I didn't think Gay Christians could exist either but it is a thing.
They even have a whole church around the notion.
Mindboggling to me.
What is mindboggling to me is the people who call themselves Christian that are so full of hate for anyone different than themselves. A good portion of biblical writings is up to interpretation. And most people don't even interpret it for themselves. They rely on so called religious leaders to tell them. For Catholics a small group of men in the Vatican, for other religions various other religious leaders, many of them Jerry Falwell types who have enriched themselves at the expense of those that they lead (or mislead). Even under the most liberal interpretation, I don't see anything that says to hate those different than you, including race, religion, gender and yes sexual orientation. The God I know and talk to everyday has never told me that.
I attended a few of the Dignity church services (that is the gay catholic services) back when I lived in Philadelphia. I didn't care for that either. They bend interpretations to their likings just as extreme as the people like you do Monet. I don't need anyone to tell me what was meant by different passages.
Wars have been and continue to be fought over religion. I just have a really hard time believing that God is telling anyone to kill those that pray to a different god or in a different manner. These people better take a closer look at their God. They might find a guy with a red face, horns and a tail masquerading underneath.
Here is another mindboggling thing to me. Most of you religious conservatives call yourself pro-life. But only when it is convenient. You raise hell about abortions, but in the same breath think the death penalty is ok. You justify it because you say someone has committed a crime. Man doesn't have the right to make that decision, only God does.
And in the last week or so, with these open America back up protests, I see the same thing with a different twist. Some of these same people that at other rally's would be holding pro-life signs, are saying things like
"only the very old are in danger, why should we all shut down to protect them?" I guess that is pro-life, except when it is not convenient to be pro-life.
I am a fiscal conservative. That means on financial issues, I am a conservative. I am for smaller government and paying down the debt. The republicans
used to be for these things, but even before the fiscal nightmare of the last 2 months, republicans long ago gave up on that charade. They spend just as much as democrats, only difference is they spend on things that benefit their the rich which is their base, while everything the Dems do is geared toward the poor (their base). And in all cases, the lawmakers in charge take their skim off the top, lining their own pockets. So there is no difference in these parties any more.
