Gaming Today has informed me that, "We have had no contact with Rob Singer for a number of years and have no articles from him for publication."
This is unfortunate, as I was looking forward to them.
Not surprised. You would think that the individual from GT who provided you with a response to your question would check within the company before providing you with a reply. Thus, Rob Singer is out of sight and has been for a long time.
I suppose it's possible that the last columns that ran under the "Rob Singer" pseudonym at Gaming Today created so much bad will that the pseudonym has been retired or banned there. If that's the case, maybe the columns in question have Rob Argentino as the author, and that would explain the conflicting stories. Someone should probably contact Gaming Today and check to see if they have had contact with Rob Argentino, Rob's legal name, and have columns by him awaiting publication.
I think if Rob were to publish again and if GT were to publish -- it would be under the name Rob Singer. In this case, a rose by any other name would not smell as sweet to the publisher.
Since I have some experience with the media business, and since I have had articles published in various magazines and newspapers over the years... I can tell you honestly that sometimes the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.
I once had a major article published in New Jersey Magazine and they left off my byline. I once wrote a major article for the Columbia Journalism Review that was cut down to three paragraphs. And then I once wrote a "brief" for Barron's which got the attention of the editors that turned into a cover story. And then there was that "little article" I wrote for the Washington Journalism Review that ended up on the White House "reading list" and led to a revamp of the government's unemployment statistics surprising the editors there who didn't think much of my piece. We say in the business "this isn't brain surgery" and thankfully it isn't because too many patients would die with all of the misjudgments made.
This isn't the AP or CBS news. It's a much smaller publication and I'd guess that even if someone personally called everyone associated with the organization it would still take less than an hour to reach them all. Besides, my recent contact with GT shows that at least one person in the company did some external searching to determine why questions concerning Rob and future articles in GT were being raised and I can't imagine they would have taken the time to do that without first exhausting every possible internal explanation. And for the record my initial query had no details at all: it merely stated that Rob had posted that he had 2 new articles ready to be published at GT and my asking when that would occur.
Rob tried to dismiss reply's that came from the publisher by stating he only dealt with editors or managing editors. The problem with that explanation is that while my reply did eventually come from the publisher, my initial contact was with the managing editor who then forwarded my message. The email I received also showed that the managing editor had searched online and found the origin of Rob's claim and even contained a link to that page on this forum. There is no way of knowing exactly how much either one of them read of that thread but the fact that they were interested enough in the subject to track down where it began suggests that they probably made it through at least all of Rob's first post which clearly spelled out the details of his purported "new GT deal".
So at this point we have at least 2 people at GT who have knowledge of what Rob has claimed on this forum, as well as replies from the publisher stating she has had no contact with Rob in years and is not aware of any pending articles from him. Given what has transpired so far, Rob's claim to have contacted GT 2 day's after the denials by the publisher received by redietz and myself and was told at that time that his articles "have not run yet" doesn't seem to be remotely plausible. By this time surely everyone working for GT who might be even remotely involved in getting a story published would have been asked about it.
Given the facts and events that have unfolded, that GT was well aware of his statements and denied they were true and that Rob continued to claim the opposite, leads me to the only logical claim I can see which is that Rob fabricated the entire incident.
In that original post Rob gloats about how his articles are going to expose Arci as "the lying phoney he's always been". How ironic that the story turns out to show that the true "lying phoney" here is actually Rob.
David Stratton is listed on their website as Managing Editor: http://www.gamingtoday.com/columnist/bio/19
Didn't Spock say his initial contact was with the "managing editor"?
Let me get this straight. You two are arguing that the publisher stating they have had no contact with Rob in years is simply wrong. And her saying they have none of Rob's articles is wrong.
If that's the case, I feel obligated to let her know how wrong she is.
Oh what a tangled web we weave ....
It's a wonder that anyone still believes one word from an obvious pathological liar like Singer. But, I guess people would then have to admit I have been right about everything.
Arc I think your knowledge of video poker math is flawless.
