Marijuana presents a clear and present danger to America today.
I'm talking about the munchies.
Americans are growing increasingly obese, and having the munchies only makes it worse.
Maybe some day when the big tobacco companies and other well-funded corporations get involved in the industry they'll come up with, patent, and sell a strain of weed that does not make one want to gnaw the paint off the walls.
Did you know that a sizeable chunk of customers who frequent fast food joints in the USA are actually muchies?? Drunk, stoned, and high - these are the ones who mostly knock on the doors of junk food eateries (mostly at the wee hours of the night).
A survey indicates that 17% of Jack in the Box’s footfalls occur between the late night hours of 10 pm and 4 am. And that, most of the customers seeking the pleasure of such drool-worthy treats such as the Sirloin Cheeseburger with Bacon at the dead of the night are either high on alcohol or drugs. So in addition to causing severe psychological, neurological, and pulmonary damage - marijuana is also making a particular demogrphy dangerously obese slowly.

Anecdotally, I'm a baby boomer who has smoked dope pretty much continuously since my teens, and I have no psychological, neurological or pulmonary problems.
Others whom I know with the same history of heavy dope use also are problem free.
So consign that hoary chestnut to the dung heap where it belongs.
"Severe damage:" bullshit.
Sure, some folks experience negative effects but in the end it's a lot better for us than alcohol.
