Nobody is doubting you can't make money counting cards. It's just a shitty and slow way to profit off of casino games.

I am not going to even go there Eliot because it was a very abnormal year.
First, I don't track play by hours. Haven't for many years. My short session style has me playing many "parts" hours, so it is easier to track rounds played, plus isn't that what really matters? I use rounds played to figure EV for each session and then keep a running total of EV throughout the year.
Second, I don't concern myself win "win rate" as much as I track EV. I call it accumulated EV, adding up the EV for every session into a running total. And my actual win for the year, usually, as in 14 of 17 years comes in very close to accumulated EV, usually well under half a standard deviation, some years almost spot on. The fact that 3 years, 1 winning, and 2 losing have been outliers, is absolutely fine with me, it is within the "normal" range, but not numbers I am going to hold up as an example. I think I am pretty fair with sharing "bad years" as I am going through them so aspiring card counters can see what that looks like. By the numbers last year was accumulated EV of $77k and an actual win of $14k.
I am also not going to hold last year up as an example, because I purposely adopted a style of play that would increase variance, playing higher stakes than I ever had, but less rounds played, less than half the normal number of rounds. This is a recipe for disaster (high variance). I did this for several reasons, but let's just say mostly because I decide the pit folks would be busy with other new covid responsibilities and I thought I could get away with it without drawing extra attention. And that worked well, But it just so happens the higher variance bit me in the ass as I hit a pretty negative run almost immediately upon moving up in stakes. In large part at one single property. It would have been sweet if I had either hit a positive run or just normal variance just when I moved up, but it didn't work that way and I am fine with that, but not going to hold that out as an example of a so called, "normal" year. It was anything but.
Can I ask why you would even ask that? Do you feel I have not been fair in how I depicted my career in terms of sharing both good and bad years? I think I have been as honest and fair as I can be. I have had 5 different period now where I have gone through 40k Plus downswing that lasted for months. 4,5, in one case 6 months. That is not losing every day, but usually a significant downturn and months long climb back to where you were (last ATH). Honestly, I don't know any other player that has shared in such detail as he is going through it. Sometimes to my own detriment.
I am not disagreeing. I am fine with that. Actually still enjoy the game...well most days and years.
Ya know, you remind me of someone else, always taking the opportunity to remind card counters of our place on the ladder, or should I say our place in the pond (salamander). :D
jbjb, we are all ware of what you do, playing to a higher edge. We know you can't be bothered with card counting, as it is beneath you. You don't need to build yourself up by attempting to tear others down.
Not tearing anyone down. But why make chump change when you can easily make big bank?
What "higher edge?"Quote:

