Ownership change - "The Forum @ Alan Best Buys" is now "Vegas Casino Talk"

This forum is under new ownership.

The new owner is me.

It has been rebranded, and the domain has changed, but other than that most things will remain the same.

The new site is called "Vegas Casino Talk", and the URL is vegascasinotalk.com. You should already be there (look at your URL bar).

Alan will no longer be an administrator, but he will remain as a user of the forum. I will be the only admin here.

The rules and atmosphere will remain basically the same.

The structure of the forum will also remain mostly the same, and all existing threads and messages will be preserved.

It will mostly be the same site, but under a new name and owner.

Your accounts at vegascasinotalk.com/forum will work on the new site without any further action on your part. You will get automatically redirected.

As I have already been the administrator here for the past 2 1/2 years, there won't be any new people with access to your e-mail or IP.

I have consolidated a lot of the barely-used subforums. However, no messages or threads have been deleted. I just felt that more discussion will take place if there are fewer subforums here.

Yes, Rob Singer will still be allowed to post here.

Post any questions for me and I'll try to answer them.

That's pretty funny. But no rental is involved. The forum and the content is now Dan's.

I want everyone to know that this change in the forum has no effect on my main website www.AlanBestBuys.com or on my other websites including www.AlanMendelson.TV and www.BestBuysOnRealEstate.com and www.VegasBestBuys.com which currently points to AlanBestBuys.com. Also, this change in the forum has no effect on my weekly TV show or on my Infomercial business.

Phase 1 of the switchover is complete.

RIP Forum @ Alanbestbuys. It was a good run.

You may not yet realize it, but you're already on the new site. Look up at the URL, and you'll see that you are on vegascasinotalk.com.

The biggest change you will find (at least for right now) is the subforums.

Prior to tonight, there was this Las Vegas forum (by far the most active, and also served as the general forum), the California Casinos forum (semi-active), the Open Forum (active on and off), and about 10 other forums which were barely used. I have consolidated those, and have also added two forums so this one is a bit less cluttered.

The new forum structure is:

Las Vegas - same as before, except Total Rewards/MLife discussion and Sports/Sportsbetting discussion will take place elsewhere (see below)

California Casinos - same as before

Eastern US Casinos - new forum. We'll see if there's interest

Total Rewards & MLife - new forum to discuss these two mega rewards programs. I won't move every old thread from here (it will be too time consuming), but I'll move some, and this will be the place to discuss these subjects.

Sports & Sportsbetting - new forum

Whatever's On Your Mind - Renamed "Open Forum", and various other small subforums (charity, restaurants, tech talk, garage sales) have been consolidated into this one

Money, Shopping, Real Estate, Investing - Consolidated subforums Money Tips, Shopping Tips, Real Estate, and Stock Market Investing into one

Moves, Media, and Television - Consolidated subforums Movies and Media into this one

So what about the various bickering between Rob Singer and everyone else?

I'd prefer that takes place in the "Whatever's On Your Mind" forum, unless it specifically has to do with gambling. I am hoping that this forum can become a place where people go for quality information on Vegas and the various rewards programs, and people can't really do that if the Las Vegas forum is dominated by trolling and fighting.

We'll see how it goes.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Glad to see a new owner....seemed like Alan didn't want to continue administrating(?) the forum. Congrats to both involved.

I'm curious as to how much Dan bought the forum for -- of course, I understand either of you may object to saying how much it was sold for, but if neither mind -- how much $$$ did Alan make off this?

Using Shackleford's Wizard of Odds sale as a guideline, I would have to guess Dan bought the Best Buys forum from Alan for $2.35 million. Alan will now be showing us $400,000 royal flush jackpots from $100 VP machines as a result!

Thanks Dan for being able to continue covering the costs to maintain the site that Alan has maintained over the last few years.

Great job on the migration process. The title of the site and forum seems more fitting.

I would say Alan still deserves to be an Administrator here.

Dan has great ideas and I think he is moving ahead nicely. Honestly guys, this forum took up too much time and got me zero in terms of a financial return. I am now concentrating on my main website and already today I've added half a dozen articles and updated pages that I have ignored for more than four years (there are more than 400 pages on the site). There are pages about Las Vegas and gaming on alanbestbuys.com that I haven't updated since 2012 -- and they've gotta be fixed.

Also, I spent too much time here regarding some posters and that took away from my TV business and kept me locked-up at my computer when I could have been relaxing or doing something fun outside.

And besides all that -- a new season of The Walking Dead has started and besides my own TV shows, that's one show I always watch. LOL
