Because the statement you made above is not an accurate description of what he posted.

So Mdawg talks in THAT voice in the W/L video, wears flamboyant shirts, and his biggest defender Belly is always trying to meet up with dudes. Ummm, okay.

KewlJ, it's like trying to describe what chocolate tastes like to someone who has never seen it - if you haven't played Baccarat for any serious length of time, and I mean years not just a few hours a couple of weekends, how would you know if the game is beatable or not, other than by spouting theory?

I count cards when I play BJ but I clock the casinos for large sums when I do it that may not be explained with just counting. Dana White doesn't count courts and he beats the hell out of the casinos at BJ for more, and faster, than any count counter probably could. Don Johnson did negotiate a per "session" trip loss rebate that made his play positive house edge but he never lost in the first place on his best sessions and won quickly, millions, in continuous sessions (one trip) where the loss rebate never even came into play.

Look, it is just to be expected that some here will post stupid nonsense when confronted with someone who is actually doing it, but for almost all of these guys, it stems from jealousy, not math. Unfortunate. Or as Grump would put it, Sad. :D

He's never claimed to play baccarat at an advantage...he's explained how he won.

His posts are trip reports, with some examples of winning shoes and how he played them, and general strategies.

He posted many photos of hand-by-hand results for baccarat shoes that he claimed to have played. Would it have been unlikely for him to win, playing those shoes in the manner that he explained?

Some of the stuff I am reading here...such as players who think that a win/loss statement on table games is reported to the government, that it is 20 million to 1 that I could have won in casinos over the past two years, players second guessing hosts when they have obviously never had a high level one, or how many hands MDawg might have played when he has posted images of millions in paid markers and played in Vegas over a hundred days in 2019, and over a month in 2020, already...I'll cut it off there and be polite.

I did get banned from BJ for a couple years, but at the same time, my playing above board and becoming friends with the same Director of Table Games who banned me resulted in my eventually getting reinstated for BJ play. As well, at my level of play, it's hard to convince a pit boss you found the money in a taxi cab - meaning that it's just very hard to do anonymously. And finally, part of the reason I switched to Baccarat from BJ (although I still do play some BJ too, at certain tables in Vegas) was to be able to keep flying high and still get comp'ed. They can't hold it against you that you won on what is viewed as a game of chance (versus BJ, which is viewed as a game of skill).

I am not doing this for a living. But if I lost at it, I would not do it at all.

Question: at the Pepp you were excluded from events and so on because you had a host and flew above the radar. But if you had been under the radar and unknown you would not have been invited anyway?

No, I was not invited to anything. This is what happened at the Pepp in 2002. My friend, Al, also an AP, called me and told me they had put in $1 Full Pay Deuces Wild Video Poker, a 100.76% game. Not anything spectacular to write home about, worth about $35 an hour to a skilled player. There was no cashback on the card but the meal comp was pretty good for locals. And the drawings were good. They added somewhat to the expectation on the play. It was the drawings that pulled AP's into the Pepp. You got tickets based on action.

So I show up and play for a few hours. I went to the booth to get a meal comp. The boothling said I was assigned a casino host and what time would I be available to meet him. I said about 5 PM would be okay. At the Pepp $1 players and higher were assigned hosts whether they wanted one or not. I went and ate, played a couple more hours, blew the meeting with the host off, and went home.

The next day I go in and hit a royal. I go get a comp. The boothling said I didn't meet my host the day before and gave me another appointment. After eating I went back and played another couple hours, blew the host off and went home.

The 3rd day I go in and I'm playing. My buddy, Al, is two machines down from me. A casino host walks up to him and says "Al, I have to disqualify you from all drawings and special event." Al said "What for?" The host said "C'mon, Al, you know you're a pro. I'll leave your meal comp alone, FOR NOW! Now, I have to find this Crimm guy and and tell him the same thing." I was sitting there with my back turned to the host hearing every word of it. Al said "I'll tell him for you." The host walked off.

So I was assigned a casino host I never met. He disqualifed me from drawings and special events before he even met me. I could've kept playing but without the drawings there was better stuff around.

I personally think the hosts were trained to identify AP's and used the newly installed deuces to sniff us out.

You know MDawg you are making a huge mistake with how you make presentations of your trip reports. Either way it does not matter if you have real skills that you are keeping to yourself and not writing about, something that no one would blame you for, or, are just a flat out trend bettor who actually believes in all of that. You are in fact presenting yourself as a trend bettor and if that is not anywhere near the truth, shame on you for doing this without disclosing something, as apparently you have quite the following and could hurt people financially. As far as MickeyCrimm and the others like him Coach, they're pulling in MAYBE minimum wage. Consider that they research their plays all day long, then have to drive all the way to the casino, then spend hours pushing buttons on some low end gaming machine the rest of the day, (bored out of their minds), probably put in five to seven hundred hours a year towards their grind. Deduct the fifty to seventy five cents a mile driving travel cost, and that they often have to pay for their own rooms and food, and they are making less per hour than some guy flipping burgers, if they are coming out ahead at all.