The answer is because I still like and enjoy what I am doing. Can most people say that? Can you say that?
AND if I were only about making bigger bank, I could do that right within the wheelhouse of what I am doing. I have the BR to play much larger stakes and make bigger money. I could travel around the country playing high stakes for 6 months to a year, wearing out my welcome, like KC and other have done. That is not what I am interested in. I am looking for a little longevity. What I consider a decent living doing something I enjoy. Not spending nights in a hotel, RV or my car but in the comfort of my home, working as close to a normal schedule as possible in this field.
I agree why make OneNickle(Chumpchange) when you can make the balling money like Grosjean.
jbjb, are you aware that I have done some holecarding? It is not like I haven't tried it. Probably my second or third year in Vegas, I found (not looking for but found) a very sloppy dealer at Circus Circus. I literally followed him around for a couple months, playing several times a week. Got to the point that I knew his schedule and had to set my alarm for odd times in the middle of the night to play with him. One day, I said "what the F am I doing? this isn't how I want to beat the casinos". And as I always say, there is nothing wrong with hole-carding. It is not illegal. It is not cheating. But I personally don't care for winning that way.
Card counting and hole carding are all well and good, but it seems to me the best AP would be to have the dealer cooperating with the player.
Of course this would be a crime: WARNING!
But if someone has balls of brass and is willing to endure the consequences of failure, I submit "the sky is the limit."
Ka-ching!
Purely for shits and giggels, if YOU were a player and had a dealer as a confederate, how would you structure the scam to maximize profit while minimizing the chance of being ddetected?
Yes but you certainly understand the problem with that. Example, small sample size. Guy plays 10 sessions of say 100 rounds each . Let's say he is red chip player, spreading $10-$80. He wins 8 or 9 of those sessions (even 7) for a total win of $1800. Is his real win rate (expectation) $180 per session or is it probably $10-$12 per session.
So if you are asking me to share results from my worse year (or worse year since way back when I was playing small limits), I don't think that is exactly fair. or representative. I am happy to say my actual results were 14k vs accumulated EV or expectation of 77k. I think that says it all. And any new player reading (not likely here) ought to get a feel for worst case or very bad possibilities.
What is wrong with you, Monet? Seriously? You know there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The casino gave me free play.....I played it. I don't know what their formula is? :)
Of all the things to bust on me about. I think if the Nuns from the local church were making their regular visit to the casino, even THEY would download and play the free play that was given to them.
Usually when things like this occur other people wind up with the same thing happening. The most recent being San Manuel casino a few months ago. With a 50x Freeplay glitch I am very surprised that no one else even knows or heard about it. Just saying.
Is that all you are saying? Lol. Sounds a lot like you are doubting me...but that is ok.
I did find it on the 1st of the month. Maybe they discovered it pretty quickly. Or maybe...just maybe they liked and were rewarding just me.
Either way it wasn't there week 2. :(
Seems like AP's are the ones challenging the great Kewlj fantasies.
It just seems odd. It is possible. Usually when that stuff happens it is a result of a misplaced decimal point in the system setup configurations. For example; in San Manuel's case it was a 100x glitch. In most cases it is a 10x glitch. In the case of progressive meters it can be all sorts of whacky ranging from 10x-1000x. But every system type glitch that I have seen or heard about has been by a misplaced decimal factor. IIRC..... Your claim makes the first I have ever heard of otherwise. I cited the San Manuel example because it was recent and public. I will not post other examples. But I am interested if any AP can claim they have ever run into a non decimal place freeplay glitch. I have asked around and so far have come up empty.
So, maybe the details were changed in the story telling from actual events for some reason. If so, then that should be done in a way that would not be questioned.
No "story telling" MaxPen. Just sharing what occurred. I am not even familiar with the incident you cited or any similar incident. I don't know why it was 50x. You will have to ask the casino involved. I think I told ya who it was didn't I. (I told several people I forget). If I didn't I will be glad to and you can look into it. I don't really care now that is seems to be over. :(
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!!
Holy Shit!
The comedy is strong in this thread today.
From that bullshit quote of kewlJ saying: "I don't want to win that way" to this idea of ASPIRING CARD COUNTERS lol.
MANY aspiring card counters?
I didn't realize so many people wanted to join the underbelly of society counting cards!?
Little Billy?
Yes Mom?
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to Count Cards!
Oh that's nice dear.
Just a coincidence using that name.
I went over to PFA reading some posts.
I didn't read much but the best was from badguy23.
He states:
Chink basketball did me in guys.
I'm down to playing the lottery with the rest of u.
Pray for me.
I got a good laugh out of that post.
Still laughing... Chink Basketball!
A lot of gems over there, ghost town lately though. A lot of cry babies left because of the whole "DESERTRUNNER" taking over the forum Lol. That fatass Sonatine, must have some pull over there surprisingly, a lot of people seemed to have "boycotted" with him. The lefties can't handle it. Mickey and Desert holding their own.
EvenTurd:

Probably because he blows what little money he has on online baccarat and roulette.

beginning at about 8:35 in the video Tommy Hyland, blackjack Hall of Famer, explains for a few minutes why he doesn't do holecarding
I'm holding my breath
I'm waiting to hear one of the geniuses here say that Tommy Hyland is just some bullshit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewVj...ature=emb_logo
They're all a bunch of "Amazing Kreskin's". And, the casinos threw also him out ... unless they have other plans.
One guy trying to shit on and top the story of the next. Does it all end at manic Monet? It's like one of those car contests in which the last man standing holding the car wins. Except the car is some old hag.
Hehehe.
gee whiz. I wonder why he was hiding his faceQuote:

Part of it’s the camera angle to avoid the face, but either untuck the shirt or lose some weight Tommy. Gross.
He is a known person.
Why hide the face?
Why does he fidget constantly?
Why go on camera if you want to hide your face.
Makes no sense.
Whatever, I respect what he has accomplished.
I just don't buy into the Holier than Thou BULLSHIT.
Isn't he the guy stuffing computers down his pants and shoes?
he never said he was Holier than anybody
he was asked a question and he answered it
he even made the point that holecarding is legal
not even remotely close to being more Holier than thou than the Bible thumpers
the Bible thumpers tell you they're going to heaven - they already got their ticket and have a reserved seat - and guess what - they'll even tell you you're not going to get there
"why go on camera if you're going to hide your face?"
almost surely the decision of the producers of the show - not his - he probably didn't want to question or challenge them
fidgeting? maybe he has some illness - people his age tend to have illnesses
You believe the guy and he is your hero.
Nothing wrong with that.
I choose not to believe that he is playing it as straight as he claims.
You can win the argument though.
I really don't care.
My point is that we all have blood on our hands.
Now leave me the Fuck alone as I am debating how much to lose on Hockey today.
Thanks.
Evenbob is off the mark again. IN the "alcohol volume going down" thread he thinks Jack Daniels is bourbon. It's not. It's pure corn whiskey. Bourbon is a blend. Using a bourbon substitute for Jack Daniels is not going to fool anyone as the JD has it's own distinctive taste.