I stumbled upon Rob way back in 2000 when I was researching my first trip to Vegas and I've been morbidly amused ever since. Your relationship with him goes back pretty far but I don't recall ever hearing details about it. What is your thing with Singer? Do you actually know him or is it just an internet thing or what. Just curious.
By noon today, Monday, I would expect Rob to say something about his new articles and Gaming Today. I am sure Rob understands the importance of letting us know who has made the decision to run his articles and approximately when. Noon should be enough time.
Arc has investigated legal and property records for Rob's legal name, for heaven's sake.
No comment on your deadline Alan?
You've always received straight answers from me. It's a few of these others who don't like them so they obfuscate the truth. Spock and his jealousy, arci and his "ten minute research" that he either stopped when it was time to insert more money--or more probably, he lied so he wouldn't be so down, given his having to keep dealing with Olive Oil; then these guys who got so mad over $150k in recent jackpots that they try to get satisfaction of some kind elsewhere. People can believe what they choose to believe. All that envy and twisting of the truth that was a staple as my columns came out each week and burned these people no end, is irrelevant especially now. We know arci lies simply because he destroyed his family life in retirement with his addiction to vp....while we enjoy and thrive like he wishes he could have. Spock's just one of the haters who'll say and try anything just to soothe his unending pain over me. I may go out next month and play big again just to hurt him some more :) Too bad he picked someone who enjoys watching him be an idiot.
GT will either run or not run the two articles. It won't mean anything to me either way. And I already told you who is working it for me. If they don't publish them, and since it seems a few are sitting on the edge of their seats here just waiting to read them, then I'll give them to Alan to put up.
Rob sent me an email with an explanation of his relationship with Gaming Today and the articles. Since it was a personal email, I asked Rob to post what he sent me. I think it would clear this up.
Oh please, here we go again with the secret handshake stuff. Whenever the pressure on Singer is increased he sends you e-mails that somewhat "explain" everything. He's playing you for a sucker. Please do tell us what Rob has delivered since he started posting here? Exactly: nothing.
Alan, my previous response (the one above) was not intended to be an attack on you. I was trying to address another Singer pattern. But it didn't exactly come out the right way :)
He has made so many claims, said he was going to share so much proof to back up his claims and he has delivered nothing. And still we're dancing around in circles with this guy. I really don't get that.
Alan, I did get your msg. but after dinner and a snow day we turned in early.
I'm not interested in posting anything further on what's going on with GT. These people are just too sore over my recent wins, it eats away at them, and since they can't reverse or disprove the hands they keep trying and today are focused on something of very little value. And on the flip side, arci has no real concern over my winning. His beef is that we're living and they're not. And VL...can you imagine if I had simply claimed to have hit these winners and didn't post pictures. "He never delivers"....but instead, he has to take it. And if you knew what they were like over there, they can't.
I'm now really looking forward to putting up my next big winners when I play again. I'm liking what it does to them. :)
As Gomer Pyle used to say, "Sur-prise, sur-prise!!"
Rob, you do realize it is within the realm of human probability that someone could (A) traipse into the GT offices and get this straightened out in person and (B) hassle the Wynn and report that someone is posting wins on their machines with dates attached so it comes off as a direct advertisement for the Wynn without the necessary verification?
Neither of these actions requires a whole lot of energy.
Oh, wait, that's right -- Rob never actually posted where the win took place. He left it to others to figure it out and actually name it in a post. In fact, he purposefully blanked the name of the casino -- almost as if he knew one should not post unverified jackpots for LV casinos. Rob's a smart dude -- surprise, surprise.
Now as for Alan --- hmmmm, some interesting questions. Did Alan avoid mentioning the Wynn by name or not? Let's reread those posts, shall we?
Redietz I never mentioned the name of the casino. I cannot verify the win nor can I verify that the photo is legitimate and I have not verified the appearance of the $25 symbol.
Rob if you won't post your GT explanation then I will to end this. Time to admit what happened, Rob.
Let me guess. Someone who used to work for Gaming Today lied to Rob about still working there, so Rob has been slaving over his articles and sending them to some schmuck who can't get them published. It was a communications snafu. Rob is not to blame.
If Rob ever needs a ghostwriter, maybe I could sub for him. I think I have the character down cold.
