Northern Nevada- The stuck 4Runner rescue being watched around the world...

It started last Saturday at 4pm with a Facebook post. Some guy off roading got stuck out near Black Rock/Gerlach. He posted on Facebook with his coordinates, update of food, location and the now famous photo. The story and pics have been shared around the world and people are cheering him on from German, Australia and South Africa. Some rescuers are coming from Washington, Oregon and locally. He admits to making a mistake, doesnt mean he is "retarded" as posted above. I reviewed his other posts and the others agree, he was doing a good job roading and making good decisions, he just got caught in a place he wasnt familiar. I am not sharing this story so members here can bag on him.

Hopefully Druff will cover this story on the PFA show.

Nah...ignorance is being stuck in mud up to your lugs further than 200' into the mud.

Did he at least have cell service there? I know he was posting somehow on Facebook, but it also seems like they had trouble communicating with him?

It seems like he did. Gerlach is in Washoe County, so I assume he was ok on a signal.
