That was the gambling claims, but the same thing happened with all his story. Changing and evolving everything.
So Rob is 74 as he tells us. That would have him born in 1949. He would have been eligible for military duty during the late 60's during the Vietnam war. If Rob served I too thank him for his service. But he has told the forums (not recently) that he was in college at that time, naming two different colleges, one which has no record of someone with his name. The other didn't release that info. So there is a conflict in Rob's story and claims right there, not that it matters.
Now Rob told us that he was in the aerospace industry. he used this claim to tell us he and his wife made good money. That seems reasonable and possible. I don"t know and don't really care.
But at some point, Rob story evolved into some sort of Jason Bourne CIA operative thing. That point was probably just after he saw the Jason Bourne movies. :D I think this actually came about when Rob started claiming he knew everything about everyone because he has friends in the FBI, police and evolved to CIA and this stuff. Later this fit in with the mysterious Isreali (from CIA connection) that supposedly bought Rob's made up RV, site unseen from overseas.
It just grew more and more bizarre. I guess it was all just fun and games because everyone knew or certainly should have known and recognized the ever-changing goofiness.
If someone asked me what Rob's story really is here is what I would say. The guy maybe went to college, maybe didn't. He is not stupid. He worked some kind of job/career for most of his life. He was/is a gambler. A lifelong losing gambler. I will not say degenerate because to me that implies a person that is out of control to the point they can't pay their bils and stuff. I never got that feeling from Rob, although he does have bankruptcies and evictions in his history which is readily available because he more or less used his real name.
So sometime in the late 1990's, which would have put him at about 50, Rob got deeper into gambling. Trying his hand at advantage play because of people like Bob Dancer who Rob was reading on forums and such. Rob failed at advantage play by his own admission. And then all these stories and ridiculous claims started. One after another. Evolving claims, changing over time. I don't know if Rob left his job/career to pursue this gambling stuff, or took some time away or what. His wife still worked during that period.
And now Rob is in his 70's and retired. I assume he and his wife has decent retirement between social security and careers. There is no reason why they couldn't have their own home now, but they chose to bounce around between kids houses mixed in with lots of gambling trips. Just like most life-long gamblers, Rob still has that bug.
I would bet that is pretty close to Rob's real story. No successful progressive wagering system complete with 'special plays" No double up bug that he stole, No great sums of suitcases full of cash won from casinos. No Newell RV's. No CIA, Jason Bourne shit. Just a guy who worked a job/career that likes to gamble.
