But you are somewhat correct--only it isn't anything that will make you experience a happy ending over this. Because my strategy has won a little over 85% of the time, I indeed really have NOT been thru any losing streaks since dumping the phony AP nonsense and becoming an intelligent, strong player.
Now please, they're not planning on tearing down the woodshed any time soon. I would venture to say that, with all of those demons you're dealing with and all the confessions you're no doubt involved in these days, too many trips out there isn't really doing you any favors :)

If I recall, when Dancer discussed the car and how much it cost him, a lot of Internet readers could not believe his justification. It just didn't make sense.
On a smaller scale, its like me losing $100 in a video poker game to get a $50 comp. What's the point?

I suspect Al Gore's win goal on the internet occurred around 1990. Everything since then has been due to people playing beyond their stop/loss goal. I think, in terms of civility, this board (and a lot of the internet) has been in a cold cycle for awhile. That's what happens when a credentialed mathematician doesn't check the math being generated by some of the chips. You get all kinds of stuff appearing on the screen, and it looks ugly.
If he invented it so that those like arci may get the punishment they've asked for, even I would vote for him if he ran again!
You have to admit, watching him lie about himself, lie about Dancer, even lie about me....while he avoids the zingers that actually make him do all that lying along with making him lose his cool with the resultant namecalling....has a certain amount of bonus value that soothes and satisfies :)
I got very lucky. I inserted a $500 free play voucher and converted it into $625 in the first 8 hands (each hand is $25 played). Two full houses paying $200 each was the big reason, along with some two-paid hands at 8/5 Bonus. But it gets better: with the next $300 I got a pair of 6s, held and drew quads for a $625 pay. No royal on this trip, but I was dealt a straight flush three times. Two of the straight flushes came within a half hour of each other, and ironically one was the same dealt SF as the hand I got on my previous trip-- ace through five of spades. After that steel wheel the straight flush was six through ten of spades. When I sent photos to my wife, she said to me "does this mean the royal in spades is next?" Nope. No royal.Quote:

Here's what I've been up to with Caesar's. We've been to Harras Lake Tahoe twice this year and Paris once just recently. All my rooms have been compress because I do them online and stay away from the hosts. I haven't put any play in on any visit until my second evening on this trip, and I hit a dollar royal on my 4th hand of 6/5 BP after losing my first three. +$3980 (no tip on the handpay of course) and that was it. We then went out to dinner at the Hyatt in Incline Village. I took every penny of that profit home with us today.
If I had continued playing, sure, I could have won more. But that overwhelmingly does not happen. Than goodness for the ability not to be controlled by the casinos, as my uncanny winning after retiring from professional play continues!
Congrats on the rather large win. I'm not real familiar with the entire Harrah's marketing. Do you get any kind of offers? I'm reasonably happy with the ultra-cheap rooms at the Rio currrently, and the discounted Bill's rooms. Do specific properties treat you differently, or do they all pretty much give you the same offers? Your play varies so wildly session to session that I imagine there must be a fair amount of debate when the properties try to compare notes. Do they compare notes? -- is my question.

It was respectful, but as that ended a suit came over and said "so we're just here for an enjoyable dinner tonight, MR. SINGER....I mean, Mr. Argentino?" I said yes and introduced my wife, and we went into the steakhouse bar where I ordered myself a snifter of Pappy Van Winkle's 23 year old Bourbon. I knew everything I did was being watched, so when we took our table I paid for my wife's Cosmopolitan and my $58 shot, and left a very noticeable $50 tip. That had more to do with the excellent female bartender bringing out every bourbon bottle I asked to take a look at than anything else. That bar specializes in bourbon selection.
Better not tell Alan. According to him a person will usually get ahead at some point in time in the future. With random machines there is no difference between the hand immediately after a RF and the first hand on some subsequent trip (or any other hand for that matter).Quote:

And Alan is right. I've been ahead at some point almost every time I've ever played. So has he, and so have you for that matter. Your problem is, because you don't care whether you get trips or a royal and you are more concerned with slot club points and # of hands played so you're able to manufacture as many phantom bucks as possible, you never really notice if you're up by 5 credits or 5000.
BTW, here's more for you to ignore while your stomach continues to churn and the blood continues to boil. :) What's your family vacation plans look like for the rest of this year? I imagine a nice visit to Hawaii might work well for sometime in the winter months?
Once again we see your logic is wanting. If, as you and Alan claim, you normally get ahead in a session, then why would a person ever lose?
If you are at a win goal or after any win that puts you ahead, then you are at no different point than you would be after any hand on a random machine. Therefore, you should also be able to get ahead from this point.
And, once you get ahead you simply continue to follow this same logic. The result is you can't lose ..... or ...... your assumption is wrong. Since we all know by experience that people do lose we have now proved by contradiction that the claim that a person will get ahead in a session must be false or the claim that machines are random must be false.
However, Alan believes both to be true. Hence, the perfect example of cognitive dissonance.
As for the dufus, we already know he lies about almost anything, so anything he says can't be taken seriously.