Poor Robbie has lost his creativity a long long time ago. He's in broken record mode again! Oh we're so envious Whoahahahaha. You've totally lost every connection with reality.
Rob will never get true his thick skull the flack he gets has nothing to do with the jackpot hits he posts. It has everything to do with all of his outlandish claims! Once he's asked to show some proof he comes back with rants filled with insults, mysterious storage lockers filled with data he never delivers, tax returns he never delivers, GT articles he never delivers, ahhhh do I need to go on? Over 2000 of your posts speak for themselves Bubba, I really don't need to convince anybody. You on the other hand try to convince people by shouting, but it's not really helping now is it? Just another day in lala land I guess.
Since Rob doesn't want to post the explanation he sent to me by email, I will:
"The person I dealt with on these articles is David Stratton. You've already seen me post that. He was the managing editor/editor all the years that I wrote my column, so I contacted him on his cell when I got the idea of the two articles. I wasn't aware that he had he left GT, but he told me he still feeds them things at times, and that he could get my articles published, likely after football season. I talked to him last week and he said he is still working it. That's exactly where this is. I don't push, I don't care if they ever make print, and it was simply done out of interest."
So do I get the job as Rob's ghostwriter?
I can also run the charm school when Rob's on vacation.
You could begin by telling us who you are, who you consult for, name some of those "high-rolling" picks IN ADVANCE of the games, providing evidence of what you claim, explain and show where you make these heretofore phantom bets, and provide some general background that seems to have made you a legend in your own mind. Of course, you can do all of the above very charmingly. You can also not do any of it, which has been the case here since you arrived. But beware, if and when you choose to do so, that if you make Dutch jealous enough inasmuch as he starts to think you might generally be better or smarter than him or his crew of Martins & Adrians, he might blow his little windmill on you too :)
Oh Robbie is really hurting because I don't look at him as the next best thing. Deal with it. Just an update for you: another group of Dutch sissies won gold, silver and bronze in one event. You know what? We're still ahead of you in de medal count. Who would've imagined that could happen to the Dutch? After all, we're just a bunch of losers right?
Red caught you with your pants down, oh what a tremendous embarrasment.
I wouldn't say Rob got caught, and I wouldn't call it a tremendous embarrassment either. I think he was premature in his announcement about publication, and I wouldn't doubt that the articles could still show up.
Well, since I'm a bit of a sports guy, I'll put the odds against those articles appearing in the next three months at -300. Any taker?
You have six hours to take the wager, guys. Just post here and let me know.
What odds would you put on:
1. Proof of his systems from that storage locker in Arizona showing up.
2. Tax forms being sent to Alan.
3. Any kind of W-2G form showing the 50k or 100K win or a win/loss statement being sent to Alan?
4. A confession from him stating that he's just been trolling everyone all along?
Careful. If the action is big enough publication can be bought.
LOL -- Alan, you've been reading my first drafts. I edited out suggested dollar figures because with GT, well, even a hundred bucks might go a long way.
Eddie, being one of the jealous ones who just can't deal with these big wins, I'll make a deal with you that will not hurt you further:
A. If you can get arci, who made the challenge and said he would send Alan his tax forms, to actually do that, I'll do it too. Now what's the chance of him complying? Ha!--since he's already stalled more than a model T in a rainstorm and since he knows I've already seen 3 years' worth of his and they ain't as advertised, don't bet whatever you're worth, which obviously isn't much.
B. I actually have retrieved the boxes of test data and strategy development data recently. Who wants what, and how?
C. W2G's on these wins that make you and a few others squirm with envy, will be provided to Alan for posting as soon as he and everybody else posts theirs, and as soon as redietz shows proof in ANY form, that he has anything at all to do with gambling. But you have to give me time to photoshop them into perfection.
D. Confession: Amsterdam is a den of drug-using slugs who's only contribution to the world is homos, dikes ( :)...I KILL me!) and those wooden shoes. And I admit I've been there a dozen times....
1. You should know better...or at least you certainly have the TIME to know better. It isn't legal to copy what I've seen, and it probably isn't even legal to have seen it. But I did. And it told me exactly what kind of liar I've always known you to be.
