covid19 could re-ignite online gaming in the U.S.

It seems like the big brick and mortar Nevada gaming lobby (Sheldon Adelson and the like) is one of the big road blocks to getting online casino gaming in the United States back to where it was before Black Friday. With state-wide Nevada casino closures in effect, along with the federal government's approval of letting states have legalized sports betting if they want, it would seem that the chance that the federal government and states (besides the ones like New Jersey where online gaming already exists and is regulated by the state of New Jersey) would legalize and then regulate online gaming (I realize Nevada has already approved online poker at Nevada online casinos) is quite high now if Nevada casinos (and other states for that matter) remain closed indefinitely. The Vegas casino ownership would rather have some sort of revenues coming in (online) than none at all if casinos remained closed I would think.

Adelson will never, ever budge on this. I don't care if he has to stay closed a year.

It's his life's mission.

If that's the case then maybe the other lobbyists (B&M casino owners) having a change of heart would still be enough.

Can you explain to me why the taxpayer has to bail out the Casino and Movie Theater Industry???
Why can't they just go bankrupt like the mom and pop shops of old?
I understand bailing out certain big business but I don't understand bailing out these two monsters?

My guess is that the elected legislators (members of congress) who are signing these taxpayer bail outs into law received a large proportion of their campaign money from these two groups and so are beholden to them. I wish I could give you a better answer Monet, but that's all I can think of right now.

I forgot all these bastards are in cahoots but I don't blame them... I get it.
The funny thing is that I can accept it more now that I remember they are buddy buddy.

For selfish AP reasons, I have always been on the fence about wanting too many online regulated casinos if theres a risk of shutting down the places "licensed" in Curacao and God knows where else.
Short-term it will definitely present more opportunities, especially for those that won't step foot into the unregulated online casino scene. Eventually, online casinos will tighten up once they Corner the market. Promotions will tighten up greatly once all the advantage players start descending and more coming out of the woodwork. One a good aspect about having online casinos regulated and license is the fact that you'll probably almost always get paid. As we all know that can be a problem with the offshore joints. Your choices will be No Doubt be limited. Right now there's probably about two thousand different choices online, unfortunately, there is only around 300 that allow players from the United States, give or take a hundred, some either don't care or they don't really say. There's also other ways to get around that.

With the online regulating casinos come strict laws that you could be prosecuted for violating. Of when it comes to the offshore places, I'm not sure who the hell's going to come after you. Kind of like card counting, you might be breaking rules, but not laws.

If you're in the affiliate game it might be pretty hard for the small guy to get a gig being an affiliate and I'm sure they're not going to be giving great deals.

It's only a matter of time before the online Casinos close too as Humans also run the online Gaming. Unless they find away to make Robots do ALL online Gaming, Online Gaming will go the way of the brick and mortar Casinos eventually.
