numbers. This ASM had a small keypad (numbers only) and small display screen....just enough to read a line or two of text.
So after Morris punched in the code, I began losing. I lost big that day. Losing most of my bigger bets, and the ones I didn't lose I pushed, usually with 20. So I didn't think much of it. I have lots of days like that. So over the next 6 months or so, I began to notice that I was not doing too well at Eastside at this usually very good (for me) game. I wasn't in the red, but just about even. In analyzing my results, I notice many small wins, offset by a handful of bigger losses. I also began to have this feeling that whenever Morris came over and punched in a code on the machine, I usually suffered one of those pretty big losing days. Morris was the only pit person who ever came over and punched in a code.
Looking back, it took me far longer to figure this out that it should have. Basically, I had a mindset that in this day and age or corporate casino ownership, casino's don't cheat. Just too much risk, plus they don't need to. BUT, once I figured this pattern out, the results were undeniable. On the day's Morris was working and punched in a code to the ASM, I lost and usually lost big. And I even saw the pattern of how. I lost most of my big bets because even though the count was high, meaning a surplus of 10's & Aces, still more small cards came out. And then all of the sudden once a shoe, for a several rounds all 10's came out. I would push several max bet hands with the dealer. For a long time, I would think "well here come the 10's just like they are supposed to". Again, it probably took me far longer to realize, the 10's were clumped together where they couldn't hurt the dealer, regardless of number of players or cut. Just several rounds of pushing 20's.....and then the rest of the rounds were played with a depletion of 10's...huge house advantage.
So one time when Morris came over and punched the code in, I asked what that was about. He responded with some BS line about a system diagnostic check. So, I replied that every time he did this system check, I lose. I think I even said that I push a few hands with 20 and lose the rest. I wanted him to know, that I suspected foul play. He probably thought to himself, "took you long enough". lol That was the last day I played BJ at Eastside Cannery and that was at least 2, maybe 3 years ago.
Now Eastside Cannery, remained in my partners video poker play rotation, because the had good mailers (like most of Vegas, they have gotten crappier lately). So I did still frequent Eastside Cannery, just no BJ. So, if you have some information that Bojack hangs out there, yes, maybe I have seen him, but I am sure not at the BJ tables. I don't play BJ there and there is nothing for any blackjack player card counter there, so I don't know why Bojack would be there, unless he happened to live near there and that was his local casino for something else....some other reason. And really there aren't many nicer communities near Eastside Cannery that I can think of. Maybe a couple newer gated communities up Boulder Highway a bit towards Sunset....that's about all I can think of.
So I will ask again, why would you think this person hangs out there? what do you know that I don't?

Come to think of it...there have been about 3-4 members at WoV, since I left that have seemed to have the sole purpose of posting negatively about me (even after I was gone). SidtheSquid comes to mind and a couple others. And there is something all these guys had in common, references from the old blackjackinfo forum (same as Mrbo).
I guess that is proof that time doesn't heal all wounds. It's been going on 8 years since that forum closed.
Add on: I was just looking at Mrbo's posts and just noticed something very interesting. MrBo's very first post at WoV was in a thread entitled "contact KewlJ". The thread was started by this poster sidthesquid who I just mentioned. Sid was requesting from the WoV, if anyone had a picture or any personal information, address, phone number on me.

3) The fact that he simply makes things up and baldly lies about events and people because it serves his purposes and it's fun (for him).
4) He attracts people who respect and defend him, and these folks contribute to the voodoo and magnify the personal attacks when others point out the voodoo.
The negative list almost completely shatters whatever value he has because only a reader who has a serious degree of experience (like me or mickey or Axel and so on) can get an inkling of what's true and what's false. He glommed onto Mr. Mendelson early on and used that as a crutch to boost the faltering voodoo storyline. It's really a shame. He winds up mucking entire forums with his bitterness.

There are a couple of other things about WoV. Calling the suspension list the "Wall of Shame" is not a good public relations ploy. Then there was the Bovada software fiasco where Shackleford didn't do anything to make whole those that got shafted. And of course, the Wizard of Nothing fiasco where his site facilitated people getting burned. Mike did not give a rats ass about those that got burned and ended any discussion of it.

I simply am not going to ,let you guys that support Mike, distort what occurred.
And secondly, that second part of Mike's announcement of my banning is also wrong. Mike thinks I violated his privacy by posting something he told me (at this other forum that WoV normally doesn't consider), but I did no such thing. The information I posted was told to me by two other moderators, BBB and a second one I have not yet revealed, as it isn't my intent to get anyone in trouble. It just so happens that information was very similar to what Mike had told me. It was similar because it was the truth.
To be specific here is what I am talking about. Mike told me QFIT contacted him numerous times demanding that he take action. BBB and another mod both told me QFIT contacted Mike 19 times within 24 hours demanding that he ban me. So I posted that QFIT had contacted mike 19 times demanding that he ban me.
Do you see what I am saying. I didn't post "numerous times" or use the words "take action", which is what Mike told me. I posted "19 times in 24 hours" and used the words "ban me" which is what BBB and another mod told me. It just so happens what I posted is similar....why?....because it is basically the truth.
What it really boils down to is Mike told me one thing (confirmed by BBB and a second moderator) and Mike told the WOV membership something different, because he just wasn't man enough to stand up to QFIT who was bullying him. And when I publicly posted that Mike was being dishonest and telling two different stories (cover-up), he became enraged with me. All because he wasn't man enough to do what he should have done, told QFIT to mind his own business (and forum).

Yes, QFIT set you up, he played you like a fiddle; I get that.
But even you must concede that your comments were inappropriate, and that consequences of some sort would not be unexpected.