2. Scan your filled out forms and put them up, then I'll do the same thing. We'll then both mail them into Alan and he will send them into the IRS this time--but only after receiving both. I'll bet eddie the amount of his entitlement check that you will never do it.
3. Now lets see you try to escape this time like you did the last. I know, I know....the guy who originally makes the challenge isn't supposed to be made a fool of, esp. by his nemesis :)
Like I said you know nothing about me. Believe it or not, some people still travel to Las Vegas and casinos for fun. And I do post winners over on the Las Vegas Advisor site.(A site that you've been banned from.)
I started following on this site because I had read about you from the LVA site. You had promised proof of your systems and I was interested. When I request to see the proof the insults come. Very mature of you.
Since you seem to like to analyze anonymous posters, let me try to analyze you.
Are you really even married? Do you even have children? If you act even 1% in real life like you do on this forum, I would be really surprised if anybody on the planet cares about you.
You have declared bankruptcy and admitted to losing $250,000 playing VP. You try to pass yourself off as someone who "knows a secret" to beating the casinos. The "undeniable truth" is you are a life long loser. You post pictures of other people's wins and try to pass them off as your own, just because you think it will make people "jealous" of you. Do you have any idea how pathetic that is?
A great deal of your life has been (and still is being) wasted inside casinos, and now you are resorting to making thousands of posts across multiple forums just trying to get a little attention because life has passed you by and all you have is a trailer (if that) to show for it.
You are evasive and belligerent when anyone requests any kind of tangible proof, or you request that a big bet be made that you can provide proof. Is that your own little way of trying to hustle someone? Do you really need money that badly?
So, I'm fairly sure my assessment of you will be pretty close to anyone else's that has read your recent posts. You are a lying, bigoted, cheap, homophobic, intolerant, gambling addicted waste of life that is likely hunkered down in a rusted out trailer looking to scrape up enough change to put a gallon of gas in your RV so that you can get to a liquor store to return your empties so you'll be able to play a few more hands of video poker.
Say whatever you like "Rob". You are in your 60's and 20+ years older than me. I'm sure redietz would agree that the odds of you "eating dirt" before me are not in your favour. So, enjoy what little life you have left "Rob", sitting alone in your trailer waiting to die. No one will mourn your death.
Rob, I would gladly post my W2Gs of my big wins if you would, in turn, post your W2Gs of your big wins. But I don't think my W2Gs matter because after all, I am a net loser at video poker and I don't claim to be a big winner. I only play $5 VP games (and on a few rare occasions I played $10 and $25 when I had free play to do it for a very limited number of hands).
I have two progressive royals from several years ago at Rincon... both for about $36K and a few months apart... and I will post them here if you would in turn post your W2Gs from the $50K winner and the $100K winner. Post your answer, please.
Regarding the other points above:
A. I wanted to see your tax forms first before Arc sent in his -- and now I am asking both of you to have them sent to me. Let's see who does.
B. You've been promising that data for a long time and if you have it now you OWE it to us to make it available. As I offered to you before -- I will post it and ALL OF IT on my website at no charge if it will prove your claims. So send me the proof.
C. I responded to your W2G challenge above.
D. You'll never make it in the Diplomat Corps.
Gam Bling is shiny rhinestone fishnets on Jessica Alba.
That's all I know, and all I need to know.
W2G challenge? Go ahead and post them, they aren't important to me. What do mine mean to you? And all they'll do to people like Eddie is irritate him further and then he'll have no other way out of his self-created conundrum other than to proclaim I made them up and/or lost more than I've won. These paupers just can't live with RS winning. They're so used to losing it's gotta be like a knife in the nuts to see such large winners. You saw his whining and rants above. I kinda like to see weakness like that keep stewing.
I'm not letting arci run for the hills again after I do all the work this time. Post his forms and payment, then I'll send you mine.