Compare with me - I don't gamble for a living. We go to Vegas when we want, usually around a couple months total a year, stay in first class suites, everything comp'ed including often the spa as well, and I don't even play every day and when I do play it's average a few hours a session one session per day only and it's FUN exciting play not pushing a boring button until I get carpal tunnel syndrome. And in the meantime and also when we are not in Vegas, whatever else I do goes on, including intangible and tangible real world investments, my businesses and my actual profession. Per hour at the tables I'm bringing in average four or five hundred dollars an hour, and being PAID by the casinos to do it, comp wise.

What I will give them is that they are self-employed doing what they want to do, but it's a just a grind for them it's not making much for them relative to the time, travel and expenses put in.

I remember on one of my really high rolling trips years ago when I ended up having over 400K wired home, after I had been at the Baccarat tables almost two weeks and I was starting to say things like "Winning less than twenty five thousand a day, I mean that's NOWHERE." - a pit boss asked me, "Don't you work?" (Actually back then I wasn't a lawyer yet, but I was head of a company just was able to work remotely.) and this Chinese million dollar line high roller I know stepped in and answered for me, saying, "He's winning $25,000. a day tax free. That is good money. I wouldn't work either!"

And that's the thing about gambling, when you HAVE to do it, it rarely ends up profitable or worth your time.

Assuming someone on here actually has handled high denomination chips and knows something about this, do RFIDs actually exist in casino chips these days and if so, are they actually used for anything? When I have handed my chips at the cage, including $25,000. ones I have never seen them put the chip in any kind of magnetic or otherwise looking device to check anything.

On one of the other forums someone was pointing out that he thought that casinos used RFID to track your win loss and so he was surprised that they missed the two yellow chips I won on the two sessions in my Feb/March 2020 trip.

As far as the chips, the $5000. and higher Baccarat chips at the Wynn/Encore have a serial number on them. (I couldn't find a pic of Wynn chips from my recent play, but I do post some pics of other chips below.) But - what this serial number is good for, I couldn't tell you. Whether the Wynn really knows who has what exact $5K chip at any given moment, is unclear.

There is no serial number on the $5000. or even $25,000 Baccarat chips at the Cosmopolitan, and at the Palms, I haven't handled a $25K Baccarat chip but their $5K Baccarat chips not only have no serial number but even come across as rather phony - flimsy in weight, and unimpressive in coloring.

Same with Treasure Island $5K chips, no special marking, no serial numbers.

As far as RFID or serial number tracing, a friend of mine says that he had two $5000. WYNN chips and some other property stolen from his room at another resort last year. He filed a report with the hotel and he was led to believe that the Wynn was going to trace them from his casino tableside win to show that they were never cashed and to reimburse him, but when push came to shove the Wynn casino did not help him or reimburse him and all he got back was a statutorily capped $1500. payout from the resort where he was staying at's hotel insurance carrier ($750. for the chips stolen, and $750. for his personal property stolen). This leads me to believe that RFID is not as much a factor in casinos as one would think.

Also, whenever I am playing, the pit bosses seem to be very fanatical about keeping track of my bigger bets and entering them into their screens, and also pretty strict about recording exactly how many chips I walk from the table with, which makes me wonder how they missed the two yellow chip wins, but also convinces me that that bet tracking is done visually not via any RFID. Whenever I make a huge bet after I am done with the afterglow of winning it, I start crowing at the pit boss to remind him to be sure to enter that huge bet into their system. It's more of a ritualized comedy routine than anything else - I bet a huge stack of yellows, I win, and then I start joking about making sure they log the bet, or make some joke about how I want a "discount" on the commission "for this bet only" if I won on the Bank. Another joke I love tossing out there is when I haven't opened my sixth card yet on a situation where the opposing side has already hit to zero. "I'll take five hundred to walk!" I quip, referring to how much I'll take on a discounted basis if the casino will just pay me now to not even look at my cards, versus opening, winning, and getting paid my full bet. In all my years of play, only one pit boss, years ago, has picked up on it - declaring, "I'll give you five hundred to walk!" after the other side had hit to zero on a thousand dollar bet of mine, and before I had a chance to look at my draw or even say a word. The guy must have been standing there the whole shoe, waiting for his chance to toss my own line back at me.

