Is the Coronavirus the fork in Las Vegas? :/

Dan warned me to stop putting non related Vegas threads in here and warned me to start Threads in Their APPROPRIATE Forums. This thread is a thread that could either go in Coronavirus Forum or here. I chose to put it here.

There have been reports for YEARS that Las Vegas has been declining in Popularity due to the HEART of it, Casino Gambling, is no longer confined to it or Atlantic City. Now MOST States have Casinos and you no longer have to travel to just TWO states to Gamble in a Casino. The Unexpected Coronavirus caused ALL Casinos in The U.S to shut down for about three months. Vegas was already wobbling on its last legs even BEFORE the Coronavirus even existed. It seems that the Coronavirus Pandemic just may be the death kneel of Las Vegas.... There have also been reports that Las Vegas is now a low down, trashy dirty Ghetto and no longer the Glitz and Glamour it used to be. So that doesn't help either.

OMG you’re baiting me into giving your not serious thread a serious reply. The reason it’s a junk thread is because you made up most of the story, as usual. Las Vegas has not been declining for years, it’s done very well over at least the last half decade. They dealt with gaming in other areas by shifting focus on other entertainment, conventions, some economic diversification. Residential has done well with an influx of residents fleeing California, retirees, and location independent workers for tax reasons.

Still tourism based so the lack of travel is a major concern but you made up the declining for years gambling in other areas part. Quahog likes your posting style though, so maybe I’m just an asshole.

But I can guarantee you that you are not wrong about her garbage. She hears urban rumors, half truths and other fairy tales and finds a way to make them sound even stupider. It’s an acquired skill she has by being an intellectual moron.

As I have said multiple times, we have to understand she has mental issues and needs help. I hope she gets it.

This was meant to be taken as an insightful, observant , serious thread! There have been MANY reports that Coronavirus really damaged what was already a dying City!

Edit. Dying as in "Way less popular to visit, NOT population wise....

Nobody said it was an already dying city though pre-COVID....that’s the part you just made up for your story. Metro area population 2010: 1.9 million. 2020: 2.7 million. Does that sound like it was already dying to you?

Well, when I started this thread, the Covid Vaccines were JUST getting ready to be given out.... Five months later, with the Covid Vaccines a lot more readily available, it seems I was WRONG with my "Coronavirus being the final fork in Vegas," Prediction as it seems that Vegas is back big time, about how it used to be before 2020.... In my defense, when I started this thread, multiple People were saying they absolutely refused to travel to Vegas and just 5 months ago, Vegas looked more like trashy Inner City Detroit than the Glamour and Ritz it usually is.....

When I was in the Vegas casino gym today, it was nearly empty. Probably too early in the morning for most and too many were hung over from last night.

Anyway when I arrived there were two white guys in there, NOT wearing masks. They left before I was even done with my cardio workout, so I didn't have to say a word to them. Then a black guy walked in, wearing a mask, we greeted each other politely, and he kept his mask on the entire time including while doing cardio.

Then some fat redneck looking guy with a stupid looking beard came in, no mask, coughing and blowing his nose constantly. If he had stepped anywhere near me I would have said something, but luckily he stayed far away from me. As I was almost done and leaving, another white guy, not as redneck looking and a little higher class, walked in, with a mask on, but took it off when he started his cardio.

So for everything that people might have to say against the blacks, my experience this morning was that the black guy was more respectful and willing to follow the rules than the others.

I'd be beyond pissed if some guy was constantly coughing and blowing his nose even BEFORE 2019..... Had he done that in 2020 especially with no mask on, I'd be even MORE beyond pissed. That's just plain nasty to do that with no mask on especially in 2020 with the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic going on....