I don't owe these clowns anything. The only way I can think of anyone understanding the data is for us all to meet somewhere, like I tried to do with Wizard and his big-mouth geniuses if you remember, where I can thoroughly explain the strategy and the machine testing data. Four boxes/thousands of pages. That's my idea. What's yours? Arci would be required, but can he travel? Redietz probably wouldn't show w/o a disguise. Eddie couldn't afford it, and Dutch couldn't either even if he had the time away from that little place.
Not interested at all in being diplomatic. All I care about is family, staying healthy, easy living, and making easy money. These people come and go like the wind. They only stay around as I command them to.
You're wasting your time Alan, no, and I don't care about yours. I used to do that for the paper all the time, but they never got published. And who else publishes these things? If it bothers you that these clowns say stupid things, get over it. Doesn't mean a thing to me. Show me Dancers or Scott's or any other known personality who publishes these things and I will too.
My challenge of the century (or, as Gaming Today called my $640k CASH challenge to that loser Fezzik "GT Columnist Lays Down The Gauntlet" after my opponents verified I did indeed put up the cash) has already been made, and I would never ask or expect anyone who says they win to jump thru hoops for other lesser souls. This is peanuts for paupers and you know it.
My wonder here is how you have the time every day for all this stuff. We're traveling the next few days so I'll check in when possible to see if arci can handle the pressure this time around, and more importantly, how you want to work the data meet.
As far as the meet in Vegas for the data shoot, the best day for us to shoot is on a Sunday. The "impossible" days because of our TV show production schedule are Monday and Friday. We would prefer to shoot on Sunday, and we would drive up on Saturday evening after our show is on the air. I usually need to be here to answer phone calls or to make calls after the show.
Why am I here all the time? Absentee owners usually run into trouble.
How nice of you Alan to just keep trying to make Singer do anything different than spewing insults. You're not going to see any proof of anything, because there probably isn't any. I think Eddie's discription of Singer is probably pretty accurate. I think I'm going to start a new thread and just repost all the Singer insults out of 2600+ posts and emphasize what "not getting into the Diplomat Corps" means.
Alan, we're off in a few minutes. I'll leave it to you to round up these jealous clowns, who "probably" won't give you answers because they "probably" couldn't afford the trip to anywhere anyway. How about I just snap a pic of all of it. I'll even get a foreign homo to pose next to the boxes with a pair of snowshoes in his hands.
But really, it's all just a waste of time. Arci will never send you anything because he knows what I saw. And I don't care what a few poor broke low-roller vp players understand or believe anyway. Just let Eddie stew for a while, let VL feel special as an example out of the "NED" entitlement society as he really pines to be in LV, and let arci keep lying. What's the harm? Just enjoy it! And if you had a life outside of this gambling stuff, you would too :) Me....even though it's fun watching everyone's reactions as my jackpots kept building up into the "intolerable" zone, it's really motivating me to hit more.
Keep an eye this direction. That's me waving bye-bye to all the little people on this forum :) My next visit will be my next vp play date, of course!
Ha! Ask for any kind of proof, and you're "jealous", "stewing" or "broke". You are a pathetic human being.
As for all your insults, there seems to be a pattern. You hate gay people, divorced people, foreigners, cocktail waitresses (no tipping!), black people (an Obama slammer), people with diabetes and the government. Let me speculate again as you do.
Your parents sexually abused you as a child. Now you have a sexual identity issue. You wanted to come out of the closet but it ruined your marriage. Then you flirted with having a sex change operation to try and fit into one of those pretty outfits the cocktail waitresses wear. Unfortunately a black government social worker denied your request for an increase in your "entitlement" which has reduced you to eating low cost junk food and now you're bordering on diabetic. How's that? Thank God your children are old enough and out on their own. I hope they were spared the sexual and emotional abuse you obviously suffered. Were they Rob, or did you get to them first?
Only in your make believe world are you:
1. Smarter than the 4 mathematicians you supposedly hired.
2. Able to win $1 million dollars by not tipping casino staff, quitting while ahead and using your special plays 5% of the time.
3. Able to hit jackpot VP payouts every time you walk into a casino after "very limited play".
4. Expected to be believed just because you said so.
5. Consider yourself an upstanding citizen when you have admitted to "cheating" on your taxes so that you didn't have to pay any taxes on your $1 million dollars.
