Fascination With "LGBT" Examined & Explained

If you're like the majority of people in this country, you're beginning to get sick and tired of all this LGBT stuff being shoved into our faces. These people represent a tiny fraction of our population (thankfully!) yet where in the media can we go that isn't saturated with the entitlements these people believe they should be handed, and what new TV show doesn't have homos, lesbians, or other odd couples as part of their plot?

My take on all this is from a common sense point of view. I grew up with one of my best friends being retarded (yes, that's the explanatory term from back then, and it wasn't considered bigoted). People like him deserve to be respected also, just like the rest of us. It's not their fault they're the way they are.

Well, gay & lesbian people obviously choose to be different, but it isn't their fault either. The same way a retard is a bit off, so too are these people. When someone's idealogy & philosophy takes them on a different course than biological & physiological science, there's a chemical imbalance happening somewhere folks. A "screw loose" in layman's terms.

But do they deserve humiliation because of their problem? Absolutely not. Just as with my retarded friend, we should all show them the same respect we ourselves want. Where these people cross the line however, is two-fold: first, no one likes or needs to be lectured by a phoney lithpy-voiced, fairy with a sickening designer delivery. Us normal people could very well do without that baloney. Then, while ANY two people who choose to be partners in life should be afforded similar civil benefits under the exact same policies, there is no logical reason or reasoning why gay people should be married or ever be recognized as married. It makes zero sense, it goes against most if not all religious beliefs, and it has no science behind it at all.

What about people who choose to be "bi-sexual"? As the least offensive subject in the LGBT dictionary, it's really mostly an exploratory issue among the young. I mean, if you're a man who loves women for their softness, smoothness and femininity, do you REALLY want to start fondling a guy's stinky, sweaty, smelly, hairy butt instead?

Lastly, we're at the true weirdos in our society: transgenders or whatever they call them. Here's a flash, Bruce Jenner etc.: if you're born a man then you will never be a woman. Ever. Plain & simple. Sure, you can make believe, cut off genitals, take estrogens, and play dress-up all to you're misguided heart's intent. But who you are will never change. And to the others? Ladies, do you REALLY want someone trolling your public restrooms with other than the natural equipment you have? It's sick, yes.

So welcome to whatever messed up liberal world we now have to tolerate. This nonsense won't last forever. I just hope it gets back to normal in my lifetime so my grandchildren won't have to forever be subjected to the same crap.

I do want to say that I once worked at a TV station where many of the managers were open about being Gay and other Gay men and women were hired. It also meant more news coverage of Gay events -- more than what other TV stations did.

That's troubling too. But at least there's a young person here who understands what's going on these days.

Rob, although this is not new, as I found out after googling it, I have only recently heard of this, when a 13 year old that my daughter knows changed "her" name and became a pansexual. It's my understanding that "she" does not consider herself male nor female.

One who can love sexuality in many forms. Like bisexuality, but even more fluid, a pansexual person can love not only the traditional male and female genders, but also transgendered, androgynous, and gender fluid people.

I read about this term a few weeks ago when Miley Cyrus claimed to be one. Just another weird state of mind that's become common these days. They can love or say they love whomever they want. Regardless, a male is a male and a female is a female. Forever.

I guess I am living under a rock. I just learned the word "pansexual" from Chimp's post. Had you asked me yesterday what "pansexual" was, I would have said having sex in the kitchen.

Rob, you're correct that genetically a male is a male and a female is a female forever. But it stops with the DNA. If a man wants to think like a woman, and a woman wants to think like a man, and if their minds and souls make them feel that way, who are we to judge?

What's most important is that all people should be good to others. No one should impose their will on others who have a different lifestyle.

"No one should impose their will" is absolutely right and is the key point to this thread.

I have no concern if people choose to act or think alternatively, whether it be gay, transgender, this pansexual or whatever. To me much of it is attention-seeking once we get beyond their civil rights issues.

But what we DON'T need is these people shoving their lifestyle choices down our throats, acting as if we care or have to care. Why all the new TV shows featuring gay lovers when they make up such a tiny portion of the population? Who cares one bit about a weirdo like Bruce Jenner, yet even the politicians are coming out and saying they "support" what this moron did to his body. Just shut up when it comes to the freaks in this world. Let us just be able to close our eyes to something as odd and offensive as this and let it pass.

Simple answer: there are a lot of Gays working in the arts and in media.

Just like a lot of straight men work in construction.

I am a gay man. And not surprisingly, I disagree with some of your assertions about me and people like me.

At no point did I choose to be different. I just was different. What I did choose was to accept myself for who I am, and live my life in accordance with who I am.

As for marriage, I agree that any two consenting adults who wish to enter a partnership should be afforded the same rights and responsibilities as anyone else. I do not understand the desire to create separate (but equal!) options of the civil union and the marriage. If the objection is that marriage is a special word used for a religious rite, then we should simply go to civil unions for all. To say that marriage for people like me makes no sense, but somehow marriage for people like you makes sense ... well ... that makes no sense to me.

As for bisexuals, they do actually exist. Yes, there are a fair number of people who identify as bisexual at one stage in their life, and then later identify as gay or straight. However, there are people who are attracted to people of both sexes.