Consider that they research their plays all day long, then have to drive all the way to the casino, then spend hours pushing buttons on some low end gaming machine the rest of the day, (bored out of their minds), probably put in five to seven hundred hours a year towards their grind. Deduct the fifty to seventy five cents a mile driving travel cost, and that they often have to pay for their own rooms and food, and they are making less per hour than some guy flipping burgers, if they are coming out ahead at all.

Compare with me - I don't gamble for a living. We go to Vegas when we want, usually around a couple months total a year, stay in first class suites, everything comp'ed including often the spa as well, and I don't even play every day and when I do play it's average a few hours a session one session per day only and it's FUN exciting play not pushing a boring button until I get carpal tunnel syndrome. And in the meantime and also when we are not in Vegas, whatever else I do goes on, including intangible and tangible real world investments, my businesses and my actual profession. What I will give them is that they are self-employed doing what they want to do, but it's a just a grind for them it's not making much for them relative to the time, travel and expenses put in.

That is good money. I wouldn't work either!"

Until my health related retirement I was in the $70 an hour overall range with about $140 an hour seattime. As you can see barely above minimum wage.

Social Security can only be received by an individual (or family member) who contributed to the system. A spouse or divorced individual (who has not remarried) can collect on the individual who contributed to the system.

There are federal employees who receive pensions and are not eligible for Social Security as they have not contributed. They are eligible for spousal benefits if the spouse contributed to the system.

If there are no family members contributing to the system then there are no benefits to anyone in the family.

Since my wife and I now receive SS I'll explain it better. I also worked for the Federal Gov't. for 10 years so I'm familiar with that system too.

There's regular SS that is paid out to those who've worked in the private sector. There's also something called SSSI (SS supplemental income) which I believe goes to lower end SS recipients to help them out. These are the welfare-type slugs. People who don't put into the system are not eligible for any type of SS.

For federal employees (and I believe city, state and county workers although I'm not 100% sure for these groups) they do not deduct the SS tax from your pay check. You are required to put into the Gov't. retirement system, so that when you retire your pension comes from that. In other words, I get a pension and SS because I worked at a private Aerospace firm, but I also get a Gov't. pension because I put in ten years there too. It's really the same type of thing for both.

Finally, I want to thank all you working stiffs for paying for our income with your SS deductions that you'll never see as an income benefit for yourselves. In fact, it'd be nice if you went out and got 2nd jobs so you can contribute even more to the cause.

Homes, (usually more than one) fancy cars and trucks for the whole family, feeding and raising a healthy family with good foods and health insurance for all, assorted trips to Disney Land and the like, great educations for all, (college, etc.) along with the endless expenses associated with any kind of a family life. Let alone making sure to include a safe and secure nest egg for you and your spouse and hopefully something for your children when the door slams shut.

Now, when a person with a real source of income (not gambling) comes around and starts to flash his success all over the place, reading the endless envious, jealous losers posts pile on is pure entertainment. You could picture the horns growing out of their heads and watching them go to the tool shed and pulling out their pitch-forks.

Instead of wishing MDawg future luck with his gambling and his career to be able to afford such entertainment at such a fun level, all they want to do is condemn him and hope in the future to get a picture of him living in a cardboard box. Why??? Simply because he financially can and don’t give a shit about the math. People with real money are not idiots, and have the ability to draw lines when necessary. I would be out from the time the casinos open, 8 AM until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. At one point my average earn was about $550 a day. Half the time I'm scouting for plays and half the time I'm in the seat spinning the play off. That's about $140 an hour seat time but about $70 an hour overall if you look at the whole time investment.

Good question.

No that wasn't at the moment of color up, as I recall. But it was somewhere close to the color up moment - close to the moment when I paid off the marker and wound up about 11 grand ahead, for that particular session (and yes, I did include the ten bucks in the check that particular session, even when the cashier asked me if I just wanted to cash the ten I said no, include it in the check, "for luck.").

The fives are typically for the cocktail waitress. Every time I cash out a win I take one of the C notes and convert it to all fives, which I use for tips at the table for the cocktail waitress when I don't have any red in front of me. I don't drink - it's green tea and still or sparkling waters all the way.

As far as the dealers, I do not just hand them chips, including at the end of the session. I place bets for them alongside mine, starting with red, then green then if I'm really rolling, blacks. I have bet as much as purples alongside my bets for dealers in the past. The fives are typically for the cocktail waitress. Every time I cash out a win I take one of the C notes and convert it to all fives, which I use for tips at the table for the cocktail waitress when I don't have any red in front of me. I don't drink - it's green tea and still or sparkling waters all the way.

I went to work at a very young age. At the age of 16 I sailed out of the Port of New Orleans with a job in the engine room. After that I went home, Forest, Mississippi, and worked for a cousin in his Welding/Machine Shop for a few years. I was a welder/fitter.