I think a big indicator of someone with a gambling addiction is that the person only recounts his stories of big wins, and doesn't talk about his losses. In fact "chasing losses" is probably the number one indicator. Hmmm...sound like anyone we know of?
And I will send Alan a "Notice of Assessment" (Revenue Canada) of my last years Income Tax. I don't play VP or gamble nearly as much as the people here, but it will certainly put and end to your claims that I'm broke or jealous! LOL! If I do that will you send in yours or tell Alan how he can log into the casino's website where you've recorded these wins, plug in your player's card number and view your win/loss statement online? That would be impossible to photoshop or alter.
I'm still trying to figure out why a guy who writes under a pseudonym is telling a guy who writes under his own name that I'll need a disguise to show up at the "data meet." Oh yeah, I guess I'm not the best-looking guy in the world -- that would explain it. Wouldn't want my kisser sneaking into the video frames, eh? Rob, that wasn't very nice. Well, maybe I can rustle up a Rob Argentino mask to help out the ladies, but I'll wear a name tag with my name on it. That should keep things photogenic but on the square.
Keep me posted -- I might actually make the excursion to check a "data meet" out.
I just invested in a swell Ron Burgundy outfit -- dressy maroon cords and a faux leather 70's jacket. I'm ready for the newsroom, baby. And I'll bring a Speedo for the pool-side shots.
P.S. I want everybody to be nice to Rob from here on or he might not show for the meet. He deserves some consideration, plus I hate blowing 25K in air miles for nothing. Thanks, guys.
P.S.S. Please give me a heads up on the date of the data meet. I need to drop a few pounds to be Speedo-worthy.
It's kind of already been done, a few times, such as this one at videopoker.com. That was 2007 and you'll see that little changes; he's still using the same lame put downs he used a decade ago. But please feel free to do it again; these lists are a handy guide to figuring out when Rob's using a new alias.
Many of you might be interested in reading this article; Online trolls are everyday sadists so you know a little more about what you are dealing with. You can never argue with a troll, reason with a troll, or expect honest answers from a troll so there isn't any point in trying. He'll say anything in his perverse quest to try and get a rise out of you so if you really want to have an impact don't say anything at all...
Of course everyone should still feel free to point out inconsistencies in his postings. He just loves when you do that as you can see by the way he goes ballistic whenever he is questioned and lashes out at everyone who doesn't bow down before him. Notice too that he'll evade answering anything he can't come up with an excuse for: we're still waiting for an explanation about the progressive deuces royal. That's another Singer trade secret: ignore anything "uncomfortable" for long enough and most people will forget about it.
He's avoided presenting any kind of proof for more than a decade with some of the lamest excuses known to man so trying to get some now is an exercise in futility. There is a simple reason why he won't provide proof and all of you know it: you can't prove something that isn't true. He can tell all the stories he likes but if he could have actually proven anything he would have done it long ago. Rest assured that there are very few people who believe him anyway, and odds are that as his claims become more and more unlikely so does the possibility that the "proof" of what is actually going on will show up, at a time when he least expects it. Its happened before and it will again; its only a matter of time.
And a question for Alan: You say you believe Rob's latest wins because he plays at high denominations so it isn't unusual that he gets those large wins. And you know he plays at those denominations because...????????? If your answer is "because he gets such huge wins" or "because he says he does" you might want to double check your logic.
1. So you admit you are a criminal ... not that anyone suspected otherwise. Since you've already confessed to your crimes it makes no difference whether you post the numbers or not. So, post them already. You have my permission. Back up your claims, little man.
2. Like I said, mine is ready to go. All you have to do is agree to the years. How about 2004, 2007, 2010?
3. What about those documents. Send them to me and I will scan them in for everyone to assess. Now that you admit you have them it shouldn't be a problem. You know where I live.
Spock: I believe it is possible that he had the huge wins but I don't believe it is possible that he had all of those big wins by just playing the limited amount of time he claimed to have played. And that is what I have been questioning him about: just how much has he been playing?
