Boz, I hope you are kidding with this "I can prove" comment. But just in case you aren't, let me explain, no one need prove or explain any kind of win over a trip or any short-term period. That happens all the time, both players winning playing -Ev and players playing +EV and losing. That is gambling and variance. :rolleyes:

I realize not everyone cares, but for me the problem occurs when someone claims winning over the long term playing -EV with no explanation. Mdog claims winning almost every day for 16 months playing -EV with no explanation other than "betting into streaks" and a large bankroll somehow enables a player to over come -EV and win. :confused:

Singer, well his claims have been all over the place and change frequently. At one time he claimed 10 years, over a million dollars of winning, playing -EV video poker, not playing 100+ % games, not even using a players card for that added EV, just using a progression system and some "special" less optimal plays and I guess machines telling him when they are hot or cold. :D Now when Singer stole the DU bug claim, he shortened this period from 10 years to 4 years, which he is still claiming (even repeating it today).

So years of winning -EV with no explanation, other than voodoo nonsense (Singer) or winning nearly every day for 16 months, with no explanation of how you overcome -EV are the things that have become pet peeves to me. Not someone winning over a trip or two or three. THAT happens regularly.

Nope, I am not.

I can show we played at a positive number in Vegas in 2021 on one trip. And yes, regardless of what I played in positive EV games my wife played regular slots. But we put a lot through and I can prove we made money because of a few good hits.

Of course it’s luck to be an overall winner and we could argue the numbers on what I played versus what she played versus the comps we received.

And of course I won’t argue it’s not a winning strategy overall.

But we are invited to multiple huge events. Until of course we don’t meet casino expectations.

But yea, I can prove anything I put out there.

So I was reading the latest chapter of the Mdog fiction - fantasy adventure over at WoV. If you remember Mdog abruptly ended his latest Vegas trip because two different AP, were in the process of negotiating a challenge to his claims and his challenge stated "for as long as this trip lasts, so he abruptly ended the trip. So now barely a week later, he has received multiple offers for thousands of dollars to return to Las Vegas.

Now a couple things about this. For most of us, it takes a month or more for offers to be generated. I suppose for higher end players that process can be expedited. Any of you higher end players want to weigh in?

Second thing is that for table game players, especially blackjack which is half of Mdogs play now, Vegas almost totally did away with anything as far as offers, years ago or at the very least dramatically cut offers for table game players. Again, I suppose that may be different for higher end players losing regularly.

Which brings me to this point. This Mdog person has now posted of half dozen trips since he emerged at WoV under this handle. Each and every one of those trips a huge winning trip and nearly every day a winning day. So Las Vegas casinos just can't wait to get this perpetual winning player back to Vegas with all kinds of high end offers. So I ask you all is that the way it works? :confused:

Is the way it really works is that they can't wait to entice a perpetual LOSING player, a whale or mini whale with a long history of being a LOSING player back?

I've always felt that MDawg was trying to do one of two things, or both:

1) Convince his family and friends that he was a winning player as a rationale for his staying in LV so many times for such lengths of time. Giving his addiction a cover story to keep family and friends okay with his choice of location and avocation. I have no problem with someone doing this, as long as they don't take it to the fictional extremes of MDawg.

2) Since he's doing #1, he may as well dip his toe into the book/movie waters with tales of gambling expertise and derring-do, in case he can sell the story as at least partially real and entertaining. Since it's clear that many gambling movies don't have a clue about the actual gambling, MDawg figures that if he writes it, some nitwits might believe it.

The problem with assembling all this bullshit with Shackleford's assistance is that it's nonsense fiction, bearing no relationship to reality. MDawg is doing casinos' work for them -- dangling some carrot in front of anybody reading his posts.

I’m going to “defend” MDawg somewhat here. What? Has Boz lost it? Maybe, but not on this one.

The casino you believe he plays the most at Cosmo is one that I also have decent history at and can explain how their system has worked in my case. And I have no reason to believe this isn’t standard operating procedure.

I get an offer for X in Free Play and X in Resort Credit for usually a 6-8 week period, say August 11th to October 3rd. If I utilize that offer at any point, within a week after the trip I get a new offer starting immediately for another 6-8 weeks and at a level higher or lower based on my play compared to previous trips. Of all the casinos I have ever dealt with, Cosmo is most on top of quickly updating offers. And they don’t do set monthly mailers like Caesars does.

