Singer was Wrong. (about everything)

Gambling is about Math...real math, not some alternative Rob Singer math.

Advantage play is about math...real math, not some alternative Singer Math.

Casinos use math...real math to win from 99.9% of player that enter the casino.

Advantage players, flip that by finding and playing something at an advantage, based on real math, not some Singer alternative math.


Part 2 of advantage play is what a player has to do to be able to keep playing. Cover plays, and techniques, learning acceptable and tolerated limits, ect.

You never hear Singer, or Turtle, or any of these guys talk about Part 2, because they haven't gotten past Part 1. They don't have to come up with ways to be able to keep playing, because the casino love them and want (beg) them to keep playing. I wonder why? :rolleyes:

These alternative maths that these guys come up with, are no different than what has been going on for hundreds of years. Alternative math = long disproven voodoo systems. These guys claim and want you to think they have come up with the "holy grail" in their alternative math, just as millions of voodoo system players did before them. To quote myself from a different thread "It is the same Pig! They are just dressing it differently" and in this case, calling it by another name.

LOL. I have an interview with a newspaper my first year out of college that lists my ATS record for the previous season when I was writing for the Valley View paper. I started Integrity Sports the season following the Rams/Steelers SB. That would be, when was the Rams/Steelers SB? Oh yes, 1980. So I started Integrity Sports in 1980. That would make the formal business name 45 years old.

Now as to the handicapping -- I have notebooks with my football selections, comparing them to AP, UPI, and local sports editor Babe Conroy, going back to when I was in seventh grade. So that would make me 13, and means I've been record-keeping football predictions for, let's see, 55 years.

Yeah, I was way off.

Oh wait, I have a correction. Those 55-year-old notebooks include the AP predictions, the UPI predictions, sports editor Babe Conroy's predictions, and the GamePlan Magazine power rating predictions, which I updated each week based on their formula. And my predictions, of course. Sorry for leaving out GamePlan.

No MrV. He probably bets sports along the way. Actually, I am quite certain of it. Kim Lee concluded that Dietz probably made a little money betting sports, but not enough to crow about. Not even enough to support himself.

What I object to is Dietz for years told us or implied that he was a successful sports bettor. Ala Billy Walters. When the facts are he was a tout selling picks and needing other people's money to bet. That is not a professional sports bettor. That is a tout. His whole claim was based on a lie.

That really puts him on par with someone like Turtle or Singer claiming all their ridiculous winnings in my book. It just isn't what he claimed.

There are people that play professionally. Professional gamblers if you will. Everything from the table games that I play to Machines (mickeycrimm), to people doing a variety of advanced things like Grosjean and munchkin. (I prefer the term AP, because they are doing something at an advantage that they came explain the math of). But that is not what any of these jackwads are. they are posers and want-a bes. A guy selling picks and needing new suckers (marks) is not a professional sports bettor. any more than Singer and Turtle are real winning players.

To me what redietz claimed to what he really was would be like if a blackjack dealer (his fulltime job), who played blackjack on the weekends called himself a professional player. he is NOT and I don't like it. I don't like that Redietz in his condescending ways, lied to us all these years.

A good part of it has to do with knowing and understanding risk. Real professional players, whatever they are doing understand risk. We LIVE risk. If we don't win (long-term) we don't have income.

Just to be clear, my late wife died a long time ago, in 2002. The "estate" consisted of 50K in life insurance, about half of which went to cover costs traveling for experimental treatments at UAB and the National Institutes of Health in Baltimore.

You see Rob Singer and this turtle person have made whopper lies about their gambling history and claims. Ranging from the double up bug, which Rob stole, to winning hundreds of thousands playing a progression system, to the many fake jackpot picture with Rob, to winning millions and millions of dollars while the casinos and casino personnel don't care with this other clown, Turtle.

Any lies I have told have been not about my basic gambling claims, as my story has remained consistent, across several forums. It is somewhat boring or routine and there is nothing to remember. Any lies I have told have been about details, as there was usually something I didn't want revealed to the trolls and haters like Singer and this turtle that they could use to harm me or my career. (or moses before that). Not a single lie or even exaggeration about my blackjack play or career. If I had lied, it would be a little more interesting as blackjack card counting is pretty mundane if done correctly.

I enjoy reading what both of them post and I really don't care whether or not they are truthful all of the time...hell, this is a gambling board, what can you expect?

You are the expert here, MrV, but wouldn't these types of things be considered "supporting evidence", meaning alone they don't prove anything, but you start to get a few of these things and looks like a pretty compelling case.

I can't recall what redietz's explanation was as to how he came to not pay his property tax on time.

Could be a legitimate reason for a solvent person to be late, but he could also have been broke as a joke at the time.

