New Scarab game is very interesting. :)

So on Scarab, here you get pretty jewel looking Scarabs and the Scarabs turn into wilds at the end of 10 games. My very first time on it, I got a row of like 5 Scarabs in a row. I didn't win.I was like"WTF? How did I not win with all those Scarabs in a row? This game is a scam!" (Most people who had no idea how the Scarabs work in this game would have had similar thoughts, ;) I continued to play anyway since I saw I was on like Game 8 out of 10. And I got a few more Scarabs(Scattered this time, ;). On Game 10, all of the Scarabs turned into WILDS(Remember that "Non paying," full row Scarab thing? It turned into a full row of WILDS! :D) and I was in happy shock as I got like 70 times my bet win! :O :D

It is very vultrable. :) I vultured it the other day when I saw that the game was on Game 3. I knew that all I had to do was play 7 more games and I would have a chance for a lot of wilds. I played the 7 games and unfortunately, the wilds matched lower paying symbols and I actually lost $1. But if the wilds had matched the top symbol, I could have gotten a 70 times my bet profit.

I wouldn't jump on this game with 7 left to play unless at least 2 of the first 3 columns were loaded with scarabs.

Hey, this was my very first attempt at Vulturing, ;) But you do bring up a valid point. :)

The base game without wilds is just brutal.

Hopefully while on it, you hit the bonus round. Much value in it.

I've only hit one bonus round on that game (the 3 temples or whatever the fuck they are), even though I've played a decent amount of this game. Don't know how many spins I've put through on it, but I'd expect to have hit 5-10 if it was any other slot. Seems gaffed. Was I running bad on the bonus round, or is it just really hard to trigger?

I'm still waiting to get a bonus round. Does it pay well?

I've recorded about 60 results always picking 10 wilds. Haven't totaled the results but looks like about a 50-60x avg. Hit one retrigger and 2 4 banger's. Pretty sure I'm hitting above expectation based on others experiences.

Thanks for the information leonardshelby. I have played off a lot of scarabs left on machines, however, haven't yet had the pleasure of the rare and illusive bonus round. I'm now looking forward to catching one. It could make the difference between a good day and a great day.

In my local Casino, people are leaving the machine on 5 cent machine, so I put in a $20 and hit .75 and wonder why I only have like 1.25 after hitting like 5 spins and wonder why I am no longer able to play anymore! This actually happened to me TWICE! I now know to look at the Denomination before playing ".75 cents,". I think one day I will try playing like .75 on a penny denomination for 8 times and then playing $3.75 for the final two spins and then hoping for a lot of wilds. That could pay off big time! :D

Where I play there is only 5 different possible bet levels making it easy to check a machine for opportunities.

Each denomination has its own reels set. A couple other vulturable games are like this as well.

If Scarab had behaved the way you had expected Tasha (rather than the way it actually behaves which you just discovered), you wouldn't need to vulture it - you could simply create a game 9 loaded with framed Scarabs at the minimum denomination by paying for the necessary spins to load it up that way at 75 cents a spin and then self-vulture it at max bet ($3.75) on game #9 loaded up with scarabs that you created at the 75 cent denom. So with this thought experiment of course it would be obvious that each denom has it's own game state.

I guess most people would be shocked that the Scarab game goes down in games when you hit the higher amount like I was. I guess it does make sense that the game goes down in games to avoid gamblers doing an advantage move, play 9 games at .75 and then play $3.75 and get like a bunch of wilds and then get like $120 on a $3.75 bet.

If you pick a higher denomination Tasha (or any denomination), the game will simply be in the last played state of that denomination - so if a previous player played at $3.75 and left it at 6 games, that would be what you would find the game at if you picked that denomination. In your case, a previous player quit playing after four games were played.

I'm thinking that I could risk like almost $40 and have either a major win with a bunch of wilds, a shitty win, or nothing at all, basically throwing away $40 or getting a very big profit. I was wrong on my previous post. A really big win could net like $500, on $3.75,not like $120

I have had several bonus rounds and now I’ll always pick 5 games with 10 wilds. Seems to average around 50 times the bet. I go with that because the game is so dependent on wilds.

Haven’t done well on the other two options although haven’t tried them that much. You are probably correct that the middle may be the best option due to more chances to retrigger the bonus.

I don’t think so. Were there any wilds left? A trap would be 2 or 3 wilds in the right hand side on the 3rd or 4th spin. Most people who leave it at 9 spins don’t know what they are doing. If there are any wilds at all I will play the 9th spin off as you can get more scarabs on the last spin and they automatically turn wild. I don’t know what the math is and haven’t tracked my results but since it only costs one bet this is what I do. I wouldn’t play it with just one wild on the 7th spin. If you are going to have to do more than one spin I would want at least 3 wilds in the first 3 columns. I have found that this one is usually pretty easy to figure out. I tend to see it either on a high spin number with a lot of wilds and play it or on a medium to low number with few/no wilds and ignore it. I don’t see too many tough calls on these, at least where I vulture.

The interesting thing about this game is the marginal cases, which are +EV but will lose money a significant percentage of the time. I've probably played this game about 20 times and I think I only lost money once or twice, which suggests I'm missing a lot of plays.

You'd have to do an analysis like the Shackleford's OM analysis to come up with a system for valuing wilds by column and by total number per row.

I guess the problem is no recreational player is going to undervalue a marginal state, so they're about as likely to leave them as they are to leave guaranteed winners. (Which of course they do but not often.)

I've been very cautious about playing machines that have four or more spins to go because I don't have a good feel for what an an above average state looks like at spins 1-6. Once you get to 7-9 it becomes more obvious. Of course at 9 you can calculate your worst case scenario if you want.

A lot of civilians that play this don’t realize that at the 10th spin the scarabs turn wild. They think they are just playing a regular slot machine and don’t understand there is any significannce to the highlited spots. They also don’t notice the spin counter in the corner that says “x of 10 spins” How do I know this? Not only from observing people playing but the very first time I ever played this I didn’t get it either and left a machine with a lot of Scarabs on it lol.

It is also possible that they think they are straight up being scammed, seeing a bunch of Scarabs in a row not paying, and think the machine is a rip off and leaving. I myself my very first time on Scarab was shocked that a row of Scarabs didn't win me any money and was like,"WTF? " Something told me to keep playing since I saw the "Game 6 out of 10," on the bottom right hand corner, and I'm glad I did. That "Non paying row of Scarabs turned into a full row of WILDS and I won a lot of money! :D