As for trans poeple, I think it's important to note that more straight, white, male Republicans have been arrested for inappropriate behavior in bathrooms than trans people.

You're right that all of the fighting is about the use of the word "marriage" or "married." I also think a "marriage" is between a man and a woman but the Supreme Court struck down that belief because it violates the rights of non man/woman couples.

So maybe your idea will work: "civil unions" should be the word for recognized relationships by government and "marriage" can be used for man/woman unions.

Apples & oranges. The men in construction aren't trying to force a thing upon us. The homos & lesbians in the media work overtime to push their very minority, alternative, and to vast majority very offensive, lifestyle choices & agenda on a public who mostly doesn't want it.

OF COURSE the only sensible course is to have civil unions for gays rather than tarnish what marriage is all about--and that is having a mother and a father. It's always interesting to see gays claim "oh gee whiz, I was made this way--it wasn't my choice!" Most people aren't bedazzled by that foolishness. Every gay I know has some type of problem they were never able to deal with when it comes to interaction with the opposite sex, so they took the easy escape route and made a choice to be different. Suddenly, as has been shown so many times on TV and we'he all seen it in person, a gay man is WELCOMED WITH OPEN ARMS by females now that the stress of sexual attraction has been artificially removed from the equation. And the woman now sees no pressure coming from the newly lithpy-voiced fairy. The easy way out, and because something is obviously out of whack in the guy's brain, we should do what we can to make him comfortable with his choice.

It makes as much sense for gays to get married as it does straights. Realize that we gays can also have families.

I can't speak to the experiences of they gays you know, but I can speak to mine. I never had any issues interacting with the opposite sex. I still have no issues interacting with women. I never made a choice to be different, and I never had the sort of experiences that you insist drive us to this choice. I have never been attracted to women. In fact, my first crush I had on a boy was in 1st grade. I was gay well before I understood what it meant and well before I knew that there were other people like me.

And, yes, most women are very comfortable around us because we're not acting all creepy toward them.

Marriage is just nonsensical intrusion by a third party that has no business in the two individuals personal life.

Gays can also have a MAKESHIFT family of some sort. That's why normal people who care have no problem with civil unions and the respect that goes with them. Why you people say you want to be "married" has no basis in common sense. And every justification you now come up with about crushes etc. are only your argument today for being different.

jbjb, I imagine with your lifestyle of going to smelly, smoky casinos all the time precludes any decent woman from bothering with you. I have no idea what you're getting at by mentioning a 3rd party.

My wife had our children. Who had yours?

People who adopt children do a good thing....if they can't have them. Adopting them into a family with no mother and father is like a big slap in the face to the children. IE, they could do better.

You did a wonderful thing here.

But this is perhaps the most controversial part about Gay marriages and Gay relationships: having children.

Clearly it is better for a child to have loving parents even if they are same sex parents than to be without a home or in a home where they will be mistreated or lacking love and care.

I have to ask 1in11 this: how will you raise your child and how will you explain to your child how your child has same sex parents and how other children have families with a mom and a dad?

You said you had a crush on boys in the 1st grade. You probably still do. Someday your "daughter" will realize this if she's normal and without any misplaced genes floating around. Then she'll have to constantly explain to all the kids why her mother is some fairy. And think about what an embarrassment it'll be for her when she has her 1st period (do you know what that is?) at home and there's no real woman to work thru it with her. Absolutely selfish and despicable from A to Z. You people never think before you act. Lucky for you and unlucky for the daughter, at this moment in time the liberal T-O-L-E-R-A-N-C-E is in place.

Just wanted to mention some information that may upset both sides of the fence.

(1) Last time I discussed number of sexes with physical anthropologists, the answer was not two. There are at least, chromosome-wise and physically, half a dozen different sexes. Some are rare, some are not so rare.

(2) People making the "Born this way" argument tend to ignore the research that shows that other animals, when subjected to various cases of increased stress, demonstrate increasingly "gay" behaviors. This kind of research isn't done as much now since it is politically incorrect. The original studies I recall reading weren't about subjecting animals to stress to see if they behaved in a gay fashion. Rather, the same-sex mating increases were noted when animals were subjected to increased crowding and noise stress and other stressors. Are these results applicable to humans? That seems a reasonable question, and one that never gets asked.

There's no question that physico-chemical makeup, which is partly determined by genetics, has some effect on behavior. But assigning one's biological profile as the primary variable determinant of "gay" behaviors is quite a stretch and seems more political than scientific.

P.S. I've never understood, other than as a political ploy for leverage, why anyone would want to assert that he or she is gay by birth as opposed to gay by choice. Why is one more palatable than the other? If I were gay, I wouldn't want my biology blamed for my behavior. I'd rather thumb my nose at the straight world by choice.

No one could have any idea why he doesn't want to mate or have sex. And since horses can't communicate then we will never know.

All these queers who like to proclaim to have been "born" warped do so because they're hiding from the truth. Science doesn't lie--if you're born a male then you want a woman. Take a good look and listen to the homos. Most of them talk funny, they act weird, and a great majority of them are sickening to be around. Still, I'm a believer in that they all deserve the chances in life we all have. We just could do without all their trying to shove their odd lifestyles down our throats. They ought to be thankful the US isn't like Russia or the Muslim countries.
