Have to hand it to coach belly there.
Dancing around to justify stiffing a charity. A new low. I'm bummed
Redietz didn't lose.
The INTENT of the bet was to make the point that the Average Joe, someone without comp points, could not snag the room at a real, out of pocket cash rate of less than fifty bucks.
It is ridiculous to claim victory by using a comp.
Nice try, but no cigar...
It really isn't clear at all and Mickey seems to have done this in good faith. Redietz could have simply excluded comps. Sure, it is absurd to make the bet on Redietz's side but the guy has some really goofy views that are simply wrong. Why would this one be any different?
He should at least give $100 to the charity given the effort Mickey put into it. If not it says a lot about his actual character.
V, KJ, and Redietz, have been the three biggest gambling forum losers, for a very long time. Even Crimm makes them look just, plain bad. No wonder that they continue to do the circle fuck.
I don't know what they did, or didn't do, otherwise, but, judging from their very own inane and vacuous contributions, it couldn't have been much.
All I did, you fucking asshole, was work hard for forty years and retire a reasonably wealthy man, still happily married, with my reputation intact and surrounded by family and friends who value my company: that was and remains my end game.
Posting on gambling forums helps scratch the gambling itch, nothing more.
No, I'm not an AP so I've little to contribute about HOW to gamble.
I like to play negative expectation games and am interested in the shit show which is gambling in America and specifically in sin city.
So yeah, my comments are more critical than informative.
I'm an existentialist: your claptrap barely amuses me.
I've come to grips with the reality of human existence long ago; have you?
Better hurry ...
We haven't seen the ditz's receipt yet, it's likely that he got the room for less than $50.
Here's why...
Without any player's card number entered, the caesars.com room rate calendar for Horseshoe LV shows rooms for under $50 ($32 - $47) on fifteen of the remaining dates in May.
This is for anybody, you don't even need a Rewards card...but the rates would be lower if you do.
Rates vary by room if you want to specify a room type, but if you book a $32 room and get upgraded to room 861 at check-in, like the ditz claims he did, then boom you have your King Executive Suite at under $50.
Big whoop. So easy even a martian can do it.

Sorry boyo, but learning to count without using your fingers just doesn't cut it around here.
All I've done is successfully represent a lot of people who were in a tough spot and needed help.

Fucking math boyz...
What you're writing about is paved with the same thing as the proverbial road. I'm actually heading the other way, right now, to tool up for the next big job. Feels wonderful to lose a bit of weight, and, clear my head. I never sold out, ie, took up the "go along to get along" cliche, and, so, even at 61, I'm still "all you can eat, baby". But, standing by the truth is worth it. It becomes easier, and easier. The bigger the boyo, the harder they fall.

You're taking a lot of license here, V. First of all, it isn't a bet. It's a challenge. Now, take a look at the name of the challenge "Mickey Crimm's Expert Hotel Bargain Challenge." Ditz didn't direct the challenge at "Average Joe." He directed the challenge straight at me. And why did he pick that wording for the title of the thread? He was making fun of me. Ridiculing me. He thought he was rubbing my face in it. He thought he had me by the brazilians. He was having a good laugh, V. But he ain't laughing now, is he? He's giving us the "Hold it! Hold it! Hold it! Wait! Wait! Wait! That's not what I meant!" routine. He fucked up.
Here is what Ditz wrote in the first post of his challenge "Mickey claimed he could snag Room 861 at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas for fifty dollars a night. Since 861 is an Executive Suite King, I have my doubts, but I will donate $200 to him if he can show a receipt demonstrating that he procured that room for that amount. I'm actually hoping that he can, but I doubt it."
V, notice is says "Mickey claimed he could snag Room 861....for fifty dollars a night." I showed I could actually get an Executive Suite King room for free. Which is a lot cheaper than $50.
Then Ditz came with "comps" don't count, after the fact. There was no stipulation that comps don't count in his challenge. Ditz is the one working the loopholes. Do you see how easy it is for him to do it? What if they offered the room for $30 because of my players card status? Ditz could say the same thing "$30 doesn't count. It has to be $50."
Ditz is the one playing all the games here. Quit helping him.
What started all this was said in ditz LV trip thread on GF.. Here is what was said. You can check it yourself.
I said "In other words, you stayed in $50 rooms" and "Ditz you make shit up on the fly. You pay for $50 rooms because you got no clue how to AP the rooms."
ditz said "Of course, saying you can get a room for $50 and doing it are, occasionally, two different things. I'm sure mickey would have no problem showing us all how he could snag that room for fifty dollars. But he won't. Because either he can't or it's, shhhh, wait for it, "an AP secret."
First of all, I never said anywhere that I could get the room for $50. What I did was accuse ditz of staying in a $50 room. 2nd, answering to his challenge, I showed ditz I could get the room for a lot less than $50, i.e., free, shhhh, it's an "an AP secret."
And Coach caught ditz cold with something ditz wrote in his trip report. Ditz booked a cheaper room but then got upgraded to the Executive Suite King at check-in. And Coach showed the prices of the cheaper rooms. I think it was $37 to $52.
So ditz may have stayed in an executive suite but he paid for a jubilee....because....he has always made it a point to show everyone how cheap he is.
Sorry old boy, but the challenge clearly discussed getting the room via paying $50.00 cash, not using comps.
Your analysis does not compute.
ditz has made a big deal out of "staying in a resort executive king suite" like he was in the damn penthouse. In reality the executive kings are the 2nd from the bottom tier of rooms. So if they gave him an upgrade that means he booked the lowest tier room first.
Actually I have a lot of other things to do but posting on these boards amuses me.
Since you said the magic word ("Please") I will give you the quote that started the challenge, and then explain why Redietz did not lose.
The quote: "Mickey claimed he could snag Room 861 at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas for fifty dollars a night. Since 861 is an Executive Suite King, I have my doubts, but I will donate $200 to him if he can show a receipt demonstrating that he procured that room for that amount."
Analysis: To be fair, the challenge by its terms was quite clear: Mickey wins if he shows proof of getting the room for fifty dollars a night.
Apparently Mickey said he could, and Redietz took him up on it.
Mickey used a comp: that is NOT what the challenge was; it did not provide for ANYTHING other than getting it for fifty bucks; not for more, not for less, only for fifty bucks.
Had Mickey not used a comp, and had he gotten a receipt proving he got the room for any price OTHER than fifty bucks he'd have lost the challenge.
The ditz lied right there...""Mickey claimed he could snag Room 861 at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas for fifty dollars a night."...that statement was an outright lie.
I'm not sure that reserving the room and never checking in will generate a receipt for the rate that was reserved. They will charge a no-show fee if you never check in, but it may be the rack rate. That's probably noted in the reservation T&C.Quote:

I'd offer mickey a hundred bucks if he could rustle up a receipt for that room showing he paid fifty bucks. In fact, I'd offer him two hundred."
In post 30 my response was "I would have gotten the room for free, poser pro."
Here's the pic. I'm Diamond so there are no resort fee's. And there is no sales tax on a room that is free. Eat your heart out, ditz.
There is a definite implied suggestion that it is $50 or less. Anytime something is agreed upon like this it would imply $50 or less. If someone gave you $50, you could get the room. That simple. The idea that it has to be $50 exactly is an absurd interpretation which is clearly not the intent.
You give Mickey $50 he can go get the room without spending a penny more.
To be perfectly fair a reasonable outcome would be if Redietz pays $100. Mickey set out in good faith from what I see.
Redietz should do his part and pay up the measly $100.
MisterV's interpretation is really bad TBH. The original post as per Mickey has it ambiguous and not clear.
With MisterV's interpretation the whole thing was a total sham where Mickey couldn't even win. Like he's going to get the room for $50 on the nose? Give us a break.
PS - At this point I'd never make a bet with MisterV.
I concur that it was implied that MC would have won if he paid less than fifty bucks, but therein lies the rub: he has to have actually paid that amount, not used a comp.
Since you opt to consider implied terms, I submit the challenge as framed in Redietz's quote above certainly implied that using a comp to get the room would not meet the challenge.
Really, the challenge got side tracked down the rabbit hole; the question was would the casino ever give the room to anybody, including MC, for fifty bucks (or less)?
Like him or not, Redietz certainly should have known that MC could get a room via comp: the challenge impled no comp would be used.
It is very ambiguous to me with implications that could be used to argue either side. Thats why $100 is a reasonable amount. We'll see if Redietz is a man of class.
If he won't pay it, I can pay it but it will require buying a vanilla gift card I guess. It will take some time as I won't be going out of my way. It is the least we can do for charity to make up for this downright shameful incident.
Nothing ambiguous about a bet. Bets don't involve intent. You mayn't put your chips on one spot, but, after you lose, claim that it was your intent to put them on the other.
Lol at the "essays" by V. Turning full-blown KJ/Redietz.
All that fucking typing, emotion, and, so on, added up to less than zilch.
Whatever.
I made my points, am firm in my opinion and have backed it up.
The only intent that matters is that Redietz has no monetary account here, and, so, the bet was never really on. Beyond that, it would have been a very stupid bet to allow for all manner of loophole. To top it off, he offered his online adversary a free roll. No one who knows KJ, Redietz et al online would have anything other (than ironclad legal contracts, and the money up front) to do with them. He had to make it a free roll to declare Crimm in. Straight-up psychology. Such as their talking about other things for so long that they thought it was time again to re-make the same old nonsensical claims, and bets. LarryS asked the question that anyone with the golden goose would rent it out. Before that, I put a thread up here to get to the bottom of it, but, Lolly Dally Dan was afraid to get at the truth, edited the heck out of it. So, no wonder that Dan, too, kept supporting them.
https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...sports-betting
If I recall - I started off with Redietz' sports company, and the word, scam, in the title, calling it all a scam, but, Dan changed the title, fairly quickly.
Redietz was calling me an asshole or something before the first time he self-promoted here. But, how could shit like that not be a scam of some sort and degree? It's not like you need "investors" to make a sports bet. Helpers, maybe, but not "investors". Looks like Red was more of a helper, of a different sort, than an "investor".
P.S. The more I think about it, it could have been that Dan deleted my first attempt. Dan might recall more. Anyway, the scammers are the first to "call you out" when somebody says something real about it.
Great Mickey, you get the room for free, with no resort fess.
*golf clap*
But that doesn't satisfy the requirements of the challenge Redietz made to you.
BTW, if you think your getting the room comped would make me want to eat my heart out, you're not quite the clever lad I thought you were.
