From the links you supplied I glean that the USA through NIH paid some money for purposes of researching aspects of the virus for pure research purposes; monet's implication that some sort of evil plan to develop weaponized viruses in China, under the nose of the Chinese, is hogwash.
Scientific Research can be a double edged sword as not all the results are wonderful: consider the development of the atomic bomb for example.
It may be that the virus escaped from the lab, that would make sense, but to think the USA is at all culpable for its escape is not sensible unless it can be proven that the USA actually exercised full management and control of the facility, which of course it could not.
I am fine with believing that yes, the USA / NIH gave some money to the lab to aid in scientific research, the results of which were to benefit the world; I also believ the virus escaped the lab accidentally.

I'm certainly no anti-vaxxer, but one should consider nuances when talking about the vaccines. For example,
1) We have no current efficacy rating for the vaccines vis-a-vis the Delta variant. It's primarily speculation. Efficacy percentages were (originally) assigned based on ratios in double blind trials. That was for the initial incarnation. And those ratings technically only hold for the time period defined by the trials. In other words, efficacy could conceivably, although not likely, fall off a cliff a few weeks beyond the duration of the double blind trials that were the rationale for the efficacy ratings.
2) If you'll note, you're not hearing from virologists much or from evolutionary biologists much in terms of who the government is putting front and center. You're hearing from public health officials in more or less scripted settings where the press doesn't get to ask questions. There are likely reasons for this. First off, something you're not hearing much in the US, is that it's generally not a great idea to apply vaccines that all feature attacks on the same viral mechanisms during a pandemic. It supercharges the virus' evolution to deal with the vaccines.
3) One manufacturer wants a third shot as a booster. Government health says no. Now sort through the motives of both to figure out the whys. What isn't being put front and center is that side effects from the third shot are likely worse than side effects from the second, which is daunting. It's also possible the side effects reality is much, much worse than the US reports. The only folks who will have a real handle on it will be the Scandinavian countries, whose socialized medicine is tracking side effects in a formal, organized way once every person is vaccinated. The US is relying on self reporting and physician reporting, and therefore only immediate, severe cases wind up in the US data, and only a fraction of those. One problem is that once people commit to vaccines, there is no psychological motive to say "I messed up" by either patient or physician. I'm sure you see the legal angles to this.
4) While vaccines undeniably cut down dramatically on hospitalization and deaths from Covid, it's a mystery as to whether long haul Covid is much reduced. It may not be. And if people are looser in their behavior because they are vaccinated, they are more likely to wind up with long haul Covid.
And finally, expanding on the last point, most important (other than vaccines during a pandemic driving virus evolution),
5) Social variables never get factored into any of the mixes you see discussed by the US government or the media. In other words, if the Delta variant is immensely more contagious, then any kind of social interaction is likely to fuel disease. Getting vaccinated does not preclude getting the disease or spreading the disease. It's undeniable that people who are vaccinated go out into the culture and spread disease because THEIR BEHAVIOR CHANGES BECAUSE THEY ARE VACCINATED. These behavioral changes in the vaccinated as a major causal factor in the spread of the Delta variant do not get discussed publicly. It's an obvious question any demographer, medical anthropologist, or sociologist would ask, but it never gets discussed.
What I'm saying is what we are being fed across the board is the Disney version of things. There are many, many nuances to this.
If you'll notice, nobody brings up the question of, "If the Delta variant can do this, what will the next variant and the one after that be like, and will current vaccines have much effect?"
When obvious questions aren't front and center, there are generally reasons they aren't front and center. And the answers are usually ominous.

I'll get into that on my blog. I think I mentioned here you don't see evolutionary biologists on the evening news. The argument being publicly made by US public health authorities is that the unvaccinated drive the creation of variants. That's true enough, but it's also true that using vaccines that all target the same thing during a pandemic supercharges variants that specifically evade the vaccines.