Not a WoV quote but close enough since it is at PFA.
MickeyCrimm with the smack down...
"You couldn't pick your own mother out of nine chinamen".
lol lol lol
nice one mc.
Mickey has toned it down over there lately. With Sobchak behaving himself, Norwegian psycho Adamantium awol and embarrassed with his tail between his legs since his mental breakdown and a dozen or so libs losing interest. Mickey is losing sparring partners over there, he still has Nightmarefish.
I believe that Crimm wrote the same here, yesterday, of Red. I read it somewhere.
Anyway, a quick general internet search of part of the expression yielded this post, from October, 2014. How times have, apparently, changed.

Looks like old Crimm will say anything, at any time, to push his very own agenda. That Crimm always was every bit the idiot that Singer was. Maybe, it's all Vegas garbage, in general.
Sorry, no such geniuses here.
So what is the latest excuse to put Mdawg in red?

You son of a bitch you go after and insult everybody. At least you do not discriminate. What is it about you, do you hate the entire board?
Within my $250K challenge I said, "That quarter million should be enough to bankrupt you."
From what I gather, this was "insulting" in that it implied that $250K would bankrupt AxelWolf.
Boz seems to think I have at least $50M to my name. So if someone said, "I bet $50M that MDawg ______ , that should be enough to bankrupt him." - that would be considered an insult too?
I'd have thought assuming that AW could come up with $250K liquid would be far from insulting.
I try to avoid even reading that shithole, because it is exactly what I called it. No firm rules, only the Wizards folly based on how angry he is day to day. He has admitted as much in the past.
A couple members blamed me for posting something there recently. I guess I live in their heads.
That said if what you are saying is in context, that’s BS.
And if you haven’t found out, he is biased as hell. Which can work for or against you based on the day of the week. That said, I’m not exactly a unbiased arbitrator of the man.
Anyway it proves that he read what I posted there immediately, and pretty closely to pull that one sentence out of the long post and drop a suspension. Some people say he doesn't read his own forum?
He's reading the majority of the active threads over there. It could easily be read in 15min or less a day.
THAT COULD BE. AxelWolf has already admitted to being an informant! Once a rat, always a rat.

Love the trolling of EvenTard by TomG, lilred and crew over his baccarat and roulette "prowess."
CB: Why were you warned at WOV not to "import drama" from other forums, when AxelWolf is going on over there about some epiphany he had which could only be related to whatever was discussed at this forum - in that I was suspended after just one post there and there was nothing further discussed about the matter except over here?
It's as if the Wizard were monitoring this forum to have known that AxelWolf has been bashing my stock trades and that you were referencing AW's posts from here, and yet, that means that the Wizard also knew that AW was yesterday referencing "drama" from over here too, with his silly claim that he has now "realized" something. Which let's face it, the only "realization" AW THINKS he has made is that my wager has to do with the authenticity of the trades, which, yes that's exactly what the point of the wager is!
In short, I think AW has finally lost it due to burning too much rubber over The Adventures of MDawg.
Once Dear only posts here on rare occasion, but I suspect reads here regularly. It wouldn't surprise me one iota if Manboy does the same. They both read over at GF that's a given, there's been way too many times things "Lined up", for it to be mere coincidance.
TominNV aren't you TomG at WOV? So why are you playing dumb over there pretending you don't know what has been said.
That's the thing about forums they may be real time wasters. I spent far too much time on WOV today.
But, if there were even a 1% chance that AXELASS actually had a half million to back up his raggedy ass mouth, wasting a day or longer at WOV would be more than worth it.

