A few days ago while looking for something else, I went back and was reading some of this very forum from before I joined. 2013, 2014. I guess Alan owned the forum then, but the Singer bullcrap was exactly the same. He was posting pictures that no one beleived, making claims that no one beleived. At times Alan, who for the most part has been a Singer enabler, even requested documentation to go along with the pictures and of course there was none, just the very same excuses. And this was 2013! I wish there was a forum, like WoV used to be 6-8 years ago, or the blackjack forum where I started, where players could just share their experiences, good, bad, winning losing, and maybe share some info and even more info privately, when need be. Forums provide easy access to anyone with an axe to grind, a story to share, or in Rob's case a fantasy to pursue.

I've always intended to do that (I held onto some of these for years), but never really had the time to write chunks of copy to get one started. Plus once you start up a forum, you are at the behest of the server to make sure there is no scamming or child porn or ultra-foul language and all that, or they can toss you off. I actually started writing some copy a few weeks back for "anchor articles" for a site. I'm not sure how I'd handle a forum, however. On one hand, I think if you don't provide your real name to the forum host, regardless of whether you post under a handle, then the forum owner lacks control. I'm really not into people playing at being expert who aren't expert, or people whose posts are 50% wise ass comments relating to nothing about gambling or Socratic crap that contributes nothing except making people re-edit their original posts five times so they don't make minor mistakes.
Obviously, I don't want to make any money. The site would be non-monetized. But I would like to provide some semi-serious meeting place for multi-interest gamblers who have some experience or expertise. I'd have zero patience with things like the MaxPen/mickey exchanges or Alan pretending he doesn't know rules of journalism. Those are two different kinds of trolling, but they are still trolling, I think. I don't even know what trolling is, honestly. The MaxPen/mickey stuff is a waste of broadband. Alan pretending he thinks one thing when he knows something else is just lying that's beneath his history. So I guess rather than labeling this stuff trolling, I'd label what's wrong with it specifically. I have no issues being the expert who makes the calls on content, since I am an expert who should make the calls on content. I'm not some anonymous pretend cowboy. But my actual expert gambling knowledge is narrow, so I'm going to sound like Genghis Khan when I shut people down regarding topics I know very little about. Like would I debate MDawg regarding baccarat? No, I'd just shut down nonsensical claims that defy math.
I listened to a podcast last night previewing the authors' book, Calling Bullshit: The Art of Skepticism in a Data-Driven World. I really liked what they had to say about using a "black box" flow chart to evaluate claims when you aren't expert in the math of the claims. It makes sense to me and is very practical. They are doing a rebroadcast tonight at skepticalinquirer.org. If you get a chance, listen to the podcast and tell me what you think.

I listened to a podcast last night previewing the authors' book, Calling Bullshit: The Art of Skepticism in a Data-Driven World. I really liked what they had to say about using a "black box" flow chart to evaluate claims when you aren't expert in the math of the claims. It makes sense to me and is very practical. They are doing a rebroadcast tonight at skepticalinquirer.org. If you get a chance, listen to the podcast and tell me what you think.

The last time I got a $20k handpay for a $5 royal at Red Rock I got two $10k packs. I dont know what the correct term is, so I use pack.
One pack consisted of circulated bills. The other pack was new currency and came in a wrapper from the Federal Reserve bank of San Francisco.
I thought that was curious for several reasons.
1. Vegas does not have it's own branch of the Feb but cities like LA and Miami do.
2. How did the new packs get to Vegas? Flight or armored car?
3. Why would Vegas even have to import money?

You never did! It always played out the same way. Some kind of bet or monetary challenge and then you start changing the terms, until you find terms you know the other party will not agree to.
