According to the way KewlJ would crunch the numbers it has a 64% death rate in US currently (gtfoh). 121 recovered/discharged, 218 deaths per worldometers.info. South Korea numbers likely the most accurate expectation on the whole, completely ignoring anything from China. Italy appears to be an outlier on high end of death rate, and Germany perhaps an outlier on low end with only 44 deaths in over 15k reported cases. US has reported over 5,000 new cases within last 24 hours, highest one day total reported of any country other than Italy. All that really shows is how badly we’ve lagged on testing. Over 5,700 of 14k total cases reported in US are in NY. NYC is in a bit of trouble.
Worldometers looks like a good site to get frequently updated numbers from different countries, click on US and it’s broken down by state. I know in my state you currently can’t even get a test unless you’re hospitalized, a health professional, or in a long term care facility. Doesn’t matter if you’re showing symptoms or have had contact with a confirmed case. I’m pretty sure they left out something about availability if you’re worth 10+mill.

I have never really been political on these boards.
I like Trump but I could care less because I know they are all the same.
You must realize that every state is about to follow suit and they have to police the order.
This means that they will have to set up checkpoints to stop you if you are out and about.
California already listed the only reasons you can go out of your house and for now as a last resort they will ticket you.
However we are not far from being jailed for being out under these orders.

I am not really amped up but I can see a major problem with this and it has nothing to do about catching the virus.
We are talking about our civil liberties being stripped away from us.
I know some people don't care about that but I don't think you realize how dangerous that is.
Some of us have over 10 or 20 thousand rounds just because.

I'm asking if this group did calculations on the projected # of non-Covid-19 deaths as a result of the lockdown and compared it to the projected # of covid-19 deaths if the state lockdown had not taken place. I would think that the governor would want to minimize overall deaths as opposed to minimizing only covid-19 deaths.Quote:

What are the deaths you are expecting here? Food production would be considered essential as would anything else needed that is essential? Maybe not Tesla cars but that makes sense to me. California and Washington are apparently fighting over who gets the Navy hospital ship sent to them! Newsom getting all hysterical to try and steal the ship that was likely headed for Washington! Personally I’d rather save Washington. It’s almost like this was inflicted on America to punish primarily extremely liberal states, 8k of 14k confirmed cases between NY/CA/WSH with New Jersey next.
