Plenty of truth and humor in this post. I don't think he should be beat up but I do think he should go jump in a lake. I would say he should jump off a cliff but he got upset about that lol, even though he posted up a youtube video of him jumping off of a cliff and daring all his members to jump of a cliff. It is clear that you can dare someone on his site to jump off a cliff but don't tell them to go jump off a cliff.Quote:

Usually the use of multiple screen names concurrently allows one with weak debating skills to have the minions agree with him/.her. The minions of socks. Kind of makes me feel sorry for folks that need a dozen of so screen names.
I have always registered in sites under the same one for 20 years. And I have been able to hold my own in debate. I win some and lose some...but i never needed to bring in a dozen socks(or even 1) to hide behind. Because socks are for hiding,
what type of person uses 17 socks??,,,,,answer: someone with alot of reasons to hide.

I figure I should be able to collect 40k in FP even if I only collected, however these days in Vegas it is a good idea to give them some play when you pick up your free play. Some places you can still rip off your FP and pull the card and they don't show you picking it up but for the most part these days most accounts are locked in and they don't seem to like players just ripping off and not playing. I have heard some recent stories of other players having troubles picking up the wifes FP or not playing and getting No Mailed so as I have said it is best to give a certain amount of play when you pick up.Quote:

I think you have a valid point. I wouldn't consider myself completely sane. I have issues as I would think most of us do in life. I guess the reason I put up the socks was because I wanted to see if it was possible and after I made a few of them with no problems I wanted to see how many you could actually make and get away with and it sorta snowballed from that point. Part of it is Ego and part of it is I don't like being policed. I guess another part was that Mike made some post about how my comments were not worthy of being heard over there so I dunno I just wanted to have a way to post if I wanted to post. What can I say... I am a 42 year old child. I am also very new to forums. I only posted on Civfanatics prior to WoV and that was because I played that game for years and you don't run into heated debates on that type of forum. WoV was my second Forum and I basically just imploded. I'm a flawed human, I can't help it... I make bad decisions all the time. I think you are correct about me wanting to hide. I've been hiding my whole life. What do you expect from a criminal? Honestly though how much can you hide over there? They have my real IP and a few of them have my cell number. This is plenty of information for them to get my name, address and anything else to cause me havoc if that is what they wanted.Quote:

Yeah, it certainly seems like stuff is drying up. I haven't been around long, but it seems like the "grind" plays of today are much more of a grind than they were even 2-3 years ago, since they're giving lower point multipliers, limiting you on action, removing better machines, cutting back on mail, etc. etc.Quote:

And then there was mickey's infamous threat against Mike at 3am in the morning. Yeah, Mickey threatened Mike, but everyone, and I mean everyone with an ounce of common sense knew that was just the old mickey "fueled by a little firewater" talking. Mickey more or less apologized the next morning.
Now here's why I bring this up. Recently it was suggested to Wizard that mickey, a hugely valuable poster, not only in my opinion, but by Mike's own words, be reinstated since mickey is no longer drinking for going on a year now. And of course mickey's 'posting while intoxicated' was the whole reason for his departure. Now in response to this suggestion, Mike brought up mickey's threat and said something like "maybe if mickey apologized". Well Mickey did apologize for one and two, Mike knows that was not any kind of real threat. And if he doesn't know that, well, then seriously, he isn't as smart as I thought he was. :(
Mike Shackleford is a strange man. I mean you have the unicycle and rubic's cube thing and the food contests, all kind of odd, but no harm. I actually enjoyed watching Mike's recent video of solving was it the 4x4 or 5x5 rubic's cube while riding his unicycle. His goal was under 10 minutes and somewhere closing in on 10 minutes he finished, jumped off the unicycle and came running to the camera all excited. While neither the rubic's cube, nor riding a unicycle are my kind of thing....I loved his enthusiasm. So that's the odd, quirky Mike Shackleford.
But the strange, Mike Shackleford that I am speaking of, is the guy who refuses to forgive and forget and move forward. And I am not specifically talking about me or my situation. There are many issues and members banned that would be so much better off to just move on. Life really is too short for all that kind of shit!
Recently someone started a discussion about allowing banned members to return. Mike said no, which is his right. But his reasoning went something like this "There are no second chances in life. You get one chance. Make it count". I don't know where he lives, but this is America and America is a land based on second chances. The people that came here initially and almost all those that migrated here at some point, including my ancestors, all came for a second chance that America offers. Much of our penal code, except for the most serious crimes involves second chances. Bad credit, gets wiped away after a certain amount of time in favor of a second chance. I could go on and on. Mike is just in serious conflict with American values.
And since I am into this rant, which surely eliminates any chance for a KJ return to WoV, ;) I want to again comment on Mike's frequent "dictatorship" comments. Yes, someone has to be the final word, make the final decision. And that is Mike. But he should try to incorporate as much democracy and input from members as possible, not just because that is American values, but as someone today (maybe Gordon) posted the members are really the value at WoV or any forum. the members are what makes it tick. Mike never seemed to understand that. His juvenile approach of dictatorship, and suspensions for the tiniest trivial things and a very uneven hand making the calls on those suspension, pages and pages of suspensions. And worse even....all the bannings. Sure there are some trolls that should be banned, when it becomes obvious their goal is to drag down the site. BUT, there are many, many banning of good people who participated positively for a long period, and are banned because of some misunderstanding or worse yet, difference in opinion in regards to AP or gambling play.
Really? You are going to ban those kind of members? APs? And successful players? I think Mike forgets why he started the site. Remember that mission statement that went something like, "a place to share idea in the hopes that members will become better gamblers and players"? Banning successful players, both professional and recreational is in direct conflict with that 'mission goal'. It's a shame, but apparently Mike just doesn't care anymore and has forgotten why he started the site. Mike's values and "king" complex are more in line with a Saddam Hussein, or a Kim Jong-Il, than American values.
But I wish him a happy, healthy and successful New Year. ;)

2 mods, Face and Mission have said that if asked they may have put in a good word and helped to smooth things out as time healed old wounds.
However since the threat (albeit, non physical) was made...KJ pretty much made his own bed when it comes to getting re-instated.
so I agree...its misleading to say that the original banning was due to a threat from KJ.....maybe it was more die to a threat fromQFIT.
But the continued banning was self inflicted.
