There are more small cards in a deck than big cards. By big cards I mean the jacks, queens, kings and aces because a pair of those will at least be a push in many video poker card games and could win in a live poker game.
But in live poker, some players will successfully play small cards including pairs and suited connectors because there are more small cards in a deck.