It does just come down to ignoring the envious buffoons at WOV. I glance at rainman, lilredrooster, DarkOz, sabre, AxelAss, REDietz, TomG, the list goes on etc. etc. WOV posts still, but generally do not deign to respond.
Hmm...DarkOz isn't so much envious, as just a smart ass. Still worthy of Ignore though. Is REDietz envious, or just too out there to make sense. Does it matter? Ignore.
The forum actually works if you just barrel through and post what you want and ignore the detractors, who just add content to my threads anyway.
Yeah, if you take a 20-Card Keno game on a machine at the Longhorn.
Set up a 4-Spot on all 20 cards using the exact same numbers on all 20 cards.
Bet 50 cents on all 20 cards
The frequency of hitting all 4 numbers is 326.4
The payoff will probably be somewhere between $500 and $1000.
The game plays super fast.
Probably hit a 4-spot every 10 minutes or so.
The payscale on the 4-spot might be something like:
2 out of 4 pays 1 for 1
3 out of 4 pays 11 for 1
4 our of 4 pays 76 for 1
In this case hitting all 4 numbers would pay $760.
A 92% game but if you are getting an equivalent freeplay voucher for every top line jackpot then the game is 182% minus the cost of playing off the freeplay.
After you beat the shit out of the dumbasses they get pissed and throw you out.
I'm just guessing at all this from my little home in Montana. But I think I'm a pretty good guesser.
Usually those 20 card keno games have a low max amount you can bet on each card but you defeat it by setting up the same numbers on each card.
They might have been able to do it on a 3-spot which would have been even faster.
Axel undoubtedly crushed it by bringing in the other players for a percentage. He knew the house would get hip quickly so the best thing to do was skin the sheep instead of shearing it.
Bankroll requirements for this play: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Keno was my first thought also. If there are no suitable keno machines, video poker might provide a play.
The rules don't explicitly say "natural royal".
If there are deuces wild machines and the casino allows wild card royals, then these could be used.
I think it's a cycle of 500-550 to get either wild royal or a natural royal and depending on the specific game and strategy.
I need to correct a math mistake. You won't be getting a double pay for hitting 2 out of 4 and 3 our of 4 so the game would be about 113%.
I just did the math for a 3-spot. Typical payscale would be something like:
2 out of 3 pays 2 for 1
3 out of 3 pays 46 for 1
A 91.5% game. 46 for 1 represents 63.8% of the payoff.
On 20-card keno if you set all cards with the same numbers and can get a 55 cent bet per card then the the payoff for hitting all 3 numbers would be $506. The freeplay voucher adds 63.8%. So you would be at 155%.
Not sure why the right place is for this but since Dark Oz is mainly a WoV loyalist, this is as good as any. AND it’s not another beat down on his bad stock investing strategy, but more of a lesson to everyone who likes to gamble in small stocks.
A few of us warned about the Wild West nature of unregulated penny stocks and the scam artists who promote them. While this is in regards to Dark Oz and his CYDY gamble, it is common in these companies.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/brons...160000040.html
“ The investigation concerns whether CytoDyn and certain of its officers and/or directors have violated federal securities laws”
No knowledge of if this lawsuit has any merit or not. Those with history with Ahigh’s adventures in dealers with a career penny stock scammer know how hard it is to track these guys down and the years it takes. I’m sure this will be the exact same and in the end some lawyers will make some money and the gamblers (suckers, investors, etc) will be left holding the bag.
Honestly hate to see this happen to anyone, even if they can “afford” to those the money. Penny stocks are very similar to slot machines without you having an advantage. Play long enough and you will lose it all, but it doesn’t mean nobody ever wins. People hit Megabucks or a progressive, but do they know when to walk away?
Just food for thought instead of a “We told you so”. And as Alan said the other day, how has anyone invested not made a small fortune in the market the past year, Even in basic mutual funds?
It's not a lawsuit.
It's an investigation.
Every time the price goes down on Cytodyn predatory law firms launch investigations. They don't even have clients yet as evidenced by their request for people to contact them.
Every time these firms launch these investigations the price rises and the investigation disappears.
BTW, the price dropped on Cytodyn because of less than stellar trial results although they weren't disastrous either. Even a noobie like me knows if you take a risk on a biotech and the trial results go bad you don't get to hire attorneys to get your money back.
EvenScum on high limit rooms:
"The Huge Ego rooms? I don't play
there."
He doesn't because hes broke and can't!
Your stock could go to 1000 or to zero, but that's meaningless to anyone els.. What really matters is how much info you have that can be helpful to people today or in the future. Not just talk about what's happen, or how much you have made or how much can people make in the future with your knowledge. Let me know when you have made someone else(we know and can verify ) lots of money. How much has MDawg helped anyone legit on the forums make? Legitimate stock tips? Perhaps unfortunately that's just guessing. Let me know if someone is taking his advise and has made any real money because of it.
The obsessed with his portfolio braggart doctor. Then again he gets stock advice from every Tom(not TomG) Dick, Harry, sister, brother in law and last but not least step daughter. So him gaining stock advice, from someone who's even more narcissistic then himself(Dog) doesn't really count I guess. Since he will take anybody advice in regards to trading.
You may think the following is meaningless but I have not seen too many people beat this gem. This applies to all matters of risk and is necessary in building a good foundation for future endeavors. Oh and it was provided this week by MDawg.
"To do exactly what I do you'd need high credit lines and, more importantly, the ability to pay them off without incurring any sort of financial hardship. In other words - playing with money you may afford to lose. I can't imagine playing confidently if I couldn't afford to lose."
Regardless if people take the man seriously or not no one can deny that whatever aspect in life you get involved with you are always going to need sound money management skills. Even if your vacation trips to Vegas are for entertainment purposes like MDawg.