It isn't definitive proof by any means, but it would tend to support your claim.

Bottom line: the truth, as is oft the case, is unknown.

But I don't believe he's a deadbeat; nor do I get the feeling he's particularly well off: I think he's just an average guy with a keen interest in sports betting and arguing on social media.

I wasn't really referring to Dietz paying his property tax late as any kind of supporting evidence. BUT if I remember, he did have a rather odd explanation for doing so. I think that explanation was at GF, not here though. he mentioned something like he paid it 6 months late along with 10% penalty, which amounted to only a small amout (I guess about $50). Small amount or not paying a 10% penalty for an extra 6 months, is pretty poor way to handle finances. But whatever.

What I was referring to as far as redietz, with the supporting evidence comment, was this. Somebody betting sports for a living has to hit at 53% just to overcome the vig. So they really need to hit at 55% minimum long-term to show any profit. Probably more like 56-57% to show any reasonable profit long-term.

Kim Lee, having gone over all the different publications from the 80-90's concluding that Redeitz did not hit at 55% long-term. It was indeed about 53%. Which lead to the conclusion that he may have broken about even, maybe made some small amount of money some years. NOT enough to live off of. That is why Kim Lee included the comment "if he had someone basically supporting him". :rolleyes:

As far as I know, Kim Lee did not know about Red's wife, a college professor, who likely did support him or pay most of the living expenses, and yet Kim Lee hit the nail right on the head.

There just is no evidence that Redietz made any kind of real money betting sports. Did he make a good living as a tout, or taking a percentage of bettors money (free roll type service)? I have no idea. I wouldn't think so, Plus if Red was hitting 53%, the people that were his clients were losing money. They would have needed to hit much higher than that to break even with paying redietz however he structured it) on top. So they lost money. That means he would have needed a new set of clients every year. Hence his need to be in Vegas 100 days to drum up new clients and business.

And none of that is illegal, but it just is not what Redeitz told us all these years. he told us he was a professional sports bettor and the numbers just don't bear that out. Even though Red mentioned Kim Lee as having all that information, I suspect he never envisioned Kim Lee coming here and exposing everything he did about redeitz and even some of the shit in those contests results, like the touts that used them could pay to have their results look better.

Some of this stuff we shouldn't have even known about Bob Dietz. Like the late payment of property taxes, that I believe coach belly looked up. Or who it was that actually paid for that house. But for some odd reason, in his crusade against being anonymous, this Bob Dietz person posted his name address hundreds of times. Even his phone number a handful of times.

He more or less exposed himself as the people almost always do. :cool: Singer did the same thing.

Cannot an avowed "professional sports bettor" also have a job outside of that, one to pay the bills?

Could be he had a regular job and dabbled with sports for shits, giggles, and to make some extra dough, both from betting and from "clients."

I don't know, nor really care: the man seems to knows sports betting, just as you seem to know card counting.

The definition of "professional" says something like a specific activity as one's main paid occupation.

If a person is a dealer at a casino, but plays blackjack one day a week on their day off, playing at an advantage, are they a professional gambler or blackjack player? I think any reasonable person would say no.

If a person works any other job 5 days a week and AP's one a week on Saturdays, are they an AP? sure. Are they a professional AP, meaning supports themselves from that? Come on? :rolleyes:

Since redietz claims he mostly "specialized" in college football, and only was in Las Vegas 100 days (3-4 months a year), there seems a reasonable chance he did something else back in East Bumblefuck the other 8 months a year, that he just hasn't told us about. Maybe he had a side job working at the East Bumblefuck Gazette. Maybe he delivered Pizzas. And that is all well and good. It isn't mandatory that everyone be a "professional" AP/gambler/player.

But again, I come back to that is not what he lead us to believe all these years. If you say you are a professional anything, doesn't that mean that is how you support yourself or make a living?

And the whole "professional" player/AP thing can get even hairier, when talking retirement.

For Card counting, I have always said that before a person has a family, 20's maybe early 30's is a great time to be a card counter. And the second good time is after retirement, supplementing retirement income. BUT if a person is retired, lets say decent pension, collecting social security and they embark of some form of advantage play in their retirement, and make say 20-30k, but are really living off their retirement, are they really a "professional" AP or blackjack player? :confused:

I had a bit of a problem with a guy back on Norm's blackjack forum 12-13 years ago, that this was his exact situation. he retired from teaching at a college (professor) in his early 50's and started playing blackjack. And his wife still worked full time. By the time he got to his 70's he promoted himself as a professional blackjack player for 20 years. But that whole time he had retirement income that dwarfed what he made playing blackjack and his wife still worked. Is that REALLY a professional player? :confused: Not by my definition.