I went to Alaska in 1974 and started out as a janitor in the Juneau Airport. Jobs were hard to come by. Then I went to work as an office worker for the State of Alaska. In the early 80's I sold cars, furniture, mobile homes. By mid 80's I was bartending. In your neck of the woods I bartended at the Oasis in Anchorage in 85/86. It was on East Tudor Road just past Old Seward Highway. I wanted to bartend to meet the chicks as I was new single. Bartenders have an excuse to walk up to any girl in the joint and ask them what they want. It's a great ice breaker. I've also bartended in Juneau, Fairbanks, and Nenana

By the mid eighties I figured out that me being in a bar is like putting a bull in a china closet. I went to work in Fishing and Mining. I worked out of all the glory holes in Alaska, Valdez, Kodiak, Naknek, Dutch Harrbor. I spent the summer of 1989 high up in the Alaska Range working a placer mine.

I learned to work day labor when I was between jobs so I always had a little money on me no matter what.

I worked as a stevedore in Dutch Harbor, Alaska until 1992.It was on a trip south that I went into Las Vegas. It was just a last stop on my way back to Alaska. However, I didn't make it back to Alaska until 2017 when I went up and visited my mother and sisters in Juneau. I had fallen in with the gambling and had it in my head that I could figure out a way to beat it. I was almost 40 years old when I ran into the gambling. My brother and sisters have a good laugh over me. They know I have deep pockets and think I should be spending more money than I do. My brother the other day told me I should buy an expensive watch. I told him "Why would I spend 10K on a watch when this $40 Timex keeps perfect time." That's just a waste of money. In any case, Yes I agree that the house edge changes slightly when tipping, but you're a number crunching million time in a row button pushing grinder. The edge matters to you it's all that matters you never expect to make more than whatever you think your edge is as you flat bet all the way. Last night I was talking on the phone with a friend, a fellow high roller, and we chuckled about how few understand how high rollers play: we could be playing a toin coss ;) with NO house edge and it wouldn't affect more than minutely whether we walked at the end with a lot or nothing. Mdawg I can answer your questions about RFID chips. The RFID system is even used in lowly (by your standards) $100 chips.

The scanner is part of the cashier's workspace. No chip needs to be specially scanned. If there's a problem you'll hear about it.

RFID chips in theory were to be tracked from the moment of purchase to the point of redemption. But in reality as soon as you lose an RFID chip that was bet the chain of ownership and tracking is gone.

RFID was designed as a means to both authenticate chips and as a means to more accurately record player bets for ratings. The original companies had devices to read the RFID chips in player positions at blackjack tables and they claimed they could even create RFID chip tracking positions at craps tables with multiple bets in one betting box... but it never happened.

Serial numbers on high value chips only prove authenticity and can't be used to track ownership because you never know if the chip you lost is the same chip you won back later.

What's interesting is that the first article from 2011, about the Bellagio robbery of the chips stated that all the stolen chips had been RFID deactivated. That the caper had been "foiled" due to RFID.

That subsequent article does not mention RFID whatsoever and makes it seem more like Bellagio just became hyper vigilant and started looking out for chips post-robbery, which, obviously didn't work out too well for the casino in that the robber was able to cash a half million of the $1.5M that he stole. (BUT: he did gamble even these half million in chips all away, so the casino got it all back...one way or another.)

I suppose we could just assume that the 2011, article was based on misinformation or conjecture, or maybe put out there by the casino industry to deter would be chip thieves.

I am aware of some people who recently got busted for possession of thousands upon thousands of $5. counterfeit chips. In their case they weren't even discovered at the casino - they were pulled over for a DWI type check, and the chips found in the trunk. The cops didn't even know that the chips were counterfeit but suspected something in that fifteen THOUSAND dollars of $5. chips seemed suspect.

C'mon, BoSox -- MDawg always wins. He's always right (at least about "a lot of things"). He doesn't dwell too long on stats. I'd have to rank his gambling excursions as at least a 9 out of 10 every time. He eats a lot. He has a hot wife. He doesn't worry about trends or probability or what the experts say. He goes on instinct. And he likes to hold forth in public forums explaining the aforementioned.

Plus, we're never gonna see his taxes.

redietz, I know why you are following MDawg's thread, and you will not be happy until you see him start posting enticing pictures of his wife, which would make you forget about the plate of ribs. But, if he starts posting pictures of her also eating those ribs you are going to need a paramedic. Yes, no doubt about it his stories often remind me of Mr. Singer's style of writing, and stories.

No, President wise, I'm more like George Washington. I cannot tell a lie! I just report the trip reports as they happen, session by session. Interesting how my win/loss statement for 2020, which didn't even exist yet at the time I posted the trip report, later corroborated the exact win? Well, not so interesting - in that the truth is much easier to report and keep track of than lies.
