I'm scratching my head over this: I don't understand why it's important for anyone's true name or identity to be established here?

Unless someone is selling something (like a doctor, lawyer, investment counselor, purveyor of sports betting information, teacher of dice control) why is it important what their name really is?

What is most important is what information they are providing.

I'm going to repeat that: what is most important is what information they are providing.

If forum member XXXXXX is telling us about great promotions, he is more valuable that forum member ZZZZZZ who keeps telling us how wonderful he is and how much he's winning.

Forum member XXXXXX who shares helpful information is the Rose.

I completely agree. An anonymous message board means.....anonymous. There are many reasons why people post anonymous. The "AP" situation is just one such reason. Well, I'm not technically an "AP," because sports bettors usually don't define themselves that way. But since Rob tends to lump me, I'll take a bow. I wrote a wonderful summary of how to scout Las Vegas sports books for futures in the Sports Threads. You can't get that kind of run-down from anyone, basically. Fezzik or Dancer or Shackleford couldn't have written that.

You got comprehensive, accurate information from a unique source. Seems to me that's more valuable than the voodoo blatherings from the non-APs. Am I wrong?

I generally find great value in contributions by APs, when we are allowed to share our experiences in a constructive atmosphere. I learn from experiences and mistakes. Constructive forums allow me to learn from other players mistakes and experiences. Unfortunately this is not a constructive atmosphere or forum. On this site, all APs can do is defend themselves from attacks.

I find it curious that several times you have rebuked the "AP" label. You certainly are within your right to refuse such a label if for whatever reason, you don't care for it. But to me anyone who finds a way to win over the longterm, playing a negative expectation game or event like sportsbetting, is an AP. While I may not understand how you or others (machine players like Mickey) do it, you are clearly playing at an advantage. That makes you an AP and part of the "family" even if you chose not to identify. It also is why you are subject to the same anti-AP attacks of the "anti-AP fellowship" of this site.

I appreciate information that you share like your recent "LV sports book for futures" thread. It's an opportunity for me to learn. :)

The main thing is, he doesn't even believe most of what he types. It's all just some bitter entertainment for him. I did get a little insight into him this week. He says he was a VP at Northrup. Well, given his current standard of living, that suggests he blew a naval shipyard (that's more than your standard boatload) gambling.

Rob keeps addressing his audience in these posts as if he's one of "we." That people agree with him and understand where's he's coming from. I suggest starting a thread to invite any and all of the site's silent majority to chime in on their take on Rob. Does anybody actually think he's, shall we say, lying only half the time? That would be a worthwhile poll.

All I was saying, Rob, is that if you were a VP at Northrop, then either you made a ridiculous amount less than Boeing VP's, or you must have blown a ton of money gambling. Now I don't know which it is, but if you want to educate me, be my guest.

I don't get the hatred for www.LuxBusAmerica.com. Am I supposed to be embarrassed? It costs about as much as a flight from Anaheim, it takes about the same amount of time, and I always have two seats to myself with wifi, so I can work. It's actually smoother working-wise than going through airport security and takeoff and all that.

It finally occurred to me -- Rob must go on about his pension because he blew his year-to-year salary. This goes back to arci's projection theory. Rob has some deep-rooted fear of having to handle his own money because he never handled it well. I hate pop psychology, but it does make a lot of sense. And it all ties in with Rob's addiction lectures. Rob recognizes his own addiction.

Rob obsesses about his pension, and the possible lack of other's pensions, because he blew his salary year after year and he doesn't trust himself to be hands-on with his lifelong earnings.

That's a reasonable hypothesis. It would also explain Rob never sending Alan his taxes. It would explain his bankruptcy.

Just a theory, though.

Swimming sounds like a great idea Harry....make sure you have plenty of sardines on hand for the Mrs. while she`s frolicking around...and for God`s sake, don`t dress her in a black and white swim suit :)

My spouse is in his mid 50's and that means I have attended concerts by Vincent Furnier (Alice Cooper) and Michael Lee Aday (Meatloaf), twice each, as well as a Guns and Roses and Neil Diamond concert. It almost scares me that our Sundays seem close to identical. My spouse and brother and I just returned from an early brunch. Breakfast to me, but the casinos insist on calling it brunch so they can charge more. We have friends, relatives and neighbors coming over to watch football by and in the pool, including my favorite "darksider" pit friend. :) My TV is only 75" so you can claim victory on that, you size queen. My pool isn't heated, but the hot tub is. As a matter of fact, I purchased a cooling system for the pool this summer, to keep the temps down, to an enjoyable temperature. Surprisingly less than a dollar a day to operate.

Hopefully the Eagles will crush the Giants and then my biggest worries of the day will be tolerating my Mothers new Beau, who I am having a hard time warming up to and convincing my brother to grill the steaks. He actually enjoys doing so, but likes to make it seem like a favor. :)

The queasy thing is, as I have said, I posted this before so Rob evidently knows this and posts his garbage anyway. When blackhole posted regarding his current cancer treatments, I responded with posts detailing what we went through.

Rob evidently enjoys this kind of thing. It doesn't really bother me, as I have a pretty good handle on how worthless Rob is, but I would hope he would treat other people better.

If he said this to someone else, I would recommend banning him, as he has a long history of this with arci's wife and now mine. It does not make for a pretty or humane forum. In fact, it is stomach churning to allow someone like this to even participate.

