But on a serious side, I really like Eliot. I meant everything I said about him, and his books. He’s one of the good guys in the AP community, and he doesn’t feel the need to bash casinos.
Casinos aren’t the bad guy. They are a business, just doing what they are supposed to do...providing negative EV games for the purpose of entertainment and kicking out APs, like me, who try to play them the way they were not intended to be played, meaning in a positive EV way.
I will never blame a casino for doing what I’d do if I was in their shoes.
I don't blame the casinos for changing odds, pay tables or even backing off Pros. However, I do blame casinos for illegally detaining Advantage Players, cheating players in some cases, not honoring their own promotions after the fact, and other dirty tricks they pull.Quote:

Any business, open to the public and offering a service, should not be able to pick and choose its customers. The only exception to this would be the customers wanting something specific that the business doesn't offer. Most gamblers, AP or not, are not asking casinos for any special treatment. I say most because there's Iveys and Johnsons out there that did get this "special treatment." In my book, they should have been denied those specifications they asked for.

In my next of the woods, I haven’t heard or seen APs being illegally detained, I haven’t seen cheating by casinos, I haven’t seen casinos not honor promotions, and I haven’t seen them pull dirty tricks. The fact is casinos have to be given the option of "picking" their customers or they would not be able to offer games that can be beat. It's that simple. If casinos would offer the juicy blackjack games all APs cry about with a cut card way back and not take any action against an AP, that casino would be run over by APs and out of business.
This, in fact, happened in Korea I think back in the 70 or 80s. Munchkin mentioned it on one of his GWAE podcast. He said APs would come into the casino and camp out at tables and go from table min to table max, and it was against the law for the casinos to do anything about it. Munchkin said you could see that wouldn't last long, and it didn't. The government had to change their laws, or they would have had to start subsidizing casinos.
Common sense tells you casinos have to have the option to back off APs or that wouldn't be able to offer games that can be beat. This is something a lot of APs struggle to understand. Arnold Snyder gets it. He does a good job explaining this in some of his books. He gets it probably as well as any person in his position. Even Don Johnson recongized casinos have to be able to back off APs
That's why Snyder has always said the key is being able to get away with it...it is not learning the math behind it. He's said something like he'd rather teach an actor to count, rather than a math nerd to act. Point being acting and getting away with it is more important than learning the skills to do it.
If an AP can't understand that then they shouldn't be doing this. Or they could just go to some gambling forum and form a grip group and complain about casinos, which is what a lot of them do. Lol.

I don't think it's the exception to the rule when it comes to Advantage players, especially when you Target many promotions. If you're talking and bulk numbers, of course it's probably going to be exception and not the rule. I mean there's hundreds of Advantage Players making hundreds of Advantage plays without a problem. Unfortunately, once you start to get into some serious money, especially when it comes to Promotions the s*** goes down. Let's not forget oftentimes the exception to the rule is significant enough to affect someone considerably. Imagine losing 20,000 expecting to get back 80K and they try to f*** you.
I can't even count the number of times casinos have tried to withhold rightfully earned money, renege, back out, dishonor something, lie, cheat or steal from me.
Out of all the times I've had to call gaming, I believe I was only ruled against 2 times out of like 30. Each time I called... it had something to do with one of the things I mentioned above. If Gaming is ruling your favor... that clearly means the casino did something wrong in the first place.
One of the times when gaming actually ruled against me and my girlfriend, we where clearly in the right, considering the owner of the establishment made a deal with me. And, Per his instructions he had an employee sign a paper with the terms I clearly stated before I would continue on. They backed out when they realize the huge mistake they made and I was one away from the honey pot. I get the fact that Gaming wasn't going to allow me to bankrupt the place, however, they should have refunded the money that I lost while leveling up on their promise to pay once I hit that level(it was over ten Grand). I probably would have won the case with gaming if I took it further, but I just said f*** it since it seemed gaming was already angry with me, also, I really didn't want to put her my girlfriend through all of that.
There was a real chickenshit move a casino pulled on someone that cost them thousands(I can't remember the exact number anymore), luckily it wasn't me, but I was there, I'm not even sure if that person was an Advantage Player, I was too focused on what I was doing.
They had a Saint Patrick's Day promotion that required you to wear a green shirt the time of completion in order to receive the bonus. The casino denied the person their bonus because they claim her shirt was not the correct color of green. Perhaps they claimed it was technically aquamarine, Olive or some b******* like that.

As far as what I said about Cooking with Cards, what do I need to apologize for? I didn’t say anything bad about her. I just said it looked like she was flirting with you. How do you know it’s not true? Are you saying someone can’t have an opinion on a forum?
What if I loged onto blackjack info and apologize to her for saying I think she’s flirting with you, and she replies back that she was? What are you going to say then? I don’t want to put you in an awkward spot so I think it’s best if we let it die.
She IS obviously flirtng with Bosox. Something is very fishy. Seems like something is going on when I read those 2 bantering back and forth.
