LineMasters Contest

I gotta give my better half and her competitors in LineMasters a shout-out.

She led for the majority of the competition thus far, but not the last two weeks. The top three are killing it, and there are only about 50 people in the private contest.

So after yesterday, she is 41-19 ATS, which is 68.3%. And in terms of units, which is how LineMasters is graded, she is 144-56, which is 68.5%. And she may or may not be leading come Tuesday! For those who have actually competed in these kinds of things, that is unbelievable. The top three have been steamrolling.

They won't be able to maintain this pace, as the final week will be all NFL, so six games and 21 units must be assigned from one week of the NFL schedule, but I salute them. I have never seen a small private competition with these records at this stage of the year. The closest I've ever seen was about 12 years ago. I went 66-34 in a competition sponsored by a monitor associated with Playbook. It was invitation-only, and there were fewer than 40 people in it. That 66-34 ATS did not win! Frankly, it wasn't really that close to winning. A guy playing mainly Mountain West and WAC college totals annihilated the line -- beat me by about three games, which is fantastic. That was the year I won 17 consecutive ATS games, which I discovered is as rare in actuarial tables as "Death by Reptile." But not good enough. The scary thing was that without those 17 in a row, I was 49-34, which is a fine record to be proud of. I won 17 in a row on top of it, and in a field of 40-some I did not win, or even really come close to winning.

60-0 is possible.

After falling into second place, Karen pulled off that 5-1 games/20-1 units week to take first place again. The top three are killing it. They are 41-19 games and two people 38-22. When I get some time, I will try to do an overall tally of the entire group.

Heading into the final week of LineMasters, Karen is in second place. Top four cash. Anything can happen, but if normalcy occurs, she'll finish second. There is a significant point gap (six) between her and first and between her and third.

One other thing. Telling people they are wrong when they are wrong may, in today's delicate parlance, be considered trolling. But what it is actually doing is educating.

That would be me. Inexperienced compared to the kewljs. Undoubtedly lower IQ than the kewljs. Probably didn't have the SAT scores of the kewljs (tough to get into Villanova, after all). Or maybe not.

Note: I think, for readers, it's important to separate, as I have done a dozen times on this site, those "APs" who restrict themselves to arbitrage, middles shooting, and acquiring bonuses without using other people, and keep them separate from those "APs" who claim other things. The arbitrage, middles-shooting and one-bonus-per-person stuff are legitimate profitable enterprises, if you work 24/7 at them. What I'm criticizing are the idjits who recruit to go wild on bonus sign-ups, ruining it in the long term for those who don't do that kind of thing, and who somehow think they will fly under the radar (until they get their accounts frozen). I'm also talking about the maroons applying the probability of random events to non-random events as if that's a way to make money. I'm also talking about people who think (arbitrage and middles-shooting aside) that "sports betting" is an actual thing -- kind of like answering the question of "What do you do?" with "I'm a coach." When Playboy Magazine ranked party schools back in the 70's, Penn State was not allowed in the rankings because it was supposed to be an amateur listing, and Penn State was considered professional.

Having said that, it's pretty clear kewlJs have no blessed idea what they are talking about. Forbes ranking schools -- based on what? Have you looked at SAT entrance requirements for the schools? No, of course not, because then the kewlJs would have to discuss entrance requirements and SAT scores, and the kewlJs don't know anything about either.

Penn State is top notch in engineering, business, and agriculture. Also not bad in meteorology and sports science. Good, but not necessarily great, psych and anthropology programs. Just okay compared to other Big 10 schools in most other majors. I'm sure the entrance requirements are comparable to Michigan or Ohio State. Probably better than Indiana and Wisconsin.

I hope people reading this get the gist. As with blackjack, what the kewlJs actually wrote here is straight out of a book or website, as opposed to having some natural knowledge from living in Pennsylvania, choosing a college in Pennsylvania, or actually going to one of those colleges. I personally see the limitations of what he writes much more clearly with this topic than with blackjack. I'm sure the criticisms of him vis-a-vis blackjack, which have been made by multiple forum members here, ring true. He appears to try to write about real-life experiences, but absent real-life details. Alarm bells should be ringing all the time.

I picked Nova and attended because it was very important to my grandfather. I had scholarship money from my father's passing that I could have gone somewhere else on a totally free ride. In the end, the very reason I chose and went to Nova was also the reason I stopped going partway through. My grandfather making up the difference.

It sounds like you are jealous that I had a free ride and didn't take as much advantage of it as I could, maybe should have. But frankly, THAT is none of your business, Red. Don't be jealous. Penn State is a fine little school. Well except for the child molestation shit that went on for 30 years and the legendary football coach knew about and turned a blind eye too. The only new news about the UNKewl one is that Nersesian tore the UNKewl one yet another new a-hole and asked him to stop mentioning him in any context because he does not represent him and never has, and also (allegedly, but even that turned out to be a lie) advised the UNKewl one to stop posting on these forums and yet...mentally ill ICD and incapable of stopping his diarrhea of the mouth and keep posting notwithstanding that he knows he needs to shut up before someone else comes out and posts his exact name, which has been circulating via PM for weeks now, UNKewl one that he is - he just can't help himself.

And goofy Mdawg is including quotes that weren't even me, and leaving out key pieces. the quote saying I graduated in 2014 and moved to Las Vegas to live with my brother, was posted by MY BROTHER. And he identified that it was him speaking in that post which Mdawg left out.