Now if he says, "gee Alan, the wife has been out of town and I've been playing 30 hours a week" then yes, hitting so many big wins starts to make sense. But if he is sticking to his claims that he dropped into the casino for a half hour on Tuesday night then I have my doubts.
I also would like to see an explanation about the deuces wild win since I never recalled Rob ever talking about playing deuces, and it would really be "magical" if the one time he decides to play he hits a progressive royal.
Alan, what do you think of my idea of having him walk you through a casino website with his players card number to view online his win/loss statements? Nobody has to mail anything. He can't photoshop anything. He can even do it over the phone.
I know you can view win/loss statements online on most casino websites, especially at this time of year. Wouldn't that show his purported wins? It would also show his "coin-in" and give us idea of how much he is really playing.
Something I meant to ask him before the insults started flying was this. He claims that when he hit the 50K and 100K winners, he started with a $10,000 bankroll. He had progressed to the top denomination of $25 which I assume was because he had lost a specified amount at the lower denominations. That would mean that he had less than the $10,000 starting amount, no?
Well, he must have been REALLY lucky to hit those big jackpot hands because at $125 per hand, he couldn't have had that many hands left. Even if he started with the full $10,000 at a $25 machine, that's only 80 hands. Even with pushes, and small wins isn't it quite common to be down the dollar value of 80 hands quite quickly?
That seems reasonable, but his stated record of big wins on short play is extremely long and goes back years, like this one from April of 2010:
Not only does it sound almost exactly the same as some of what he's posted in the past couple of days, it's got all his talking points; huge wins in a short time, knocks against the reality based VP community, and Robs glee when he believes he's causing others pain. I have a feeling you won't find him recanting that any time soon.Quote:
"One of the strangest things is I've seen three $2 royals in the past 3 weeks, and I haven't played more than 4 total hours! That's a tough pill to swallow for the math people and for my haters, but it just makes the whole thing that much sweeter!"
Here is an interesting question for you, and everyone else as well; how many times have you walked into a casino and hit a phenomenal win in your first 10 minutes? How about how many times have you seen someone else sit next to you and do the same? I've never seen either one, but few will be surprised to find out that Rob has claimed all of the following during his "retirement" play.
"I hit a dollar royal on my 4th hand of 6/5 BP after losing my first three."
"I only played ten minutes and hit a bottom line royal"
"Last night at Fandango I was also dealt my 3rd ever, (royal), on $2.
Wasn't there more than 10 minutes"
"Two hands in I was dealt AhKhQhJh10d. She was really into this now and told me to hold the straight. After I giggled and explained the hand to her, the ol' fifth card flip-over popped up again and I had a $2k royal"
And that was just some of the short ones: it would take forever to compile all the wins he claimed that were hit in less than a half hour, and even more if we include all the non-jackpot but highly unusual posts as well such as this one which might be of interest to those who were asking about Rob and DW.
That previous example of the 50 cent heart royal is interesting for another reason as well: the various stories surrounding it have changed a few times. You can read the initial report here, and in this version it was a 50 cent royal. A year later, in this VPFree post, the amount has been changed to a dollar, and there are variations in other aspects of the story as well.
Amazingly, there appears to be yet a 3rd portion to this as well. In this LVA post by BAGiant (Bob), Bob relates a text from Rob he received that showed a 50 cent heart royal that Rob claimed he hit at the Silverton. Rob was posting all his wins here, and never mentioned a 50 cent royal at the Silverton during that time period, however a few weeks later he did write:
He wrote he hit a 50 cent royal at the pizza shop, and then he texted Bob he hit a 50 cent royal at Silverton, both of which were hearts and both of which were in September. I have no idea what excuse he's going to use for this, (I just know he will have one because he always does), but the fact that both were reported as being hearts brings up the possibility he was "double dipping" on that royal, assuming he hit one at all.Quote:
I don't play very often any more but I do have 2 royals ($1 & 50c) in Sept. in maybe 1000 hands.
And it is situations such as these that make me question everything Rob posts. It's a rare event when everything surrounding Rob's claim of a win is "clean", and that coupled with a win rate that defies common sense and a complete refusal to provide definitive proof of even one win should make every reasonable person skeptical.
