The Bakken Oil Field of western North Dakota and Eastern Montana was already way down on production. The oil is very deep and the subterrean rocky. Oil prices have to be high for it to be profitable.

Yeah, I've been spending time on the internet reading various articles about the impact of coronavirus on oil prices and fracking. You probably know most of this stuff, but I'm still posting one link I found interesting for those that think this is interesting.

The good thing about this MDawg thread is that it's kind of a catch all thread. Anything goes, stocks, fracking, you name it. I think the only thing that is off limits in this thread is the Tasha nonsense.

That's 1/3.

That was interesting. As high as +50 and as low as -10 in the AH. Waiting on the 3pm PST NFLX conference call.

NFLX ended flat, but I believe it will run again, at least at some point, tomorrow.


My host at Wynn sent me an email asking if I wanted to "opt in" to text updates for everything that is and will be going on, at Wynn. They will be routing his office phone number to handle incoming and outgoing texts as well as his cell phone.

I declined to opt in. I don't need to get ten texts a month about all the great things going on at Wynn, and all the offers they have for us VIPs. If we decide to go, maybe at that point will opt in just for the duration of that trip.

Just goes to show that they are really thinking that they'll have to catch our ear to get us there during this mess. I actually don't see us going anytime soon.

Sold the extra TSLA that I bought yesterday, for 708 today, so that worked out fine too.

Now waiting on TSLA earnings after the bell, probably just with my long term shares in hand.

NFLX dropped today, although they killed estimates, guidance was weak, apparently.

MDawg, I’m sure you’ve seen Jim Cramer is saying now is the time to buy Tesla before their earnings report. I wouldn’t touch it here. It made more sense a month ago when it was under 400.

My target on TSLA is over a thousand.

But I probably won't buy any more shares to hold into earnings, as I already have many very long term TSLA shares I've been holding.

You're right though TSLA reports 4/29. AMZN reports tomorrow.

MDawg - you seem to be a week off. I show AMZN reporting Thur. the 30th A.H. along with AAPL.

Next week there should be lots of fireworks AH with Goog, FB, TSLA, MSFT, QCOM, AMZN, & AAPL reporting, to name a few.

Both of them changed then. TSLA was reporting today, and AMZN was reporting tomorrow:

but these dates are "estimated" and the further back you calendar them, the more chance they might change.

In any case, thanks! to both of you for the corrections. My trading strategy would have been altered had I continued to think that earnings were today and tomorrow.

Even with being down a few at the moment, TSLA is up some forty points from where you said you wouldn't touch it.

I bought more shares long at 717 on the dip this morning, just to hold for the day.

The point is it's not about setting arbitrary prices, but about, as Jesse Livermore used to say over and over, "buying when the price is right." I see so many posts on stock trading forums about how "I'll buy AMZN when it drops back to 1300," "I'll buy AAPL when it drops back to 220." All those guys are still standing around with their hands in their pockets.

onenickelmiracle is suspended now at WOV, but one of his last posts was about his shorting WYNN at 70 and change yesterday. I remember shaking my head when I read that. It's 76 and change now. If he panic covers today, he'll lose again on yet another short.

Okay now TSLA is up some fifty points from where you said you wouldn't touch it. ;)

I will probably sell the 717 bought extra shares shortly, 737 would be nice if it gets there, but if not, anywhere close.

Sold the @717 trading sh of TSLA at a ten point profit as it started to drop.

Ironic that GILD is dropping now that their coronavirus treatment didn't pan out, and onenickelmiracle lost out on a GILD short that he did a little while back.

Yeah, that’s pretty impressive! I was just looking at Tesla this morning and figured you’d probably comment on it.

You definitely called this one right. It’s too late for me to jump on it now though.

On the other hand over at WOV onenickelmiracle must not be feeling too goood about that WYNN is now over 80 when he shorted it at 70. But, as Boz mentioned, onenickel is just going to have to learn things the hard way.

I did a couple of AMZN trades today that went fine for extra shares. I got it at 2010 on the second dip but I let go of it too soon.

Just did another one AMZN 2400 to 2402. But let's see if it flies up and proves that I sold myself short on this trade. Most likely yes, but given that it dropped to 2397 it's hard not to just take the sure quick profit.

AMZN 2391 to 2394. I was really going to put in 2395 to make it a clean 10K for the day, but I went for the 3 pts. on this one.
