What Does Everyone Think About the 2020 Presidential Candidates

Establishment republicans have never been about cutting government spending. Federal budgets have grown every year no matter if it's a lefty or right president. But here's the bullshit game the left plays. They propose a ten percent increase in a departmental budget over the previous year. Repubs say no, that's to much, we can go along with 5% but not 10%. The headline in the mainstream media is:

REPUBLICANS WANT TO CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING.

No, idiot. They want to curtail the growth in government spending. But that's the bullshit propaganda games the left plays.

I believe ONE Obama statistic defines what the democrats are and have always been about:

During the Obama administration, the US ACCUMULATED MORE DEBT THAN ALL PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATIONS COMBINED.

That is a powerful fact, and one that, whenever it's brought up to Obama in his interviews, he immediately changes the subject in a very nervous manner. He knows he should be ashamed of such an achievement....all while everywhere but Fox News gives him a free pass on it.

I thought it was a core platform point that Republicans want to cut government spending. You make it sound like the headline is misleading. Where is the bullshit or propaganda? I believe it is propaganda to say that liberals want to spend money. Trump wants to spend more on the military. It is just a matter of where people want to spend the $$.

You act like he is the only one concerned about the future. Well, most of the world was realized global warming is not some bullshit made up by "leftists". It is a serious problem (the most serious) that will continue to get worse having catastrophic issues. (Want to talk about immigration issues we have now, just wait.....) Yet, Trump actively tries to fuck up what little efforts are being made to mitigate that. Pure evil. This holier than thou shit about who cares more doesn't really resonate with me.

I could make another argument about inflation and what expectations are, but that'd mean I'd need to research all this to figure out exactly what you're discussing and CLEARLY that isn't worth the effort.

Please don't forget that Bush's last two years had democratic majorities in both houses. Also, some believe that the community reinvestment act (CRA) was a major contributor to the housing bubble and subsequent crash. The CRA was enacted under Carter in 1977 and then had legislative changes in the 90's under Clinton. That and a push for deregulation by Clinton and Bush 41 contributed to the Great Recession.

Here, I'll do the math for you, numnuts. The Dems propose 10% growth in a departments budget from the previous year, the repubs only want to go 5%. Whether the department gets 10% or just 5% the budget will be larger (growth) than the previous year. But the Dems use that scenario to accuse the repubs of wanting to cut spending. But nothing is going to be cut from the previous years budget. It's actually going to grow, either 5% or 10% depeding on who gets their way. It's that 5% difference the Dems are calling "Cutting Spending." Its called LYING WITH STATISTICS!

Danny, Ice Ages are cyclic and I read that they occur on a 100,000 year cycle. So, I suppose the scientists are right in the long term. It (the temperature) will be Atlas shrugging compared to whatever warming man is responsible for (if any) over the long haul when the next Ice Age starts to exert itself.

I never bought the narrative that the Russians wanted Trump over Hillary after they dumped 120 Million into the Clinton Foundation to buy her influence. And Putin played her like a top over the Uranium 1 deal. I think the Russki's were just as shocked as everyone else that Trump won. They thought Hillary would win. What they were really doing was trying to sow discord into American politics. They want us bitchfighting each other.

Just look at what Trump has done to the Russians since he took office. The stronger American economy is not in the Russian's best interests. Trump giving the greenlight to ANWR, Keystone and Dakota Access did not help Russia's position in the world oil market. Trump bombed Syria after Putin warned him not to. Trump lambasted Angela Merkel for working towards a natural gas pipeline from Russia to Germany. Told her what idiots the Germans were for that. This caused the Germans to rethink it. Do you think Putin is happy about that? Trump has placed by far much stronger sanctions on the Russians than Clinton/Bush/Obama. Did that make Putin happy? Trump demanded that NATO countries finally pay up the money they owe for defense and thats led to a much stronger NATO. Do you think that made Putin happy?

Hillary would not have done any of the above except maybe bomb Syria. So in 2020 do you really think the Russians want more of Trump?

I don't understand the vagaries of federal budgets. I do know US government prints money and thus devalues it every year. You could increase the $ amount, yet still shrink the budget. It makes this whole discussion kinda pointless to me. If you're holding this up as your big example of the mainstream media's propaganda "Republicans want to cut government spending" then you've likely missed the bus many times in your life.