Having known of your wife's passing 15 years ago, because you shared that with me recently, it completely disgusted me each and every time Rob has made such a comment. Maybe it me, but I am not viewing these protest the same as you and mickey are. I haven't seen any indication of anyone's protesting being directed at the current military or veterans. I was under the impression these protests were about calling attention to perceived unjust domestic actions and policies in the hopes of change.

And because protests are one of our fundamental rights as Americans, I view these protesters as in a way "honoring" our military and veterans, for us all having that right to protest. Agree or disagree with what is being protested, military and veterans should take pride in that they protected our way of life and the freedom that we all enjoy, including the right to protest, even protest dumb things.

There are other ways to protest besides dishonoring our flag.

If the NFL players really want to protest, why don't they refuse to suit up and sacrifice their pay? That would be a significant protest.

Seeing millionaires on one knee doesn't tell me they're serious.

Points taken. My perspective is, I don't watch sports (IMO neither does the vast majority) to see this endless activism. Professional players have very large audiences. Again IMO, players should say and do all they want on their own time. I fail to see what the point is to take a knee during the national anthem with the giant field covering flag waving. Seriously what is the point of this silent protest? Wouldn't they be better served holding weekly press conferences where they can speak the issues and be heard?

No, I don't believe their intentions are to disrespect the military or the flag, but to a lot of people that is what they are doing. That is why I believe talking about issues is better than silent protestations.

If the NFL starts seeing less profits for too long (I hear attendances are down) this will end. Time will tell.

Did you see where Pittsburgh player Alejandro Villanueva defied the steelers' Anthem protest? He's the only Vet on the team and only player to come out for anthem.

I completely concur, dannyj. I am a big sports guy. I would much prefer not to see any such activism of this nature. I would prefer not to even know that a player or coach or owner supported such and such a candidate as we frequently know. That has nothing to do with why I am tuning in to watch a football or basketball game.

It just strikes me as odd that some people, and I am talking more of media people than you, want to turn it into disrespecting the military or veterans. I just don't see that at all. I am not aware of attendance being down? We are only in week 3? But it wouldn't surprise me. I completely concur, dannyj. I am a big sports guy. I would much prefer not to see any such activism of this nature. I would prefer not to even know that a player or coach or owner supported such and such a candidate as we frequently know. That has nothing to do with why I am tuning in to watch a football or basketball game.

KJ, you are absolutely right...no one gives a shit about either of these teams out here...all the people I associate with,and myself. are huge sports fans, and not one person was even a tiny bit excited about either of these teams coming here...no one wants another cities recycled trash team....the only way, in my opinion, an NFL team would get support here is if was a brand new expansion team....even the Raiders, with the millions of illegal alien fans they have here won`t fly.....L.A. is a great sports town...the Dodgers sell out every game...so do the Lakers...USC draws big...even the Kings and Ducks sell out and have a rabid fan base.

And, viewership from San Diego to watch the chargers undoubtedly is way down. Being from San Diego and still having many friends and family down there I know firsthand that many have turned their back's on the team and will no longer watch, aside from all the activism going on by the players.

living in Oregon now I was all set to watch the chargers play at 1:25 yesterday. That was the regional game on CBS for those who live on the West Coast. A few minutes after the opening kick off the TV screen went blank and the game was switched to the Bengals/Packers game. That pissed me off and made no sense, at that point I join my wife outside and stop watching.

There's two types of black people in this country. One group consists of the overwhelming majority of them, and these are good, decent, and honorable people. The others are just plain stupid ni*****, who disrespect our country, our flag, and our service men & women. They hate the system because so many of their "bros" are locked up for committing crimes, as they should be, but not as these "protesters" want them to be. Black lives don't matter any more or less than anybody else's. But these people were all brainwashed by the Obama years, where they felt "entitled". It'll take a while for that racist attitude to wear off, but it will wear off.

Trump as usual is 100% right--these NBA & NFL thugs and punks should be told to stand since they all a part of a respectable business--or fire their asses on the spot. Dollars to doughnuts 80%-90% of them end up in prison without their millions.

I have no problem eliminating the anthems. It's irritating at hockey games/baseball games in Canada etc. anyway when they play two of them. Just an FYI. Tillman's family condemned his name being dragged into this and the supposition that he would have objected to this form of protest as he lost his life fighting to protect such rights of protest and free speech.

I honestly don't know about the Tebow thing. If you dig up any information on that, please let me know. The military, circa 2015, was paying teams 10 or 15 million dollars for "patriotic displays" before games. Basically paid advertising for the military. I remember John McCain complaining that the DOD spent at least 10 million and there was no paper trail for big chunks, so he was kind of against it without better accounting.

I feel like the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines all have their own flags, so if people were to diss those flags, it could be construed as anti-military. But the US flag is not a military flag, so a protestation of the US flag is showing minimal disrespect to the armed services because what one see when one looks at a US flag is personal and idiosyncratic. One person sees a military icon representing hundreds of thousands of lives lost to preserve the values of the United States. Another sees an icon representing hundreds of thousands of black lives lost to slavery that created the financial backbone of the United States. Both views are valid.

I don't exactly remember Tebow's deal, I thought he was fined or flagged for kneeling in celebration after a score. I could be wrong.

Regarding the "two faced owners", the greatest hypocrisy that I recall was when Seattles' coach Pete Carroll, (although not an owner) had Kapernick in for a tryout. He didn't sign him, but said afterwards, he's a starter in this league. So...he's good enough to be a starter in the NFL but not good enough to beat out your no-name back up to Russell Wilson.