So I would absolutely believe him when he says he has a return offer already. But part 2 is also what I have said all along, he or anyone that is consistently taking them trip after trip for hundreds of thousands of dollars, won’t be welcomed back with open arms. Even casinos understand when someone is “too good” for them to allow to play at their property.

I do wonder how things will change with MGM taking over. By the way, in Vegas I have little experience with their resorts so I don’t know how fast they update offers after a visit. Or what changes we will see at Cosmo.

I'm kidding. It is absolutely fine, that's why I asked people to weigh in. I suspected that because I am not a high rolling, losing player, there may be special expedited turn around for these people.

That really isn't the issue I am concerned about. During his time posting as Mdog, (he posted under a previous handle banned at Wov before that) this person claimed 6 trips to Las Vegas I believe, including several really long one lasting 6 months or more. Each and every one of those trips a huge winning trip, with almost every day a winning day. And prior to those trips he told us that he had been a winning player for 20 years.

That is really the basis of my question or challenge. THAT is what isn't the way Las Vegas works, comping these kinds of players, on top of what would be millions in winnings. I maintain that there is one thing missing for this to work exactly as Mdog claims and that is the losing. He is only telling us of the winning. He is leaving out all the losing that makes all the comps possible and is the way Las Vegas works.

I am not interested in comps and don't play rated, so my experience with Cosmo is on the surveillance end. Surveillance wise, they are top notch and have been since they came into existence. They utilize the latest equipment and technology. I have no doubt they are equally aggressive with marketing to the top LOSING players.

I don't think any of us (certainly not me) doubt that Mdog is a higher end player and as such receives higher end comps. It is just a shame (and sham) that he is leaving out all the losing involved to get that. And I don't know why. If he thinks it is worth it to lose xxxx to get xx comps he should just be honest about it. It would be a look inside high end play that most of us will never experience.

Redeitz, I can't try to figure out why these people do what they do. I don't even want to get into that. :rolleyes: But I guess the fact is these kind of BSers now turn up on every gambling forum. I guess that is ok, as long as the self policing that has always taken place is allowed to take place. And I would prefer forum owners be a big part of that policing and calling out these guys. BUT forum owners are in conflict because this BS does bring traffic to their forum.

On this forum Dan Druff has occasionally weighed in saying Singers claim are BS. And while I would have preferred more, it is fine. There has been enough pushback and challenging from real players and members, that anyone coming to this forum and seeing these claims, could decide for themselves who was telling the truth, the guy making outrageous claims, or the 6, 8, 10 people pushing back saying "no that is not the way it works".

And at WoV, there has always been adequate pushback or self policing, including pushback from Shackleford. Things changed when Shackleford did not allow adequate pushback and self policing, with this claim. Instead he suspended, I don't know a total of 10-12 people, AP's, real players and just regular members that said no I don't believe these claims because that is not the way it works. People were suspended for simply expressing that they did not believe these claims. Hell, I was suspended for using the word "fiction". And that has now led to years of this guy being protected and continuing his BS claims. It has also led to half dozen or so AP's and real players exiting WoV. That was the breaking point. THAT is when Shackleford became Benedict Shackleford, betraying AP's, real players and the math, likely because he was paid off.

Actually, coach would have to bring this up with Dan Druff. Dan said via PM he'd verify that the person who contacted me was real and had been the one who pinned down who said what when. I also told Dan I didn't want to take a couple grand off coach for no reason (not that hard up for money), so that if Dan could verify things, great.

All this time, I assumed Dan verified the reality that someone had contacted me, and Dan then privately told coach that he was wrong. And here I was, being a cool cat and not rubbing coach's nose in it.

I assume Dan never did the verification and contacted you, coach?

I have to add this. Four hours elapsed between my saying you couldn't find much of anything regarding what mickey crimm direct quoted me as saying and coach posting the above, which has nothing to do with what mickey posted. I would speculate that dear coach probably spent a good chunk of time trying to match up posts of mine with what mickey quoted me as saying. And whiffed. And whiffed. And whiffed. So his response was to post the above.

Anyway, of course I have the email from the person who told me to use the link to old Dan Druff posts regarding Rob. If coach wants to see it, all he has to do is head for LV Aug 8 -12, and I'll show him in person.

Or he can wait until I feel like posting it, which could be today, next month, or next year. I said I'd post it, not when I'd post it. You'd think coach would have the hang of this Socratic method stuff by now.
