Which ploppy scam is this?

They target mostly those playing alone near high limit rooms that has "large" amount of credit on their machine, so be aware folks.

I told this person that I don't believe they have the scam right. My guess is that these are APs who are grabbing a machine from a ploppy when in +EV mode, while an accomplice sits down after both of them seek the machine with "bonus credits". And I'm guessing that the bonus credit machine is a lie, and the excuse will be that someone else must have played them off while the machine was sitting unattended.

I’m with you it’s probably more of a “creator” type scam run by lowlifes and failed AP’s that are too stupid to make money without fucking others. This is the type shit that makes casinos go after anyone they think is APing slots, even if they aren’t bothering anyone.

Anyways welcome back, we are awaiting your take on Singer’s big “win”.

I don't see why it is described wrong. Makes sense. If you can usher someone off a machine and an accomplice can swipe the ticket before the mark realizes they left it. Then your mark is so distraught that you don't even have to show him the supposed play. You can just abandon him/her. Go to another casino and repeat.

If the mark brings the ticket then you start creating until they get upset and walk.

Bonus value if you can pull them off a machine in a positive state.

So there are 3 simultaneous angles at work here. The creators are upping their game....lol

It's a shitty thing to do but if something can be done someone is going to do it. If you confront these crews be prepared to defend yourself at a later time.....RIP

I considered the possibility Druff raises. My only reservation is it just seems too elaborate for creation given the props and the need for a confederate and that you'd have to move on to a new casino.

But the problem with the story as told is whether they can really reliably get people to forget their credits. I would have thought no but maybe there's an art to it that increases your chances.

Shameless as high limit creating is it's probably a great hourly for people with no bankroll and no ability to keep one.

Most creators work in teams.

Usually it's the guy who is really good with the mark running the game and then he has the pickup guy working for him.

Sometimes, not often, there is a third person to perform lookout, provide deflection, run interference, or whatever else may be needed.

You have to really see a pro group in action to understand how much damage they can do in a short period of time. It is highly effective.

They deserve to be hung upside down and cut open slowly while being fed their balls but that doesn't change the fact they are extremely good at what they do.

I don't think anybody would fall for the scam as first presented. But I tend to overestimate intelligence in general. I just don't think anybody is going to be fooled by the alleged generosity of others in Las Vegas these days. So I lean to Druff's interpretation. Then the person can pull their money out of the machine they were playing and the whole thing works as opposed to the 1 in 1000 likelihood somebody is leaving credits in a machine because they are excited over the largesse of others.

I guess I'm biased because nobody ever accused me of looking like a "nice guy." Back in my youth, when people were choosing seats on the bus, I was the last guy anyone sat next to.

That’s because you were probably like me, hustling others lunch money on football bets using the “Latest line” cut out of the paper to offer them bets at inflated lines on their favorite teams. Since so many kids in middle school had different favorites in the 70’s, though the Steelers were the most popular, it was easy money. Didn’t even charge vig since I inflated the line 2-4 points. No internet or much knowledge on lines in those days. Oh to be 12 or 13 again and have what seemed a fortune in my pocket at that time.

I have a funny story from back when all the small town schools in my neck of the woods became a "jointure," so kids that heretofore had not gone to school together were suddenly thrust together. I think I was 15. The biggest guy on the football team (who also set our discus record) and his friends, who were from another town, went around stealing lunches out of lockers. I never locked my locker, based on principle. So the jointure had just started, and they stole my lunch and ate it. It was a modest lunch and all that, but with a fruit snack pack.

Anyway, I still didn't lock my locker. On principle. So they stole my lunch a second time. By the time they figured out Dietz had evidently inserted hydrochloric acid in the snack pack with a hypodermic needle, it was too late. So the football player and I had a conversation outside of the biology room. On one hand, he could have killed me. On the other hand, he was concerned I had killed him, but it would take awhile to work.

My locker stayed unlocked for the rest of my high school career. And nobody stole my lunch again. The football player wound up driving our limo at my wedding. See, a nice ending to the story.

I might believe it if the guy claimed went broke on a big $ Vulture play and wanted a pice when I hit it, but claiming you don't have 2 minutes extra to finish your bonus round would make me automatically tell him to go pound sand.

Axel, your post got me thinking about if this were to happen. If someone that wasn't properly funded for that session, or just not properly funded at all runs out of cash on a high $ vulture play.
Asking casino patrons would almost have to be an uphill battle...

Casino patron: yeah, sure whatever dude.

AP: No, really, I do this for a living, it's overdue. Tell you what. You can have my seat and you can play it until it hits. Then we split the progressive 50/50. Fair?

In all seriousness I think this would be very difficult. In a normal setting it is difficult to explain to a normal person what a slot AP does and how it works. Most just can not grasp the concept. If someone actually had to explain under pressure in a casino, to a casino patron, what slot advantage play is and how it works - would be HARD. Then explaining to them that you are currently doing this in this very casino but variance hasn't gone your way and you need their help AND you want a percentage of their winnings.

This brings up an interesting topic. Regardless of how well you are bankrolled and if this could ever happen to you or not, after you attempted all other options (calling other AP's to location, wire money, sell your vehicle) would you explain to casino patrons what you are doing to try to get help or just leave?

Personally, I would say Fuck it and leave.
Oh, speaking of selling your vehicle... BUYING a vehicle in a casino can be an extremely profitable AP move.

For Max's sake, let's pretend you put more than enough in your jacket pocket before you left the house. On this occasion, you started out using money from your wallet and ran bad only to realize you grabbed the wrong jacket as you left the house.

If it happened to me, I would just have the machine shut down and then go get more money or I would call my wife/someone and have them bring me some money. As a last resort (let's say I was traveling alone far from my hotel). I guess I would get a cash advance? I have no clue what they charge for something like that.

The Multiplier Creator scam is what I had in mind when reading your OP, Dan and other Posters also pointed out that this seems more like a Multiplier Creator Scam than an outright theft scam. See a Ploppy get a bunch of Multipliers, tell him,"Oh, this other game got 5 jackpots in one hour earlier today. I think you should go check it out. Ploppy thanks the Creator for the hot tip, cashes out, takes his TITO with him and goes to "Hot machine." Creator sits down and plays the multipliers Ploppy left open and wins big. Axelwolf actually pointed this out that someone who scams a Ploppy off of a Multiplier game is a scummy Creator, not an AP. I remember asking something like,"Is someone who scams a Ploppy off of a Multiplier game and then sits down and plays Multiplier game himself and wins big an AP?" Axelwolf responded something like,"No, that's a scummy Creator who does that and I don't like that. Better to just wait for Ploppy to run out of money and leave on his own volition and then play the Multiplier game and win big after the Ploppy leaves on his own volition.

The way you thought it was(Getting Players to accidentally leave money in their machine as they go to the "Hot machine," and having the Tippers steal the TITO would be incredibly risky.
